  1. Agree on Border restrictions, they were utterly blind to the risks.
  2. Fiction Factories? https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/west-lothian-school-records-covid-23743315
  3. Yes, we know that now mostly in hindsight. Remember we did hard lock down for 3 months at the beginning, a little too late, but they did react and we were at the point of literally no cases and no hospital admissions in July/August, then began loosening.
  4. That's my point. People change opinion, scientists change advice. You could probably highlight comments from every politician, scientist and advisor from 12 months ago re Covid and call them out for it based on what we know now.
  5. I believe the can has been kicked down the road by the EoS for another few weeks regarding this season. I'm not entirely sure what they are expecting to happen.
  6. Don't you consider the possibility that we understand so much more about the virus than 12 months ago and therefore the advice/opinion given then may have changed completely from the advice we're given now?
  7. I believe there's 5 WoS clubs up for a licence this year. 5 also in EoS.
  8. Agree, but once the border club comes out of the regional bottom tier you're still at a low level, perhaps tier 7 or 8 and still have 30 or 40 fans but could end up in a league with 4 or 5 Tayside clubs. It's easy to say that clubs should "man up it's senior football" but that doesn't pay the costs. That said I think EoS clubs are comfortable with the travelling they have as things stand, I've not heard any calls for regionalisation. The inclusion of Tayside would maybe change that.
  9. No but there are still valid concerns on the cost of travel at such a low level of senior football often played in front of 50 fans or less. I hear one or two borders clubs have voiced concerns about the possible inclusion of Forfar West End, buses aren't cheap, nor is petrol money, plus it takes up your whole day. Not so much concern for one game per season, but how many may follow from Tayside.
  10. * a very small handful of central belt clubs who are not yet EoS members.
  11. Fair enough, everyone involved are fitba fans and want to be back watching (or playing) fitba, but it needs to be sensible and considerate to everyone.
  12. My point is, automatic relegation should be on offer from next season onwards as part of a deal for Colts and expansion. It isn't. There is no benefit to LL or HL beyond 2 teams up this year.
  13. New routes, that's not supposed to happen according to Glasgow Airport gadgie. Edinburgh Airport @EDI_Airport @easyJet has announced a new route to Bournemouth beginning 27 May. Flights to the popular seaside town will operate up to twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays during the summer!

  15. What strikes me is the complete absence of an automatic relegation spot despite going to 16 clubs. A complete sham and hopefully it doesn't get passed.
  16. I actually heard there were a number of Dale players leaving if they went WoS. Immaterial now of course.
  17. No club has said they don't want to finish the league from what I have seen. What does need to happen though it some consideration for players and officials., they arent pieces of meat to be ordered around when restrictions lift and devote 8 weeks of their lives to playing football which for many will be meaningless, and let's remember many won't be getting paid to play the game and have families. Club officials are volunteers. Covid has been difficult, very difficult for many and football may not be the first priority for some the moment lockdown is lifted. A bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss, rather than throwing accusations of cowardly/lazy around which is out of order, that language helps nobody.
  18. Fair do's, I don't think any club objected to it, and it was done before the season kicked-off so everyone knew the score.
  19. Fauldhouse is in West Lothian, Harthill is in North Lanarkshire.
  20. Maybe we should delete the posts in case it gives them ideas..........
  21. There is no solution where everyone will be happy.
