    Unfortunately theres no such thing as a covid safe bubble. people in all walks of life now need to manage their lifestyle and find a way to be as practicably safe as possible without impacting their lives to the extent they cannot live a reasonable existence. Again i say we should be positive and look for solutions rather than have a negative attitude and constantly coming up with negatives.

    Unfortunately don’t think what we come up with will matter … everything is going through JRG and there is not a lot of leeway coming from them about relaxing regulations

    Don't confuse negative attitude with reality

    Surely even the SFA must see the ridiculousness of this situation. A team from a country with a much higher R number than our own allowed to train here when most of our clubs have been banned. In a perverse way this may help aid our return to training and football. IMO we need to find solutions to any problems and obstacles in our way to lead as normal a life as possible and i see no insurmountable reasons that would stop the return of football in this country. Sport and fitness offer huge benefits both physically and mentally and for this it should be escalated to a higher priority rather than other industries which opened up purely for financial gain.

    Below is prt of the problem for our grade to restart … and until it is addressed we won’t be getting a start date

    In addition, the Stenhousemuir chairman is dismayed that the football authorities have not, in his opinion, addressed how part-time players can operate in a Covid-safe "bubble".

    "Living in a bubble isn't going to be there for part-time clubs," McMenemy said. "If you're a tradesman you could be in six or seven households a day.

    "We've been asking the JRG to come up with a protocol that recognises that but they have failed to bring anything to us. We come under the same conditions as Premiership clubs and that's not possible."

    I kind of agree with @0Neils40yarder tbh honest.
    I think SO'D will be better than Tait but I have never really been a big fan of SO'D, He was certainly a decent SPFL RB and at Tait's prime I would have taken Tait over him
    Can't comment much on SO'D last year , Tait however I think had completely lost it. So I guess I am somewhere in the middle but we need Grimmy replaced.

    ( I still think SO'D will go in at LB on Sat)

    Think as he wants to get into Scotland squad … part of the deal for him signing maybe that he plays at right back

    It's a not-even-veiled dig at Chris Long. He was offered a new deal before the end of the season and didn't re-sign until 10th July which was almost a month after our pre-season started (the assumption being that he had been holding out to get a better move) and save hitting the post against County he's been virtually anonymous in all 3 games so far.
    Last night he had 16 touches of the ball in almost 80 mins and didn't manage a shot on goal, Saturday it was 15 touches in 65 mins and against County it was 14 in 71 mins. For context White (who wasn't exactly dominating the game) had 35 touches in 90 mins and Dykes had 53 for you guys.

    Didn't the second Motherwell goal come from Chris Long's play though?

    Naw no having that … …  he fell over the ball it hit a Livi player and rebounded in the path of Campbell

    How are English non league teams managing to play then?
    You just said no chance of playing anytime soon and then you dont know for certain emoji848.png

    Aye right … … … Have you seen what they have to do

    Clubs, players, coaches, match officials, league officials, volunteers, parents/carers, spectators and football facility providers should read our full guidelines, which are accessible below, in addition to the latest Government guidance on COVID-19.

    A return to competitive football should only happen once clubs and facility providers have completed the necessary risk assessments and comprehensive plans are in place.

    A summary of key points to consider from our guidelines are listed for ease below:

    • Everyone should self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms before every training session or match. If you are symptomatic or living in a household with possible or actual COVID-19 infection you must not participate or attend;

    • Clubs and facility providers should ensure that their facility is compliant with current Government legislation and guidance related to COVID-19;

    • Competitive training is now permitted, with groups limited to a maximum of 30 people, including coaches;

    • Competitive match play is permitted, with social distancing in place before and after the match, and in any breaks in play;

    • Players and officials should sanitise hands before and after a game as well as scheduled breaks throughout a game or training session;

    • Ball handling should be kept to a minimum with most contact via a boot and the ball disinfected in breaks of play;

    • Youth football coaches are encouraged to limit persistent close proximity of participants during match play and training;

    • Goal celebrations should be avoided;

    • Equipment should not be shared, and goalkeepers should ensure they disinfect their gloves regularly in breaks in training or matches and thoroughly afterwards. Where possible, coaches should only handle equipment in training;

    • Where possible, players, coaches and officials should arrive changed and shower at home. Use of changing and shower facilities must follow government advice on the use of indoor facilities;

    • Participants should follow best practice for travel including minimising use of public transport and walking or cycling if possible. People from a household or support bubble can travel together in a vehicle

    • Clubs should keep a record of attendees at a match or training session, including contact details, to support NHS Test and Trace;

    • Clubs should ensure they are affiliated with their County Football Association.

    And you know that for certain?

    No and neither does anyone else for that matter.

    As I say just look at what SPFL have been  required to put in place regarding in respect of changing rooms ……

    not going to change anytime soon  and no chance of being implemented in our grade

  7. 1 hour ago, andy25 said:

    Or which most likely will take place.

    Have you seen the hoops that the SPFL are having to jump through withe regards to changing facilities

    We ain’t starting anytime soon … … especially if a certain team continues to act  like  Billy Big Baws

    Not really.

    Bolingoli will be punished. The question for the SG is whether football as a whole should suffer as result of a few individuals.

    Sorry don’t agree

    What about all the people he’s been in contact with since his return.

    Track and Trace is being flouted  as the game changer if Bolingoli’s contacts are not traced and isolated why should anyone else adhere to the rules

    Or like Cummings is it one rule for them and another for the rest of us

    Not to contradict, more to reinforce but I keep hearing not more than 3 households meeting up indoors (and a maximum of 8 people). Said so by NS repeatedly today in her press conference.

    I stand corrected … … 5 may be Wales or Engeerland so many different rules easy to get confused 🤷‍♂️

    Dressing rooms are going to be a big problem in our grade and one that will need to be addressed before we have any chance of playing again

    Most have the players sardined in on top of each other with no room to swing a cat

  10. 1 minute ago, cmontheloknow said:

    Relates to the top of the tier though as they're the only ones that will be playing on that date and the way the pundits were talking on Sportsound on Saturday, they were doubting any possibility of fans any time soon. It's their opinion and no more than that... but I would say the non-league clubs aren't to the forefront of thought with the SG just now and if we cannot make our dressing rooms safe for players (which the full timers can) then talk of fans is highly premature.

    Agree completely

    There is more chance of getting fans in than dressing rooms meeting the guidelines for players

    The guidelines at the moment are no more than 5 different households indoors even if they change that to 10 anytime soon how do clubs meet these guidelines???

    Genuine question… … …  surely  the clubs know this, so does anyone know what their club is proposing to put in place to accommodate this.

    Because it they are not we ain’t going to be playing anytime soon

    So there weren't any dressing room criteria guidelines in the document I posted, thanks for confirming that. emoji6.png

    We all just need to wait for the Scottish Government and the SFA to tell us what is required for starting, and nobody should be just making assumptions and passing them off as current facts.

    Number of people that can meet indoors is a FACT

    Or are you saying a dressing room is somehow different and is NOT indoors

  12. 13 minutes ago, glensmad said:

    Please point me in the direction of the bit of the link that I posted which makes reference to dressing room criteria. emoji848.png

    Everyone wants football to start as soon as possible …… just think some people are over optimistic and not looking at the glaring practicalities of the situation at our grade

    I’m the one pointing out the dressing room criteria which come within the guidelines of meeting indoors and how many clubs could come anywhere meeting what is required.

    Think at the moment it is 5 different households so how does 20+ different households meet that guidelines

    And before you start it’s completely different from pubs to have that many people squeezed into a small space getting stripped to play a game of football

    As I say some (very few) might be able to implement the guidelines but the majority of clubs will not … … which is a big problem going forward

    English Non League Steps 1-7 behind closed doors until further notice. No testing as far as I’m aware. Only essential club officials are allowed in the ground. Social distancing and masks on until players and coaches enter the pitch.

    Have you ever been to English Non League ground ?? Some of them would put our Championship ground to shame.

  14. 41 minutes ago, glensmad said:

    Undoubtedly there are going to be obstacles for clubs to get over between now and October, and the sooner the Scottish Government and the SFA clarify these the better. But I repeat (again), if outdoor live events are allowed from mid August (as per the current indicative dates) then there is no reason why socially distanced crowds should not be allowed inside football stadia three weeks after that date. If the clubs do their bit to get the stadia compliant, then why not ?

    The only guidance we can take seriously on this is the Scottish Government and the SFA. Anyone else's opinion is just that, an opinion. Until the advice changes, then that is what must be used as the target.

    So let’s be realistic here ……… how many clubs at out level have dressing rooms that will meet the criteria in the document that you posted

    As I said before I’ve been in dressing rooms throughout or leagues over the years and very few come anywhere near meeting these guidelines.

    Virus thrives (and infection rate Is rising) in poorly ventilated enclosed areas.
    So with 20+ people in dressing rooms explain to me how teams at our grade are going to meet the criteria as set out in the document

    The way things are going these guidelines are only going to get tougher in the coming weeks

  15. 34 minutes ago, glensmad said:

    The Scottish Government have still to stipulate what the restrictions on stadia will be. However, given they are also giving an indicative date of 24th August for "live events outdoors", it isn't logical to assume that three weeks later they wouldn't be allowing limited crowds into football

    Yip and it mentions physical distancing,restricted numbers and testing …… keep clutching at straws

    11 players + subs + management and physio = a minimum 20 all different households will never meet that criteria in a hundred years

    Also ( sure someone will be able to name them ) clubs rent park and facilities from local councils so they will have to follow the guidelines that the council put in place before they are allowed to use these changing rooms

    We all want to see our local teams back playing , but IMO  there are going to be to many obstacles for the majority clubs (>60%) for it to be viable

  16. 9 hours ago, glensmad said:

    I repeat, once again, the latest Scottish Government indicative dates say that stadia can re-open with restrictions from 14th September.

    But if you know better than Nicola Sturgeon....

    What are the restrictions?? Testing, Track and Trace, No Fans ????

    What are the guidelines for this date and where are they ????

    I’ll say it again, more than 60% of dressing rooms will not meet The arrangements that will need to be in place for this to happen

    Teams playing at the moment are getting changed in different stands !!!

    The infection rate is on the rise, I don’t see football at our level and probably league 2 starting or being viable anytime soon … … … sorry to say
