  1. Is Rabin Omar still with Elgin ? Always thought when he was with us that he was capable of playing at a higher level.
  2. Excellent choice. Listen to this album every few months and makes me think I am 16 again. Was hyped as "the sound of young Scotland". Stands the test of time.
  3. Will be a loss to Annan. Had worked hard to get fit and lose some of the excess timber he carries. His age determined that he is more of a 45 minute man these days. All the best to him for his effort and sure he will do well in the WOS.
  4. Would say the budgetary constraint is more of an issue in getting players in rather than our location. We are only five minutes from the M74 and 20 mins from Carlisle so not exactly hard to get to.
  5. Pleased with the recruitment so far. In addition to Steven Swinglehurst, Mark Docherty and young Russell Currie the following have signed back up. Alex Mitchell (GK) - Dependable, won't hear a word against him especially if his faithers about. Peter Watson (D) - Murphy is finding it easier to get rid of Japanese Knotweed than big Peds. Hopefully this season its all football and no more dreams of Rocky Balbao. Matty Douglas (D) - Waiting to see one of his throw ins make it into Cluden. Decent attitude. Nathan Flanagan (F) - Genuinely pleased and surprised to have him with us. Surely won't be long before Clyde start eyeing him up ! Owen Moxon - (?) - Can't remember where he plays its been that long since he featured. Sure he scored a cracker at Stirling two/three ago though... Still plenty of time till October but need another goalie and players midfield / up front as priority. Roll on real fitba returning!!
  6. I would have kept Sonkur. Fits perfectly as replacement for when Swinglehurst / Watson injured or suspended. Where do Stranraer train? Bit of a trek from anywhere when he stays in the Borders
  7. Not keen on the idea of a lop sided 27 game fixture list. Would prefer an 18 game season - home and away once over that. Short season could start 9 Jan , use Easter Monday as a suitable date, and would finish 1 May. Play offs after this. Some computer whizzkid should be able to schedule the initial games to have the shortest travel distance between teams to potentially avoid postponements due to weather. Thoughts?
  8. Good of you to think about your old EOS friends 10K! Not sure about what play offs you are on about - could be the promotion or relegation ones we feature in . One positive is we have three players whose contracts run into next season so more prepared than usual. Still not convinced that we actually see a full season. Heard that the earliest League 2 would be looking to start would be December which could mean possibly 18 games. Have to wait and see on that one. Best of luck if you somehow go up through this reconstruction malarkey. If not, any word on you guys moving nearer town in the future. Was there not talk of Lesser Murrayfield being used at one point?
  9. Programme is just OK, prefer it for the soundtrack TBH. Buzzcocks, Wedding Present, Orange Juice etc
  10. About time this thread emerged from a prolonged bout of self isolation. Hope everyone is safe and well out there. Missing the pre/post match crack but not the football so much. Went past Galabank today as part of my daily exercise routine and had a thought that with the season being brought to a premature end that there had been no player of the year awarded this year. Who do other Annan fans feel has stood out this year ? and should the POTY name have an asterisk on it on the club house? For me, the team had settled into mediocrity since Xmas and was a shadow of last seasons team. If pushed I think its a toss up between Swingles and Tommy Muir who both give nothing less than 100% every time. Happy for it to be shared this season.
  11. We seem to have done ok with keepers over the years at Galabank. Alex Mitchell has obviously been the main stay but there has been others who have been decent - Blair Currie, Jordan Hart, Big Craig Summersgill all spring to mind. This season has been poor though, used five goalies up until the shutdown. Strangest sight was seeing Chris Smith squeezed into a lycra top. Half the crowd thought he had been drafted in from the Monday night Darts team with the other half just thought he was the bus driver! To be fair he did alright for us even if not fit. Back in our SoS/ EoS days we had some real characters between the sticks. Chris Walker and Speedy Clarke were always good for a crack. The late Graham Potter could have went on to a higher level too.
  12. I Tonya. (Netflix) Excellent. Like a cross between Shameless and Dancing on Ice.
  13. Q and A session in social club tomorrow morning 11am. Open to all. To discuss the situation and future implications.
  14. Every game deserves its own match thread. Even this one. Annan to finally get their act together and notch up a much needed win. 3-1 to the mighty Annan. Attendance 342.
  15. So is it £2.50 for coffin dodgers then?... Asking for a friend.
