That’ll generally give you good data on cards issued. Without a load of digging and crunching, there’s not a good way to figure averages on cards issued across League One. In the Premiership, the stats are available and show 3+ yellows per game and about 1 red per four or five games. League One referees seem to issue more cards overall, around 4 yellows and maybe a red every 2-3 games. Geeky enough?

    Brilliant
  2. Iain Davidson has been chopping c***s in half for over a decade for you lot and that photo of Dougie Hill trying to strangle Falkingham in an off the ball incident is championed by you guys, yet you're always on here moaning about the treatment your wee star players get on and off the ball.
Hopefully we punt Hendry in the first minute and I'll be disappointed if Duffy isn't telling our midfield the same thing. #sonsgang

Can’t argue with any of that.

Our fans demand we get stuck in to anyone who’s deemed a danger man but get all defensive and outraged when it happens to one of our players.
  3. He was booked for taking out McManus out wide approaching the box, it could be deemed as a soft booking as I thought McManus played for it albeit was a foul but enough about yesterdays ref

I’ve always thought those fouls are soft. When an attacking player runs into another player and goes down, what is the defender meant to do? Surely it’s up to the attacker to run round the defender.
  4. The ref was probably a bit harsh with his cards. On a slippery surface like today, sliding tackles were always going to be harder to time. I definitely think he got the Airdrie one wrong. Think he was trying to even things up! As for the Spencer one on the boy that got injured, it didn’t look bad from where I was sitting, I think he was turning as the tackle came in. The highlights might prove me wrong though.

  5. Yeah not to mention the rovers fans who ran by the away end. Shouting abuse and provocation. Not point scoring but your fans are just as bad. So shut up.

What was he shouting? Get it right up you? We’re top of the league and you’re no? Are you Clydebank in disguise? Asking for a mate...
  6. Anderson has had about two decent games but has been shite since we played Clyde. Put a tricky striker against him and he can’t cope.

As for Nisbet, good luck to him. Didn’t think he would have done as well as he has in the championship. Had he still been with us, we probably wouldn’t have seen Bowie develop as well as he has. Ziggy will go on to have a far better career than Nesbit will.

  7. Zico’s alter ego posts are right up there with the guy who posted that he had buried a bag of the clubs cash under the pitch and wanted help finding it before we dug up the grass and put the astro down!

Is Zico/steakandgravy aware of how IP addresses work? I’d love a mod to confirm them being from the same computer!

  8. Airdrie support weren't in the North Stand. We had the South Stand the day we won promotion.

Tory Boy, I owe you an apology. I assumed you were talking about the Scottish Cup QF in 1995 when airdrie brought a big support through. Serves me right for being a lazy git and not reading the thread properly!

The crowd figure from that game will just be made up. Close to kick off here were still loads of Airdrie fans still outside so they just opened the exit gates and stewards stood with buckets collecting money.

No they didn’t. I was selling programmes at the North turnstiles that day and can confirm that’s 100% bullshit.
  10. I don’t think S Anderson is good enough to defend in a back 4. He’s too slow. I think he needs a couple of centre backs beside him to get the best out of him.

Grant Anderson has been deployed at wing back in the past, could that have been a better option than Mackay in a game that we knew we needed to attack in?

Why have Victoria and Tait (until last night) been given any game time off the bench lately? We know we are going to need these guys eventually, not getting them on the park won’t be helping their match sharpness!

Why on earth would you start with Allan and Baird up front? That pairing must be a centre backs dream! Neither is mobile or creative!

I’m a massive fan of John Mcglynn, I think he cares massively for the club but his selection and tactics are baffling at times.
