  1. Eleven years ago today, Stirling Albion became the first team to beat The Rangers in a league game. Also memorable for the greatest challenge ever seen on a football park.
  2. “Scottish football never fails to disappoint” ”The Championship never fails to disappoint” Somebody needs to tell Leanne Crichton that phrase doesn’t mean what she thinks it does.
  3. Had a read via Google Translate of a couple of Norwegian newspapers and they’ve described us pretty well.
  4. He has a bit of strapping on his left knee at 1.45 in the below.
  5. There’s an article from yesterday on the BBC website on the England/Australia sporting rivalry that included this.
  6. The Rangers fans are used to drinking free pints out of the toilets in Europe.
  7. Chris Malseed. Was a student at Stirling Uni who played for Finn Harps so we signed him on loan. He barely played.
  8. Think if the players knew or cared, that game would probably have been 7.
  9. There might be a more recent one but we drew 0-0 with Alloa at Forthbank on Friday 7th October 2005.
  10. That didn’t stop them having reporters at Bonnyrigg vs. Airdrie and Albion Rovers vs. Kilmarnock. They decided not to cover 1 out of the 8 groups and 1 out of 6 Premiership teams. Seems an odd choice to me but fair enough. To then not have it as the lead story seems daft. Today’s programme wasn’t coverage of today’s cup games. It was coverage of the 8 games they’d sent reporters to and the occasional update on the other games if/when they could be bothered, which to me isn’t different from most weeks. Doesn’t matter to me whether they take up time talking about the Old Firm when they aren’t playing or, as they did today, Hibs.
  11. They only covered the games they had reporters at which meant they mainly ignored the biggest result of the day. Surely it should have been the headline story after full time? Some of the goal updates from the other games were really slow as well. Updating listeners on when goals happen should be the very minimum of a show like that.
  12. The other three seeds are the three group winners with the best records which are Airdrie, Ayr and Motherwell.
  13. The result is obviously the most important thing but It’s a difficult performance to properly assess. It wasn’t a great watch for 85 minutes but the players carried out the tactics well. Steve Clarke certainly thought so. He tried to play for a 0-0 with a plan B of keep it to 0-1 until the last 10 minutes, at which point you push for an equaliser. It worked but it’s a risky tactic. I can understand why he'll try it away to Spain but it seemed overly defensive against an average Norway. I’d have liked to have seen us try to keep the ball better (I know Clarke mentioned the passing accuracy stats were good but it was mainly sideways then backwards before being hoofed up towards Dykes) and offer more of a counter attacking threat.
  14. https://twitter.com/borderline_lvd/status/1667965688013529089?s=61&t=W5SE95i4ccokHChMIup6_g A blast from the past.
  15. If only the Bruins had the same winning mentality as the Maple Leafs.
  16. It’s easy to pull up comments from pre-season when predictions are mostly done on guesswork but this was from two months into the season when Stirling were second and had not long pumped Stranraer 4-1.
