  1. Interesting to see if we stick with a 3-5-2 today. Think it gets the best out of Allan and I've always thought while he's handy in most positions he can play, tactically Boyle does most to get us up the pitch from RWB. In this league, getting the most out of your two most threatening players should be enough to score goals, and having five guys in central defence and midfield seems to mitigate the slightly heads-gone nature of our defence at the moment. 2-1 Hibs, TFDG and Scott Allan to score, both from assists which continue the Newellaissance (tm)
  2. Seems more and more a wee kids' program every time I see a clip of it. Makes sense considering I was about 14 the last time it seemed to be any good. Must do ok if it's still on but I'd be surprised if many folk are anything other than passive, on-in-the-background watchers
  3. I'm an absolute nerd for this type of nonsense. I'd go Hladky O'Donnell McKenna Kerr Barisic Allan Gogic Turnbull Naismith Edouard Dykes Not much pace in that team but a few niggly boys and a lot of shroo balls
  4. Rose McGowan, while deserving of a lot of sympathy and respect for her part in tackling Weinstein and general b*****dry in Hollywood, is an otherwise objectionable and pretty unsavory attention seeker.
  5. Comfy win in the end by the look of things. A much needed boost for Hibs fans on the day our coolest celeb fan has been cancelled
  6. Just realised this seems premature and looks a wee bit like jumping the gun. But those are the two best chances we've had to beat Ireland and England, including times that we have done so, in years
  7. Can't be many left defending Townsend after this. Always two steps back for every one forward. No carrying game and dreadful scrum last year or two, replace that with non functioning lineout, no clue at the breakdown and an ability to fire the back line in this. More worryingly it's now been about two years since a Townsend team went out looking like they had the confidence to take responsibility and be creative. Most of the time they don't look like they have a clear gameplan to execute either. Sad to see by far our best generation of my lifetime wasted like this
  8. On the train down to that there London the now. Bunch of wee spice boy fuds drinking own brand dark fruits just got on and proceeded to tell an Asian lad to stay away from them "with that coronavirus". Utter c***s, told to f**k off by a few folk.
  9. Has the subject of radge screensavers been discussed in this thread? There's a middle aged woman in my work who is constantly rotating between very aggressive pro-mental health slogans ("I don't look sick?! You don't look stupid!") gym photos of her roided up bf, and the sort of memes your auntie posts on facebook (two minions with their arms crossed and a slogan like "Smacking kids isn't child abuse!"). I honestly don't get the appeal at all. Any other P+Bers seeing this weird display in their workplaces or are you in set desktop scenes?
  10. M9, they put the word joked in their own copy... Again, he is clearly not fit for office, and there should be some sort of internal inquiry into his behaviour and the party's responses and safeguarding. Regardless, the implication that gay men who drink or go to nightclubs are, by their definition, untrustworthy, especially in a culture like politics where hard drinking is far from outside the norm, is enough to raise an eyebrow. If you can't see that I can't help you.
  11. Sorry, see my edit, I realised after posting I looked like I was deflecting/defending him. What you're saying is valid, but nowhere does it mention a specific level of alcohol consumption, and at no point in that Herald article does anyone actually say Nicola Sturgeon 'banned shamed Derek Mackay from drinking at SNP conferences'.
  12. Is going to nightclubs, per se , an indication of loose morality and/or unfitness for office? To be clear, he's an obvious creep, and I think there's definitely something to be said for the SNP, and political parties in general, being far too easy places for predators to operate. But if we're starting to insinuate that gay men who go to nightclubs or take part in karaoke while drunk are de facto for the watching and not fit for public office then there's a note of homophobia in the reporting.
  13. Again, disagreeing is absolutely fine. But try to be consistent when you do, and don't turn to insults when people point out that you're not. Happy to help
  14. I'm absolutely fine mate, just pointing out that you're inconsistent at best. But running around quoting everyone who disagrees with you all over the thread would suggest you're not.
  15. Hang on. So folk should stand up for themselves if they don't want to work outside their hours, otherwise they're weak. But to only work within their contract or look forward to not being at work means that folk are by definition miserable, and by extension, also weak? I might be new here but I'm starting to see why folk think you're a bit of a minter m8. It really sounds like you struggle to cope with other people having a different outlook on things
  16. As a massive fan of the dominos hot dog pizza it's a big yes from me
  17. Alright all, Strange place for my 4th post on a football website I know, but as a lurker always took a lot of heart and inspiration from the stories people posted in here. My own experience has always been more in the realm of poor mental health maintenance than mental illness I would say. I always seem to be in these cycles where I'll slowly go from feeling pretty great all the way through to complete apathy levels of depression and wanting to lock myself in the house levels of social anxiety. Eventually either reconnecting with close friends or some random event will pull me out of it, but I've noticed that as I get older (I'm 26) the cycles get shorter and my base or normal level is lower. I think a lot is just since I was younger I've always been unsure about my future and everything. Went and lived overseas for three years after uni more to avoid making a decision about long term careers than anything, and moved back on a bit of a whim after a relationship broke up. Since then (March last year) been working a call centre job I hate and doesn't leave me the time to commit to joining groups and make new friends (it's changing shifts). A lot of good has come out of the move back, reconnecting with an old girlfriend and I'm really happy we're back together. Seeing a lot more of some old friends which tbh is a mixed bag, hard to avoid comparing yourself to the ones doing well for themselves, and it's still pretty irregular as their mainly back home in Perth or in Glasgow. But overall, can't believe I was so blase about just chucking in the 2 years I'd spent working in a pretty good job in a brilliant city to move back with no firm plans. Another downside is I've really struggled to adapt to how a lot of people drink over here again. I drink more than a couple less and less so that on the occasions that I do my tolerance is low and the risk of going overboard is way too high. Hangovers/the fear, even every 6 weeks or couple of months, have a ridiculous effect on my mental health. Decided this is the year I'm going to kick this up the arse, though. Taking a prolonged break from the drink while I come up with some rules to enjoy it more as I'd like to, and as an aid to finally chucking the fags and vaping. Started exercising regularly for the first time in ages with the aim of being fit enough to start playing rugby after the summer break (I know, but I'm decent at it and dreadful at football), and working my arse off to get a new job that I think would really help my self esteem and give me the time to do other stuff to help break these cycles I keep getting myself in to. Stuff like book clubs, Spanish language groups, doing some volunteering that right now I could make 1 week out of 4/5 due to the changing shifts. Anyway, bit of a ramble and, as I say, more to do with being crap at doing the stuff to maintain my mental health rather than a mental illness, but it's nice to write something down about how I am/have been feeling for a while. Not a big social media guy and while I feel I can discuss the generalities of this sort of thing with mates, I'm reticent to go into the deeper feelings with them for one reason or the other.
  18. Well we have exactly the same players on the books, but only two would be probable/certain starters when all fit. So not quite the same thing...
  19. Hi, non robot lurker decided to start posting, picked a right bad name in retrospect which is admittedly not the best start
  20. Hard to disagree with any of that, especially the bit in bold. Hanlon's drop-off is really worrying, especially given he's only just turned 30. Current deal runs out in '22 so finger's crossed he can get a spell out of the team and get back to his old form. Porteus' injury troubles are a big issue as well, and I'd agree we need a couple of centre halves in, in place of Jackson and, sadly, Daz. CDM is maybe the single biggest issue if we're going to continue playing this shape, and not signing someone specifically for that role (again) in Jan seems really daft. With the personnel we've got is there an argument for switching to a 3-5-2 or similar?
