Well done boys. Another brilliant result away from home in cup competitions. Hopefully the corner is well and truly turned now after a great fortnight. Delighted

Wouldn't be surprised if our top players were on that. I know most of our players are on £250ish a week. I think only the younger ones would be on under £100. Adds up to quite a hefty outlay on wages alone.

Great result today. Hopefully we can go on a run now and put the poor start to the league behind us.

Have heard figures upwards of £500 per week mentioned for some players in the league.

I think it is vital that at the very minimum they get someone to control the club's social media outlets during matches that is at the match and provide live updates of the action. The website being so far behind is not great at all and surely wouldn't take too much work to update a few upto date photos. The highlights is a miss but the fact that Louise Shaw has moved on to Rangers now it is understandable that no-one else has taken that on as yet.

The in game updates only really happen when Shane scores. No co-insidence I don't think that his girlfriend is in control of the official social media pages. I don't think she is actually at the games, that is probably the reason for the lack of updates. Surely somebody who does attend could take over that duties on match days though? It is a big thing for people who now live away from Elgin or are away on holiday etc and can't be at the game.

I totally agree with that. I really like Darryl's fighting qualities and think he does improve the team when he is in it. But is he the best at any position on the park and impossible to leave out when he comes back? I don't think he is. For me 3rd choice behind Bronsky and McDonald at Centre back. Not quick enough to be a wide player, behind Dingwall, Soapy, Omar and McEwan in midfield and never a striker. Left side of 3 at the back for me for him. As said above though McDonald does seem to be injured a lot so he could well end up getting a lot of gametime next to Bronsky in a back 4. His goal threat at set pieces has been badly missed in his absence.

I totally agree with the 3-5-2 idea. I think when Darryl is back we have the perfect set of players for that. As said above we need to get Dingwall, Soapy and Omar all central. Great balance in the team. The only problem I would have is the wing backs. Spark is more defensive minded and I think Price would play Cooper as right wing back. Even though he has been played a good bit as a right midfielder this season I believe he is also pretty limited going on the offensive. Well worth a run at it though.

For me it is actually very difficult to put your finger on why we have started so poorly, especially since we have had a few very positive results in the cup competitions. Recruitment was good at the start of the season. We have been very unlucky with injuries but that can only be an excuse for so long. Just have to hope this run ends soon and we start climbing the league. Don't think changing the manager would be the answer.

Aye that is true. I would say the positive thing about this group of players is that they are underachieving. So potentially if that changes it wouldn't really surprise you if they went on a decent run of form. It just needs to start happening sharpish.

I believe our defence is stronger this season. Dingwall is an improvement on McGovern and Shane Sutherland is the top scorer in the league and has a decent partnership with Hester.

Couldn't really be much lower. Shockingly poor start to the season in the league. Something has got to give soon. Either a run of form or is Gavin Price on a very sticky wicket very soon. With the squad we have this season there's no way we should be where we are in the league.

Elgin badly need a result here. Good cup win earlier in the season so hopefully that gives us a bit of confidence. Brechin 2 - 3 Elgin

Agree on KH and Shane. They could be the difference on us climbing the league. Not sure what the situation is with KH now though? Hopefully he plays the rest of the season but not sure where he stands with the betting charge hanging over him?

Although Cove predictably look very strong I still found today alarming how easy it was for them at times. With 3 away games coming up we need to be very careful we are not dragged into a relegation battle. If we lose the next 2 games is Gavin Price under threat to lose his job? I bet our wage bill is as big as it has ever been. Regardless of cup form 4 wins in 18 league games is simply not good enough. Strangely given our form I really like the strength and balance of our squad. Hopefully we can dig out a couple of good away performances and get back into the play off race.

Can see a 2-2 draw in this one. As said above both teams like to play good football so it should be a cracker.

Another shocking result in the league today. As much as we have had some great results in the cup and our team look strong on paper, the realistic position we are in is if we lose at home to Cove next Saturday which must be a good possibility we could move to the bottom of the league. Yet another season of absolute mediocrity. Sick fed up of it[emoji35]

Fancy Elgin in this game. We are on our best away run in years just now and Stirling are struggling a bit. Always a tough place to go for us though. Haven't got the best of records.

I would think that is exactly the case. Elgin will likely play him until he is up in court and gets whatever punishment comes his way.

I see it is 4 people charged in Montrose today after police raids on the gambling matter, including Hester. That sounds a lot more serious than just Hester putting on a coupon here and there[emoji107]

Disappointing news. What is the punishment in cases like this?

Totally agree it will do him really good to face some really good strikers in the Highland League. If he is going to make it in our 1st team that experience is vital.
