  1. I went to the Celtic B vs Rangers B game last month (don’t judge me, my mate offered me a ticket), and I wouldn’t take any of the Rangers players in that team. Overall it wasn’t a good game despite the 5-2 result for Celtic. There were a couple Celtic players who looked really promising though. Also, a pupil at my work has claimed that Mullin is his big cousin… So I’ll try and find out some information regarding his loan.
  2. Yeah if we go through and get let’s say one of Rangers, Celtic, or Hearts away then that’s an excellent pay day for us to boost the squad. Knowing our luck it will be Falkirk at home.
  3. I don’t understand why people are writing us off to win the league unless we sign 5/6 players. Would I be happy with top 4 given the last few seasons? Absolutely. But there is no reason why we shouldn’t be optimistic of a title push right to the end. With a couple decent additions, and Dipo getting back on form (both of which I’m sure will happen), who’s to say we can’t challenge? Our form will improve, and as has been mentioned, we’re never out of a game. Just look at Dundee, after their result against us at Somerset, most people thought they’d start to run away with it. Now they’re back to 3rd albeit with a game in hand. Queens Park are top at the moment, but we’ve got their number so far this season and there’s no reason why we can’t take 6 points from our final games against them. Morton went on a 10 game undefeated streak until recently, last week they got beat off of a horrendous Hamilton team. Queens Park and Dundee will be signing players no doubt, and the good news is Ian McCall has said Partick won’t be signing anyone. Morton with all their contract renewals, letting players go and bringing some in, are now where most people thought they would be. Will I be furious if we don’t win the league? No. But I really don’t think it’s as out of reach as people are making out. It’s been proven that optimistic people live longer, so there’s another reason to believe that we can win the league this year. https://www.science.org/content/article/cheer-optimists-live-longer
  4. I think it’s pretty obvious we need another forward to play along side Dipo. He’s doing all the work himself to get into scoring positions. Yes we have many attack minded players, but it’s not working. We haven’t scored a proper team goal since Raith on 3rd December, and we haven’t scored a goal from open play since Partick on 17th December.
  5. I’m not saying we should have been playing silky football on the deck for the full game, but when we did get it down we got into good positions. It’s been like that all season. At least the surface will get a rest until the Partick home game in February, or maybe the week before in the cup. Massive respect to all staff involved getting the surface ready for the last two weeks, all things considered it’s been a carpet compared to other grounds, Hampden included which was a total mess today.
  6. I could not believe your player didn’t get a red after the penalty. He went right up to the referee’s face and put his hands on his chest. Only a yellow for borderline assault on an official? The Dick Campbell red was probably the highlight of the match.
  7. As per usual, when we actually get it down and pass it we get forward, however why we kept punting it up the park today, particularly in the second half I’ll never know. We should have been home and dry (maybe not dry) after the first half with some real good chances, and also with some good chances before their first goal. Albison made a cracking save in the first half to keep it 0-0. Our second goal was definitely an own goal, massive deflection off the head of the Arbroath player. I’ll absolutely take the point with those conditions, and I’m looking forward to the cup next weekend.
  8. The ICT game at home a few years ago got postponed 45 mins before kick off I’m sure?
  9. Aye that’s a tough one to take. Loved watching him play. Had that bit of flair you don’t really see at our level.
  10. My mate who may or may not post on here sent me a picture of his front garden earlier… Looked tip top! Game on.
  11. Surely we’ll be given access to the Railway End today? Makes for a much better atmosphere. Last week was very flat.
  12. Ayr 1-0 Arbroath Cove 1-1 Raith Dundee 2-1 Partick Accies 1-1 Morton Inverness 2-1 Queens Park
  13. Adeloye would effectively need a “pre-season” with Dundee. He’ll be unfit and have zero match sharpness. He also hasn’t scored a goal since the last game of the season against Partick. Massive gamble for Dundee. Personally I can’t see it happening.
  14. My calculations say 784 seats there, with what looks like a section for wheelchairs towards the right.
  15. It’s beyond tinpot now. How on Earth have we not figured out yet how to put a quality highlights package together this season? Our highlights were better in 2007!
  16. I know that the consensus on here is that nobody really knows what would happen with your stadium situation if you got promoted… But I went a walk earlier by Lesser for the first time in a while, and I can’t believe how small it’s going to be. I mean, I knew what the capacity is going to be, but it seems like a huge waste of time and money considering the ambition is to play in the Premiership eventually? I do love the fact that Lesser is being redeveloped and you’ll have a stadium fit for your home support, maybe the case you’d play elsewhere for games against Rangers and Celtic? I’m looking forward to our game in February, should be a tasty one!
  17. I’m in Glasgow (which I know isn’t Greenock) and the frost is pretty bad. I’m not feeling too optimistic if I’m being honest!
  18. I’d love a Nike kit. Just something about the Nike tick that is classy. I have really liked the Hummel stuff though. Could we see a return to Surridge Sport…?
  19. This makes me very happy! I assumed they wouldn’t turn on their USH, and was gutted at the thought of another Saturday without the football. COYA!
  20. Just back from the game, and I thought Ashford offered zero. I really want him to do well, but it’s just not happening. When McKenzie and Young came on the game changed completely. The first half was criminal, and at HT I’d have bitten your hand off for a draw. However I’m gutted to only get a point. Over the piece a draw is probably fair, but when you’re 10 minutes from victory it’s gutting. We sat back and the inevitable happened. I was convinced that Chalmer’s chance at the death was curling in. The only time I didn’t go to Inverness was when we won, and for a time towards the end I thought I might see that first victory up there. I’m delighted that Chalmer’s injury wasn’t a head injury as first thought, because he was brilliant in the second half, not so much the first half though. I’m glad we’re getting a break from the league next weekend, and hopefully we can get a comfortable win over Pollok and reset for Raith, who got pumped by QP who we’ve beaten twice this season. Ultimately the January window will decide who wins this league, and If think we’ll have the cash to spend, and the backroom staff to sign the right players.
