  1. Don't get me wrong guys, five or six seasons ago no one would wish a permanently ineffectual Byrne or a bone idle thick headed and skinned McGinn anywhere near our club, let alone the first eleven. However these are desperate times following James McPake's bloated tenure and alternatives are at a premium. This is truly a Mickey Mouse standard of league this season and we have a 50% points return at this time. Wtf. I shit you not, if we collated most of the thoughts and opinions on this very thread we would be top of this Donald Duck league with room to spare. What on earth criteria is John Nelms being measured against when he has an annual appraisal? We have already been blown out of the water by Jim McIntyre, are we really waiting on James McPake doing likewise next season? Seriously concerned regards.
  2. May as well be honest and type what I'm thinking, Gary Bowyer is not the solution and never will be, imho. The 'successful' signings are mid Championship at best, however Joe Grayson and the currant bun, wtf is that all about. Gentle reminder to all, we are DUNDEE FOOTBALL CLUB unless we or John Nelms' have both forgotten. With the extremely restricted limitations at our disposal, why ostracise McGinn and Byrne when much to my and our dismay, they're still considerably better than most alternatives available in our midfield collective. Therefore, I also get the strong opinions out there he has not been allowed to sign his own targets, however I'm far from convinced due to his background managerial record he can be trusted with our precious finances. I am Dark Blue to the very core; however, this is an absolute ongoing shite state of affairs, that is all. Regards as always.
  3. Hopefully so @johnnydun my good man. From my own professional experience planning was never an issue with Dundee City Council, the problems always arose with Building Control, it was sadly dominated by a now retired head of department who oversaw and dictated a sparrow hearted collective of building control officers, imho. Personally cannot comment myself now, having left the building industry 4 years ago, however good luck John Nelms. Regards.
  4. In all fairness however Crawford, being a fanny, it's still considerably preferable to being a fecking DAB if we're honest. Regards
  5. Truly sorry to hear that news. John Duncan had already transferred to Spurs a season or so before I was allowed to attend Dens as a youngster. Checked Wiki, he scored 64 goals in 121 appearances for us and also scored for fun in the English top division whilst notching 53 goals in 103 games for Tottenham Hotspurs. He is still awaiting his first full Scotland cap much to the shame of the SFA due to the West coast bias/illness prevalent in the 1970's. Recall reading he grew up in Barnes Avenue, a couple of streets away from Dens Park and attended the same schools as myself. Guys like John Duncan knew what our club meant and indeed was all about. Regards
  6. Still only 4 points off the summit with a less than 50% points return, what an absolute embarrassment of a league! Anything less than a comprehensive three points tomorrow is completely unacceptable imho, no disrespect to Arbroath intended. Maybe worth having the resident garden gnome contact Jocky Scott to give the pre-game team-talk. There again, probably not a good idea to have tears flowing before the game, lol. Regards
  7. Yep, my thoughts exactly @Shadow Play and on that thought I hope you enjoyed the concert last weekend my man.
  8. Yet another John Nelms' appointment masterclass, ably assisted by the resident garden gnome. Recall a feller I worked beside years ago referring to our American colleagues as sceptic tanks and thinking because he was a Londoner this was cockney slang for yanks. Nope, it was because they were completely full of shit he stated, lol. New stadium, really, holy f**k!!!! Many on here were concerned on his appointment GB had only presided over mediocrity previously and were unfairly imho lambasted for highlighting the fact. Me personally, I'd hoped for the best whilst expecting the worst, however I've not been overly surprised by the resulting lack of progress. Grayson and Williamson, FFS! Let's be honest, a collective of minds on our P&B could achieve more than Mr Bowyer. Quite a few on here also correctly and rightly say he's not been backed financially, however would you trust him considering his background, I certainly wouldn't. Ongoing footballing shambles with no apparent respite on the horizon. As normal, merely my Dark Blue opinion.
  9. My very thoughts exactly my man, enough to make your arse weep. Hopefully we score quite a few more to help get his useless DAB arse out of Cove Bay and reinstate Paul Hartley for the good of their club. Mon the Dee.
  10. Artistic licence I assume in the drawing from the office of Archibald Keir Leitch (1865-1939). In addition to designing commercial / industrial projects in the UK and abroad he was commissioned in the design and construction of over 20 famous football stadia, from Dens Park to Highbury and Anfield to name but a few. Wiki has a comprehensive and very impressive list. Pleasing, yet completely expected result at Tannadice yesterday @PauloPerth. The rotten and fermenting fruit is still present in Mulgrew and Watt, fucking priceless as it is amusing, lol. Regards
  11. Nice one @Shadow Play, enjoy and have a good day in Glasgow. As the man would say, "And when you're dancing and laughing and finally living, hear my voice in your head and think of me kindly". Regards
  12. Impressed on the surface regarding this week's announcement and presentation regarding the 'proposed' bold new stadium plans. All still white noise at this time unfortunately, only time will tell. Dens Park Stadium, a historic and extremely hard act to follow, imho. Cue Dark Blue heartbeat image, lol.
  13. Likewise Dele, this ex Dundee reserve player has served longer having a successful career with Tayside Police/Police Scotland than the likes of for example Gary Harkin's has spent in professional football. Another astonishing John Nelms' appointment. At least Gordon Strachan hasn't been given permission for Mark McGhee's return, albeit whilst obviously allowing Mutt's to reside down south. We don't appear to have a financial pot to piss in player wise, however looking forward to the new stadium two seasons from now. Regards as always.
  14. Thank you very much Charlie Adam on behalf of Mrs TCM's Stoke City 'Mighty Potters'. Also thank you very much from me, who knows what may have been achieved in your two seasons at Dens with a professional manager in charge and even some decent players around you. Until we welcome you again at Dens my man. Cheers and good health.
  15. Guys, I've already highlighted this weekend we're only 4 points off the top even with only a 10-point return from a possible 21 available. I've attended Dens Park and followed our beloved club since being a young lad in 1975, with respect that's a lot of games, I can tell you! If the general consensus, is we are now a mid-table Championship club, fill your boots and enjoy. I for one will never accept that for Dundee FC. Merely my opinion, whilst fully respecting the opinion of others and their lower expectations. Regards.
  16. If so, just Wiki'd the 24-year-old young man who is apparently a French winger previously on the books of AFC Wimbledon last season, English League Two. We are fast approaching the arrival of officially being labelled a joke club on so many levels, too many levels to list if I'm honest. This is a dreadful period for our club, imho. I'm still a relatively fit 57-year-old centre half/sweeper or emergency right back and will be contacting the club for a trial, at least my mind and attitude will not be in question. Captained Clepington Primary to the top of the league after all. Regards
  17. Impossible to disagree Ross, imho. 10 points from 21 in arguably the weakest Championship in living memory, yet still only 4 points off the top, lol. Charlie Adam anyone, we'd piss it again by simply papering over the cracks, this despite some of the fucking idiots at the club, WGS included! Keep in touch at the sharp end though and the January window is all important. Sign any more Larry Grayson's however and forget about any promotion aspirations completely until yet another change of manager. Merely my, not overly harsh, honest opinion.
  18. Awesome list Ludo, great work my man. The contents however remind me of a scribbling on a toilet cubicle wall on a major local building site when I was a very young man in the 1980's. Something along the lines of, "From down the glen came Charles Gray men, a bunch of fairy dancers, one in ten were time-served men, the rest were fucking chancers." Pretty much sums up 90%+ of the above 'professionals'. Regards.
  19. Back in the 80's we had Iain Ferguson (had left Dens two years previously in '84) and Derek Ferguson in 88' on loan from the club formerly known as Rangers. Both these fellers would probably have been regulars in today's current Scotland pool call-ups, imho. Latterly, Scott Allan was always a level above anything we had available when he was on loan and probably controversially Simon Murray, on loan when the Scott Allan loan was terminated would still offer more than our existing striker options. Assume GB knows who Greg Stewart is come January, lol. No apologies for the pic from the 80's. Regards
  20. Signed up to P&B near the end of Jim McIntyre's multiple record breaking relegation season with him having been in charge for nearly 4/5ths of the 2018/19 league season. Impossible for me to remain silent then or since, lol. Incredibly prior to him being removed from his job at Dens he was actually on record as planning for the following season!!! A measure of the man's character was a pre-match or half time, don't recollect which, ex player introduction to a desperately slavering and grateful Tannadice waving a tangerine scarf merely months after heavily contributing to our relegation due to his managerial incompetence. Assumed his next appointment in a professional footballing capacity would be at Fort William FC, clearing the visiting wild stag and hind excrement from the actual playing surface. Anyway, nowt personal merely business, however I truly hope Dundee contribute to his dismissal at your club by hitting seven on Friday evening. 2 - 0 Cove Bay it is then, can't bring myself to type the R word, lol. Regards
  21. Nowt a better feeling than The Dee's performance cheering you up however Spud, imho. Remember back in the day with my best mate when we had won and heading home, when parting company one of us would say, "Sporting Post tonight?", to which the other would always reply, "Fucking right", lol. Eeeh, here's to our younger vibrant days.
  22. The lad Jakubiak was signed as Kane Hemmings straight replacement in what now seems like a lifetime ago by the clown 'manager' James McPake. Sheridan, unlucky with his injury October 2021 in fairness, however both are now sponging from our club and are merely lower league free transfer material. Get rid please, waste of a salary x2. Thank you.
