  1. Jeezee peeps, can you believe the absolute pish DC Thomson pay money to Jim Spence for? The Newsnow thread tonight actually highlighting Jim Spence (Dundee Courier and Advertiser) as reporting, and I genuinely shit you not, "Are good players at Dundee United finally on way to becoming a good team"? Needless to say under no circs would I take the clickbait, mainly due to the fact I refuse to believe anyone currently residing in the UK is more professionally comical than Johnny Vegas. Maybe I was wrong, DC Thomson, WTF are you people on? Tempted to contact Police Scotland Drugs Team. Concerned regards.
  2. Footballing legend Pele of Brazil has died aged 82, truly a ground breaking talent and influence on the world stage. Pictured below, tangling with a fellow footballing legend. RIP number 10.
  3. Happy Christmas my kindred Dee spirits, both to you and all of your loved ones. Keep them close and safe, always. Regards.
  4. Respect your opinion @Ludo*1, except one of them is a proven goalscorer / goal assist operative at lower league level. 1-0, top of the league and time to strengthen, sign Simon Murray. Regards
  5. Imagine we had a Dundee fan who performed well at this lower league level AND was a proven goalscorer who makes a difference. Get Simon Murray signed and accept the obvious praise Mr Nelms'. One goal and two assists tonight so far after 51 minutes at Gayfield. Make it so!
  6. No concerns whatsoever on that score imho, other than for some of the youngsters. The vast majority out of contract, in reality require to improve their performances considerably in the second half of the season to have any chance of remaining at Dens Park beyond the Summer. Harsh maybe, however very understanding and fair if we're being realistic. Regards
  7. Took the very words from my mouth, cheers and good health.
  8. Jim McIntyre, f**k me the very man, oh my days, him and John Nelms' managerial appointments. The reason I signed into P&B in April 2019. Sorry guys, blame the above dwangs for my subsequent input. Once experienced.....................................
  9. Agree completely Spudgun, Gary Bowyer was not my choice as manager either. However, back-to-back victories x 4 is to be rightly commended. John Nelms' has been blindly generous financially to previous managers, is it too early to say Mr Bowyer now deserves some backing come January? I think not, imho. Nowt changes with Joe Grayson however, send him packing. Regards
  10. Indeed, if I remember correctly they had to re-emerge as Airdrie United, they were not allowed to be named Airdrieonians at that time. No such obstacles from the SFA when one half of the nauseous bigoted Glasgow carbuncles ceased to exist years later in 2012. Regards.
  11. As far as I'm aware Spud, Kevin McDonald is not currently signed up as a player. Probably would've signed last season had it not been for the Donald Duck set up at Dens under Calamity James. Watched a few games between Derby and Mrs TCM's Stoke City before Derby's relegation to League One and Craig Forsyth is no wallflower or shrinking violet if I'm honest. Regards
  12. Agree with that 110%, Craig Forsyth would be a wonderful signing now approaching the end of his career. A first class left back who also plays central defence whilst also still a capable left mid, what's not to like? Still highly regarded at Derby however, out of contract next Summer after 10 years there. Thank you.
  13. David Beckham and Andrea Pirlo, hang your heads in shame and stick the current World Cup venue and location up your sad arses, however, enjoy the money, whatever your reasons. Merely my opinion as a human being.
  14. A truly right old blast from the past @Bigmouth Strikes Again, nice one. "I've drank too much, and I've said too much, and there's nowhere to go but down". Tailor made for us gentle apostles. Regards
  15. First time around in the 1990's I wore the DFC tartan from Lawrence's of Broughty Ferry. They were then located in Brook Street across the road from the TSB, however I'm not sure if they're still trading. Second and to date, very successful marriage in 2010 to Mrs TCM I used McCall's on the corner of Brook St and Gray St in the Ferry. However, I chose an alternative tartan, superstitious, lol. All the best @MarbellaDEE for the future. Regards
  16. Do any of you "elder-Dee's" recall a midweek night game against Hamilton Accies, circa 76-77ish in the old First Division and without consulting Mr Google, I remember we pumped them 5-1? A well-known Accies fan by the name of Fergie, stood on his Jack Jones in the TC Keay end yelling encouragement and abuse in equal measures for the entire 90 minutes. Witnessing this as a young schoolboy I was mesmerised, now as a seasoned footballing miserable b*****d, I only have maximum respect for the man. Regards
  17. Yeah, I believe it's the former Robertson's furniture store. Respectful urban explorers have been uploading visits for quite a while now, so I'd assume it's not overly difficult for some pond life to gain entry and wreak havoc. Great 3 points today, long may it continue and help change opinions, mine included. Regards
  18. Another hero of mine from the same era, as tough as teak they say. The son of a German POW who then made his home in Scotland after the Second World War. Recall reading whilst Erich trained outdoors, he was apparently always stripped to the waist, all year round regardless of the weather. Handsome devil.
  19. Watching Mrs TCM's Stoke City clinch 3 points tonight against former manager Nathan Jones' Luton Town. However, the highlight of the evening was her reminder for me not to mention Cammy Kerr again on Friday night after having a couple of weekend drams. Clock ticking, lol.
  20. In my defence @Dundee-FC92, my rants regarding Mr Bowyer are usually weekly, coinciding with and following an actual game, lol. However, your posting above merely confirms why this is the best thread on Pie and Bovril, ie healthy debate and discussion. Again, merely in my opinion, have a good weekend. Thank you.
  21. Spot-on @Bigmouth Strikes Again, it will realistically take a minimum of two seasons of educated oversight (which we don't have) to repair the damage from the McPake experiment. On another subject, regardless of his actual footballing prowess, time to lay off Cammy Kerr, imho. Especially when posters on here still coo for wasters like Glen Kamara who actually stopped playing for us in front of our very collective eyes. Unless I've missed my guess, due to John Nelms' managerial appointments since 2017, we are exactly where we deserve to be, lower half Scottish Championship. Cammy Kerr, judging by the standard of most of his colleagues, is the least of our worries. Regards as always.
  22. As always, healthy vibrant views and discussion mostly directed at what appears to be, yet another underperforming manager. Or is he? Should we be so surprised at results so far, given his previous managerial career record as so eloquently highlighted in the last 24 hours by fellow posters on here. Mr Bowyer is in fairness a charming fellow, who at the age of 51 accepted a managerial position based approximately a NINE HOUR round trip away from home, this only a few short weeks after being dismissed from his previous post whilst knowing nowt it would appear regarding Scottish football. End of career desperation does not even come into it, lol. Or indeed the club's recruitment desperation for that matter! Employed by Mr Nelms' and Mr Strachan only a short time after they had been rejected by their extremely very public shortlist of two, double lol. Questions now being raised I see towards the club owners regarding the proposed new stadium pipedream. Shambles of a club, with a clear unprofessional stench from the outside looking in. Merely a Dark Blue honest opinion.
  23. Gary Bowyer and Paul Hartley are the answer, gracious me young man. Thank you, however no thanks. Regards
  24. With all due respect @Ludo*1, I'd sooner have Charlie Adam, ably assisted by the equally youthful thrust and knowledge of the likes of Kevin Thomson than some lower English League no-mark non achiever, lovely chap though Mr Bowyer appears to be. As for your suggestion of Paul Hartley, holy shit young man. Weekend regards.
  25. Leave the new clown until the seasons end, consolidation in the lower league will be success as long as there's no threat of relegation that is. Most of the McPake player contracts will expire come then, which is a positive obviously. Then it's down to Tim Keyes to empty John Nelms, Gordon Strachan and the current manager. Appoint Jim Duffy, Tony Pulis or Ian Holloway to oversee the upstairs Nelms/Strachan so called contribution to allow our new manager Charlie Adam to thrive. Merely my realistic unpopular opinion. See what you're saying Ross, however Gary Bowyer has been and is, let's be honest an English lower league management version of James McPake. Leave as is, we are fucked my man. Now attained 19 points from 39, less than a 50% return ffs. WE ARE DUNDEE FC unless we're all forgetting. Regards
