  1. HL will be proper competition for first time in years post Cove and Brora dominance - Fraserburgh, Buckie, Brora and Locos will all be there and too early to write off Formartine although it's hard to believe that one club could have so many bottlers over the years
  2. good reports on here about the QP fans participation, how many were up? also dons at home will have affected attendance...the cowden anti-cove feelings are really tiresome, what are your criteria for a 'welcome addition to the spfl'? the pyramid gives well managed, well funded and ambitious teams a chance to break through (if they want it) what are you afraid of?
  3. Oh and the cove poster playing things down and hoping for survival maybe hasn't heard from the committee or all those involved in the move from allen park a few years back, their ambitions aren't survival in L2
  4. still early days but I think all the signs are pointing to Cove winning the title - no surprise to either the bookies or myself! some 'faux' surprise or else ignorance about how good they were going to be, maybe the southern based posters thought their teams would demolish east kilbride & berwick rangers also? anyways don't be surprise if Cove do go up, that they put in a good shout at promotion next year also.
  5. why is it sad? how many other teams were in for him? if you had the chance to maximise your earnings, would you not do so? note however I'm fairly sure megginson could have moved before now, but his desire to play for cove is clear after few false starts elsewhere but he's presumably well compensated
  6. maybe Cowden took 100 less than Edinburgh City?? Anyways agree 100% with the pie eater, Cove on the up and they have the commercial set up to get them up another division at least
  7. how are the cowden masses being treated in the social club fan zone? surely you've taken at least 150 up??
  8. you didn't mention the top selection of malt whiskies .....loons weel worth a visit
  9. FFS a lot of precious b*****ds on here!! you are the 'big' team in a poor division and if you dinna run awa wi the title then god only knows....882 a the wye tae peterheid is fair shout - good luck for season cause i've got ye in a double wi cove
  10. apparently the fan zone in the cove social club is welcoming to away fans, although maybe the cowden hordes should try somewhere else...also check out the long cove v berwick play off thread, loads of views on pubs there
  11. wow three consecutive last place finishes for Brechin - think ye might hae a grudge!!
  12. they are rarely wrong because they control the markets to make sure that is the case - yes individual punters can win if they can get on but as anybody who bets seriously knows, that is harder and harder to achieve... anyways back tae the fitba - good result for Cove, or maybe raith are poor..
  13. hoping for 9-2ish for Cove, but 7-4 across the boards, bookies are rarely wrong and although not convinced by Hartley, will be surprised if they don't win the title but better value betting them to win individual games than 7-4 over the season
  14. showing my age fan the first thing intae my heid seeing this wis the image o bottles o the diluted purple paraffin stuff...and even weirder that moray cup fae sangs up your wye
  15. are you the same superbigal that posts on betfair forum
  16. brora, formartine and locos the obvious candidates but not convinced brora want it so possibly formartine favs but as a few avid SHFL fans will testify, they've promised much and delivered little these past few years, sure they'll be glad to see the back of cove
  17. has the Berwick #7 been with them all season? in the brief highlights, he looked a player..sure the sending off made a difference but looked very one sided
  18. nah peterhead and clyde were the 'big teams' the others in L2 won't have the same level of support both in fan numbers and in financial terms
  19. with this current team, cove would finish top 4, depending on summer signings could be favourites for the league especially as the 'big teams' have gone up
  20. well surely something after 40 years, similar to myself, gambling almost daily since red rum won 3rd national when I was 14,,,,sometimes evens is a good bet, men vs disenchanted men with significant difference in quality
  21. they were evens at start of week but best price with regular books pre kick-off (according to oddschecker) was 8/11 and 1.8 on betfair
  22. the attitude of fans of the play off teams is strange to behold.. QOTS/Raith - both sets equally in disdain of their management/team (particularly defensively), somewhat understandable in case of QOTS who finished 2nd bottom in their league, less so in case of Raith Clyde/Annan - Clyde crowd mostly positive about their chances although majority in disagreement with Lennons team selection at Annan (and considering his experience this is surely odd), although I sense the positivity (erroneously most likely) rose significantly when dispatching of a very poor Edinburgh City who hadn't kicked a ball since turn of the year Annan, although less vociferous and less in numbers, come across as supportive of and proud in their achievements, which is perhaps more reflective of their expectations at the start of the season Cove/Berwick - not much love (or posts on here) for Cove, especially from the stock car racers in Fife, but the Berwick fans, understandably based on their form all season but especially last 3 months, seem quite morose, resigned and somewhat relieved that this seasons pain will (soon) be behind them, hopefully they can rise black&gold phoenix like from the ashes fairly straightforward treble for me at weekend - all to qualify QOTS/Annan/Cove
