I am cynical and a lot older so I maybe struggle with this DoF stuff. I get your point but I don't see why a decent manager and assistant couldn't do this role. Plenty of teams in Scottish football seem to do okay without a DoF.

Call me cynical but I just cannot get my head round why a Scottish 3rd Division team needs a Director of Football. I've nothing against Holt but I feel his wage would be better going into the player pot.

I agree, I will be astonished if we are in the hunt for the league title next season. With what just passed it was definitely the time for massive change at the club but it's not looking likely.

The big thing is if the board get this wrong again where will we end up. Lets not kid ourselves here, if last season had been a normal season M&M would have been sussed a lot earlier and we could realistically been in a relegation fight the form we showed laterly. If we sign another squad like we have just witnessed we are well and truly fucked. I would imagine their budget is going to be cut quite a bit as I can't see them shifting huge numbers of ST's. It's a magician we need not a manager.

I would love to know who the posters on here are that are linked to board members. Certainly recently there are a lot of new posters giving the impression they are itk.

You will be right, political spin at its best . To be honest I cannot think of a manager that is a realistic option that would have 100% unified the support, even Yogi would not have pleased everyone. Doesn’t matter really who they appoint, for me the big issue is they are still all in place to make the appointment. Our support won’t be united and totally behind the club until there are changes in the ownership/board structure.

Sheerin doesn't fill me with overwhelming excitement, but when you look at some of the names being quoted he would be a bit more acceptable and at least I wouldn't hate him from day 1.

I would think something will need sorted soon. They will want a new manager/coach and a couple of signings in place before they try the yearly ritual of positivity spin to get us to part with our ST cash.

Out of all the names mentioned Alex Rae is probably my worst case scenario,this would ensure that my arse would not connect with a Falkirk Stadium plastic seat for a very long time.

Getting on a bit but Arry Redknapp could surely get us out of league 1.

I actually quite enjoyed it. Was better getting hit by a shitstorm as we did over a short period than the football wasting 8 months of my year. Playing a full season over a couple of months could be the future.

If we get Sheerin surely our ace DoF will be right up to Aberdeen getting us the cream of their youngsters on loan

That is the big problem the board and Holt have for me. I am as vocal as most against them but I have honestly sat and tried to think about managers that I would actually be delighted to get and tried to be realistic with this and I can't think of any that would please us all. If it is Sheerin will just have to see how it goes as I don't really know much about him.

I don't know enough about Sheerin to comment either way. I honestly don't think at the level we are currently playing we are going to get a manager that makes us all happy.

I completely agree with this. Too many fans are giving them a free ride as we have no knowledge of just what is going on at the club.

If we are approaching folk, I take it the quoted 100 and odd applications they received were all shite.

I agree, at 34 could probably do a better job than the shite we had last season.
