I am harmless....I'll give you that.

Your hatred for all things Celtic is incredible.

Pointing out that Jimmy Johnstone, while being miles in front of any current Celtic player, could at times be frustratingly inconsistent is merely an opinion with which those who saw him play more than I did, can disagree. You appear to be one of these 'Celtic minded' dogmatists who demand nothing but lavish praise 'for all things Celtic' and see any deviation from that doctrine as evidence of heretical and unacceptable anti-Celticism.

I was making the point that the 'elite' have been enabled by the Tories to ransack public funds for years.

The people taking part in this are not going to be in a position to partake in that so are doing their own (very much more visible) version of it.

And terrorising low paid shop workers who have probably suffered equally as much from Tory 'ransacking' as  the people taking part...

They are indeed.  Although its interesting to view them as a snapshot of what was generally acceptable back in the 1970's.  Remember that the TV sitcom "Till Death Us Do Part" (infamous for the cockney bigot Alf Garnett) was a mainstay of national UK television in the late 60's through to the early 70's.  How times change ... and for the better fortunately.

'Love Thy Neighbour' would be a better example. Alf Garnett was always the butt of the joke in "Til Death...". His bigotry set up as something to laugh at and ridicule. And when we have a Home Secretary coming out with the sort of stuff that only the National Front & BNP indulged in back in the 70's I would disagree that things have changed 'for the better'.

    Tut, tut, tut...

BBC Scotland is still being denied access to Celtic press conferences, the broadcaster tonight confirmed.

The broadcaster had been refused access to Brendan Rodgers first press conference upon his return to Celtic last month.

And it seems the issue between the club and BBC Scotland is ongoing with Celtic coverage on Reporting Scotland limited.

And a statement on-air confirmed BBC Scotland has contacted Celtic over the denied access and is awaiting a response.

Addressing the lack of comments from Rodgers in a report on the programme, presenter Lewis Irons said: "You may be wondering why there was no appearance by Brendan Rodgers in our report.

"Well, BBC News and Sport are being refused access to Celtic news conferences at the moment.

"The club has been contacted and is yet to respond.

"BBC Scotland says it is working with Celtic to resolve the issue."

Celtic had refused the BBC access to speak to Rodgers as part of the press conference at Parkhead last month.

A statement then from the BBC read: “BBC Scotland has asked Celtic for comment on the decision to deny the BBC access to the media conference and is awaiting a response.”

A spokesperson for Celtic said at the time: “We have raised a huge number of issues with the broadcaster which have yet to be addressed

Goodness , it's almost like these two are almost exactly the same in every conceivable way......who'd huv thunk it !

I think it’s necessary. Our game at the club level is not of the quality to compete with other European nations including our much bigger southern nation. We are competing with the Swiss and the Turks and the Austrians and the Serbs rather than the English and the Germans and the Spaniards and the Italians.

What does attract people to watch Scottish football is the unpredictability and general hilarity of it rather than the standards.

Indeed. In the same way that Wimbledon is the tennis tournament for people who don't like tennis, Scottish football excites those who don't really like football.

Less opinion from journalists and more reporting of facts/events would be preferable is my point. Same when a commentator starts giving out opinions about overloads or adopting a high press it makes me want to push the mute button. Likewise when a journalist starts giving opinions on that. There's a degree of resistance to what I'm saying which I find a bit surprising in all honesty.

You're in effect saying that only those who, through accident of birth, were blessed with the requisite motor skills to be gifted enough to make a living kicking a ball about are the only ones allowed an opinion on footballing matters. Quite why anyone should be surprised that such a view finds 'a degree of resistance' from people who have spent years watching, discussing and arguing about football baffles me.

Yes, that's my point and the question I asked @Jacky1990. Where are these Journalists? because I haven't seen there work clearly. 😂

These journalists may be rare but ex-footballers with anything interesting, coherent and intelligent to say are non-existent......those employed in the media anyway.....Derek Johnstone, Pat Bonner, Alex Rae et al, et al, et al....
