  1. Thanks, was just thinking of a normal season starting in Aug then playing sat - Tues for maybe 2months to clear a few matches before a winter break and bad weather take their toll. Hopefully next season will progress well and we can all support the clubs as they rebuild financially.

  2. Being a casual observer, could someone explain - clubs need or have to install floodlights at various levels to meet grading/licensing - but there seems to be very few floodlit matches from the spfl downwards, seems a needless expense to clubs. Guess all cups will continue in varying guises, lesser, different clubs taking part.

  3. When quite a few clubs don't have an interest ,or are unable to squeeze the junior cup into a schedule - could the clubs below (amateurs ?) move up to keep the cup going, maybe in name only. OR is it time to just let the junior cup go,or be renamed ? Trying to find a way to keep a famous cup going somehow.

  4. Thanks will look through the pages of licensing stuff if I stay awake ! Admit the pyramid has worked well in England, most grounds have progressed slowly and within the clubs budgets, and are a vast improvement on the basic County LGE demands. Good luck to all in Scotland, some really good clubs and fans, from what I've seen.

  5. Have faith in the Pyramid system, all clubs will have better grounds and facilities in good time, that's what all fans want, isn't it ? To stay as the juniors meant no progression, ambition. When the divisions are sorted and promotions start happening, surely that's exciting ? rather than stagnating in a cosy world.

  6. Let's put this to bed eh, the season wasn't finished - so no one really won the leagues, haven't heard many clubs celebrating the fact. Answer : prove your point next season and win the title in the right manner, unless your club be a one season wonder, soon to fade away to mid table oblivion !

  7. Interesting to read how the SFA works, licensing and membership etc, and how various leagues get votes, rather than clubs. Suppose when you reach a certain level, then a financial bond/guarantee at least shows the clubs are serious. Guess if you aren't happy with things - just stay down in the lower levels.

  8. I've read loads from junior clubs over the step into the Seniors, mixed viewpoints for and against. How do the majority of fans feel, are they looking ahead to progress OR do they want to stay as they were ? I'd like to think all positive, finances being the only doubt ahead without overspending.

  9. Thanks, would they find their level in the Lowland League one day ? Suppose natural progression sees champions promoted to a stronger League, let's hope that the way in the future. Can become boring seeing the same club win things without taking the step up to a better level.

  10. Only a quickie, does playing in the Scottish Cup hold any glory, as the FA Cup does ? If so let everyone have a go early on,then presumably only the better sides would make it through anyway. Decent prelim round prize money in the FA so it's worth going through 3or 4 rounds. Am not sure of the current Scottish prize monies, will have to Google.

  11. Being an outsider from down south, can someone please explain where the hatred of Auchinleck first began ? Is it born out of jealousy, envy etc ? Just interested that's all. Small club, biggish club syndrome or something more devious ? Maybe something historical ?

    That's not how it works.

  12. Imagine the headline 'stagnant spfl clubs fear uprising' as little Auchinleck make it to the spfl one day - then regularly attract 2500 (hopeful I know) makes some clubs look a bit silly and small time. Any (ex) junior club who can attract 1,000 + are very welcome additions to the spfl.

  13. Craigkillie, don't be a clown, let's stick to football and try and think of a way the season could have been ended, which was the question. Expect the darts would be average score with 3 darts or highest checkout 🎯

  14. The English FA Cup has teams down to step 6/7 where leagues have fairly strict ground grading. A lot of the lower Scottish grounds are basically County level with just railed off pitches, if the need for 2-300 seats and covered standing was introduced in Scotland, would clubs be able to do that ? Be great to have loads of teams in the Scottish Cup, maybe they'd have to play away games if they didn't have the desired facilities ?

  15. Can't see the likes of Auchinleck saying 'one day we'll be as big as Stranraer,Albion etc ' think some of the lower div2 teams have found their level - on the verge of the  Lowland LGE without a fight and unable to buy their way out. Can't imagine that little Cove had any big ideas 10 years ago, not quite a Gretna situation, but maybe some spfl clubs have had their day.

  16. Be great if a once junior club could rise through the turmoil and be a spfl club, sure their attendances would be better than the crap 500 some current sides attract - obviously they wouldn't be winning stuff every season but let's applaud the ambition. If all fails, they wouldn't be the first club to bigger things up.

  17. The only way things could have been accepted i guess, was if the spfl finished and said it's points per game for every division , League down to the juniors. That way everyone is treated the same way and has to accept the outcome. Someone had to take the lead but they were scared -  and didn't have the balls to make a decision, no surprises there.

  18. As expected the West region champions decision has stirred up a hornet's nest, let's move onto next season and hopefully the WOSL clubs can cause a few upsets in the cup again - a big movement forward, stop knocking everything that people say etc. Get behind every club, increased attendances, try helping - would be appreciated by all clubs. The juniors were great but now it's progression.

  19. Wow fine margins by the maths genius, going by the PPG method then I guess they are correct, if that's the way the season would be determined then we have to accept and move on. At least we have an outcome, was always going to be difficult and impossible to please everyone - with so many games and points left to playfor.

  20. All aboard the open top buses now then !  Guess these  'champions' won't ever be accepted as such, and  we'll never  know how the season would  have finished.  Let's  hope  clubs can push on without   being ruined financially, how would  the  better West  sides fare  v  Lowland  as I haven't  seen many  Lowland LGE games  ?
