  1. We seem to chase the same target all summer when it's clear to everyone that they're never going to sign. When they pitch up elsewhere we end up making a total panic signing who ends up being shite.
  2. Thought we did well until the first Celtic goal on Saturday. After three bad misses, the away goal was inevitable. Hopefully there's some pre-contracts already in place so we're ready for the first Europa game (I'm assuming Celtic winning the cup here). Looking quite threadbare based on who will be here: Stolen from afcchat June 2019 Tomas Cerny Greg Halford Graeme Shinnie Sam Roscoe Gary Mackay-Steven Frank Ross Max Lowe - loan return to Derby Dominic Ball - also out of contract at Rotherham Greg Stewart - also out of contract at Birmingham James Wilson - also out of contract at Man Utd Tommie Hoban - returned to Watford Mark Reynolds - signed for Dundee United until June 2022 June 2020 Danny Rogers Shay Logan Stephen Gleeson Derek McInnes Tony Docherty June 2021 Andrew Considine Michael Devlin Scott Wright Dean Campbell Connor McLennan Bruce Anderson Niall McGinn Stevie May June 2022 Sam Cosgrove June 2023 Scott McKenna June 2024 Joe Lewis Lewis Ferguson I believe Ross and Roscoe have signed new contracts which are yet to be announced.
  3. The atmosphere was very flat. The Celtic fans were pretty quiet even after the first goal and wasn't until their second that they were a constant din.
  4. Slightly less games with a much better pool of players I'd imagine. Surely couldn't bring on 7 subs or whatever it is in a friendly if you wanted to as well.
  5. I must say I'm shocked McInnes has been banned for making the same gesture towards opposing fans that Scott Brown was let off with.
  6. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/the-dram-busters-950742 Bobby Lennox claims no bias and even goes on to say he felt it was unfair that several Celtic players were drafted in to the squad for a friendly several weeks before the final in Lisbon.
  7. Pot calling the kettle black there. Fucking hell.
  8. No. I've seen plenty Celtic fans who are younger than me complaining on twitter that they should have had more caps. Assumed you were getting yourself upset over it as well.
  9. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/donsnews/i-feel-like-i-have-a-good-eight-years-at-least-left-in-me-says-don-lewis-31/ Not the standard "I love it here and we'll see what happens" type stuff though.
  10. He did an interview recently stating he wanted to stay . Was worried it was going to drag in to next year though.
  11. Miller and McLeish isn't the point. There was other players who many felt deserved Scotland caps and didn't get them. No idea why you're so wound up about it given the first game you remember is 11 years or so after they won the European Cup.
  12. What's that got to do with who's the better player between Tierney and Robertson (obviously Robertson)? EDIT: So if your first game was in 78 then it's fair to say you're not a fair judge of who were the better players at the time. My old man tells me the majority of the Aberdeen 83 team should have had more caps. It's not something I can really have an opinion on as my first game was around a decade later.
  13. There's no debate over Tierney and Robertson whatsoever.
  14. How old are you? Surely not old enough to have watched the Lisbon Lions play.
  15. #obsessed. Two posts Aberdeen on a Motherwell thread. Have a day off.
  16. I can't believe I'm saying this, but unusually some of the posters there come across as quite reasonable. Like any football forum though, there's plenty of numpties although they do have that special brand of arrogance that other clubs don't seem to have. I shouldn't be surprised but a good few seem to have the opinion that anyone who supports another club still has a 'Big Team'. Both arse cheeks are bad for it. Assume anyone at every club must have supported them as a boy.
  17. There wasn't any slavering over Shinnie or there wasn't more contact on Shinnie?
  18. Do you remember the slavering over Graeme Shinnie's 'dive' on Boxing Day? More contact than the foul on Hayes for the penalty at the weekend. Barely a word said.
  19. Aye ok then. Who wins and automatically spouts shite like "if we'd done that you'd be going mental". No, we'd have been celebrating a victory in a national cup semi final.
  20. https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17575817.john-hartson-if-celtic-had-behaved-the-way-aberdeen-did-all-hell-would-be-breaking-out/?ref=twtrec Even in victory they can make themselves the victims.
  21. He's also now in a team with GMS, McGinn, McLennan etc. There's only so much creative licence to be shared in a Derek McInnes team.
