  1. I think it’s very hard to criticise a player who is being asked to do a job he clearly isn’t cut out to do. He gets bits and pieces of game time here and there and never ever gets the chance to play up top in a two, which begs the question why did McGlynn bring him in. I will however say that if you give him a chance in our current squad he is the most likely to hit the target. I think he is fine coming off the bench to see out a game or to bring him on if you are chasing an equaliser but don’t try to make him something he isn’t. We are never in a month of Sundays going to have 3/4 quality strikers on our books in the third tier of Scottish football. All about opinions though.
  2. That’s why I said earlier that if there is any cash to bring in a loan player it would be another front man for me. Allan is fine and can do a job off the bench but not as a lone striker from the start.
  3. No injuries that I saw, on another note 384 fans away to Ayr midweek in a diddy cup is an excellent effort, ultras sang the full game, well done all who travelled
  4. Well that was easy, we could have played without a keeper. I can’t think of Ayr having an attempt on goal. Thought Nesbitt, Oliver, Ola, Hendo all bossed the midfield and the defence were excellent. Really good performance.
  5. Nope Allan himself but Ola, Callumn, Nesbitt and Oliver have done well in supporting him.
  6. Mutant on the mic just now saying Falkirk haven’t played that well, has he just arrived at the ground.
  7. Ola been immense on the left linking up with Leon, we’ve played well and been the much better side
  8. Stronger line up than I would have gone with. I would have played Hogarth, Allan, Oliver, Lawall and filled the rest of the team with kids. Hope we don’t pick up any injuries.
  9. I think Rudden would be fine at our level but he is not a top flight striker. He’s probably on a fair whack with you so no chance of us affording him. Any loan we do get will probs be a younger player.
  10. I’d be bringing in a forward if we had the cash. We have Jordan Allan but he can’t play up top on his own, really feel we could struggle if McIver gets injured.
  11. Whilst I agree, let’s no get into the political talk. The thought of DPB resurrecting himself under some other name gives me the absolute fear
  12. I was at school with Liz Fraser and I’m still friendly with her sister and bro-in-law who is a big Bairns fan. Cocteau’s are excellent and Liz has a haunting voice, they have some fantastic songs. I also know Will Heggie who was in the original line up and then went onto Lowlife another excellent Grangemouth band. Grangemouth was an excellent place growing up if you were into music. Seen some good bands here The Rezillos, UK Subs. As well as Cocteau’s and Lowlife, Dead Neighbours were another quality band.
  13. When I was a lad we had some great bands played Grangemouth and Brian promoted them. I believe Ultravox, Simple Minds, the Bunnymen amongst others have played Grangemouth in their early days.
  14. Watched a wee bit towards the end of the game. Thought Celtic played within themselves but I suppose you can’t blame them now that the St Mirren fixture is the big top of the table clash in the big league.
  15. From what I heard last night, the only mistake I think the board and FSS board have made is not being a bit more up front with the members. The board knew they were getting the money from the FSS and wanted extra money by way of selling the remaining shares to the Patrons group. As Keith Gourley said last night this allowed them to give the manager more money to get a RB in and they have worked with the FSS to get us the shares we needed to reach the 25%. If they had communicated it better and explained the reasoning we might not be having this debate. I know it’s not everyone’s opinion but I see us as one anyway, the board are all fans, patrons and members of the FSS so we all need honesty and to be pulling in the same direction for the good of the club. If members want to stop their subscription that is their right. Lets now draw a line under this and back the team going forward.
  16. Not that I’m saying for one minute that I want him, but I see Josh McPake has been freed by Rangers. Weren’t we linked with him before
  17. I maybe heard wrong as the mic wasn’t the greatest but I’m sure the board rep spoke about getting the right back in and said something about speaking to another player.
  18. FSS should have the shares required to get to the 25% in the next couple of weeks and the remaining other shares will be sold soon. Meeting went quite well, bit of debate about how FSS money should be spent, some preferring it be spent on the youth, others looking for it to be focused on the first team squad. Everybody seemed to agree that as Falkirk fans we all want to see the club playing at a higher level and Jamie Swinney gave an insight into how the higher we go up the leagues it works out financially for the club. Looking at the demographics of the audience there wasn’t many younger folk there. FSS know there is work to be done regarding attracting younger members and Kevin Beattie is currently working with the Ultra group and younger members with regard to this. Thought the meeting went well and nearly all the concerns I had were addressed. I’m happy though to donate the money and allow the club to use it as they see fit. Others might remember a bit more of what was said but I’ve got a memory like a sieve.
  19. Yeah, I don’t have an issue with the money going into the squad budget but you know how fickle some of our support can be. I would also not be adverse to buying things the club needs, like electronic sub boards. Looks pish to see them shouting at players to come off.
