  1. So having decamped to my girlfriend's here in sunny Uxbridge for the foreseeable, taking advantage of her good oven/kitchen that isn't a corner of the living room. Today was tacos with carnitas, following the binging with babish cubanos recipe for the super garlicky citrusy pork shoulder. Lots left over for a few days if sandwiches. Easily one of the best things I've ever made or eaten
  2. Murrays of Perth - scotch pie - see ya later
  3. I'm really feeling stressed out about this at the moment. Getting sent to work from home from end of play today, and frankly the social interaction is the only part of my job that makes it bearable. Taking calls from scared and angry folk (we work in an industry that has been effected a lot by this) and not being able to go a walk or a run afterwards is pretty terrifying. Was due to visit my girlfriend outside of London for the weekend but with yesterday's news that's the kibosh on that one. Considering just going down and self isolating with her. My flatmate's family live overseas too so she and her brother are thinking about going to stay at their house in Fife so I'd be on my own here. I'd worry about family around here but having worked in an office up until today I'd be avoiding them for the foreseeable anyway obviously. Only downside I can see is if things were to change here more quickly I could be goosed with work. With my folks being in Spain I'm not too worried but sad I can't see them. My brother is polis so he's going to be on overtime central which he won't mind as he gets out the house. Grandad's pretty frail anyway and was in hospital overnight Monday, thank God no major issues and all covid tests were negative. What a shit storm the whole thing is
  4. It makes sense, my worry is about the quality of joined up reporting and decision making to decide when that right time will be
  5. Sounds superb, I'm working a back shift and close to payday so a basic quinoa salad for a pretty depressing Saturday tea.
  6. I think that's the name for crescenty ones. Sounds excellent, sauce or broth?
  7. Point of order, would those not be Casunziei? What we doing on fillings?
  8. I mean sure, some folk are thick. But that is literally what the use of that language in that context means. Something is being quoted, and in a court that would be the testimony of a witness. I'm aware I look like I'm being willfully blind/obtuse, and that they could have put in "alleged" or "court hears". But it doesn't change the meaning of what is actually being written, and some folk will get upset about how this is reported regardless.
  9. And as they're all died in the wool unionist feminists desperate to find him guilty that's the last thing they'd want
  10. I get it completely. I disagree with you. As has been explained to you many times now, the use of quotations makes it abundantly clear that it is an allegation. A statement of fact would be - Woman humiliated after Alex Salmond lay on her naked. When a news outlet publishes this I'll be more than happy to be upset about it but I can't pretend not to be able to parse simple English because I support independence.
  11. I think he might do too, just not the one he means to. Alt nats will read that and see it as a media stitch-up, mad yoons will read it as a sign he is guilty of sin. Those waiting to see the result can see exactly what is meant because we're not primed to be immediately furious. It's hard to believe these views would be altered in the slightest by writing to the lowest common denominator.
  12. I don't think we're missing the point but I am confused by the contradiction. The context doesn't matter because your average Joe will read that headline and think he's guilty as sin. Simultaneously, the context of the quotes is key as it shows an attempt to spin the story?
  13. So you're saying that we shouldn't be able to imply the obvious context for ourselves?
  14. That it's stating it as a fact? The use of quotations mean that it absolutely is not. That he's been judged before the judgement? If sky news or any other news outlet states, after all evidence is heard but no judgement made, that he is guilty as sin, then yes. Quoting a witness might be a little sensationalist but is in no way out of the ordinary. I think you two might have made up your minds more than anyone else here.
  15. I mean, it's fairly obvious that headline is quoting an accuser/witness. What's the issue exactly? And how does it contribute to a 'trial by the media'?
  16. True. The use of the word scrutinise specifically is interesting though
  17. Why should the public be scrutinizing the trial? Genuine question
  18. Aye, those three with one of Bradbury, Fagerson and Thomson on the bench is an excellent balance
  19. This was absolutely sensational. His band is tip top and played a few different songs either side of the film as well as the soundtrack. Couldn't find fault with the whole experience at all
  20. Watching the game on catch up now and there is a laughably in the side clear out from the french 15 after Fickou's break for their first try
