I'm not saying he criticised it, just commented how low it was after he originally signed. I don't believe for one second he chose not to spend his budget. It was either a case of he himself wasn't appealing as you say or the wages didn't attract. Given players tend to go where the money is I'm more inclined to go with the latter.

Budget and wages are two different things. Youve only to look at the squads past and present the last few seasons. He clearly couldn't attract the calibre of player for a reason. Eg: You don't sign the likes of Michael Paton released from a club a division below if your wages are decent.

Budget was definitely the issue. When Johnson took the gig on he was surprised how low it was (apparently). There's a reason why it's full of essentially young players. The wages are crap / can't attract the quality.

It's been coming from the last few seasons only Dobbie was keeping us up, and COVID. Too young a squad with not enough experience at this level.

Oh well. Gives us a chance to play the young inexperienced players next week....

While sticking the ball in the net is a issue the defence is our main problem imo. Trying to score more goals than we concede every game is no way to go on.

We look good, press high, take on players and drive forward but with little cutting edge in the final third for all the efforts then when we loose possession the defence is all over the shop.

My point was in reference to the comment full time / part time is the way forward, look at Arbroath. Soon as bigger clubs start sniffing about they'll most likely have a rebuild excercise. Harder to keep hold of your players when you're part time unless they have settled jobs outside football.

Arbroath are just on a fluke. Loan players will return and once bigger clubs come knocking flashing big money full time contracts they'll be ransacked.

Only this season? Weve had a relegation play off a few seasons ago, avoided all most certain relegation when the season was cut short thanks to COVID. People involved with the club have been jumping ship left right and centre for years not to mention die hards. Weird manager departures, off field antics. It's the biggest shambles of a club known to man. Stadium falling to pieces. I don't understand why it's taken folk so long to realise it. if this board ,mainly Hewitson aren't relieved of their duties quickly we will have no club left. Suppose we'll be able to build a few houses on the land though so not all bad...
