  1. I think it's his point of view that folk are being critical of rather than anything else.
  2. I’ve never come across him before today so you may be correct that he is critical due to his leanings. But it would be hard to level that accusation at everyone who has been critical of Cormack’s comments and there is an abundance of them. This whole opportunity cost is also interesting. In that thread they gave examples where there was no material difference in attendances and others where it actually increased following their TV deal. I’m not sure how that would adapt to any potential SPFL deal but it is really just speculation.
  3. What would be the difference between commenting on a player on Twitter as opposed to on here, for example. It's hardly weird that people make comments regarding high-profile, controversial and opinion splitting players.
  4. I think we will probably need to agree to disagree on it. It seems to be getting widespread ridicule, with many Aberdeen fans saying the same. I think this highlights why it comes across as disingenuous
  5. Yes, I believe that is correct. But the way I see it, while Sky may only show 48 games, the deal we have in place with them prevents us from brokering a deal with another broadcaster to show any more. So in effect, the deal with Sky is for all of our matches because it prohibits our ability to sell the remainder to anyone even if they don't get shown on Sky. That's why I think the value per game stuff is all a bit misleading.
  6. The thread I posted before details how he is painting a disingenuous picture of this proposed deal.
  7. He has absolutely framed the figures to suit a narrative.
  8. Aye, without discussing the merits of his proposals, Grant Russell has pointed out a few issues with Dave’s statement.
  9. I loved Maloney’s against Ireland as well to be honest. Not to mention I had a fiver on a Scorecast of Maloney and 1-0 Scotland so won me a few quid.
  10. Totally unrelated to the topic at hand, but your excessive GIF use has become a problem I feel that needs to be addressed.
  11. This could maybe rival the previous Aberdeen v Livi threads for being dragged out if we are lucky
  12. I doubt he will get binned. We’ve had examples of similar in the past where a slap on the wrists will get dished out and he will release a statement about how really, really sorry he is and how he will use this experience to grow and learn.
  13. That's entirely fair. But my response to that would be if we were predominantly anti-Scotland, then surely you'd expect a similar sized fan base like Celtic to have more than us? They weren't even second. It's just tiresome when you come on to join in a Scotland match thread you find half-baked, disingenuous comments designed to make it seem like we don't want Scotland to do well.
  14. Aye, so you did if that was the case you wouldn't have claimed the only source to support my claim was a Rangers fan article rather than the SFA itself. What would make it entirely redundant given that it's the most up to date information we have (I think)? Do you think the feeling of the Rangers fanbase towards the national team has somehow completely shifted since then? We've had the accusations that we don't support Scotland thrown at us for decades so I hardly believe that will be the case. I only felt compelled to comment because on an actual Scotland match thread, you tried to turn it into some sort of us v Rangers debate when in reality we all support the same (national) team. In regards to your question, I can only give anecdotal evidence based on those I mingle with on my supporters bus, but yes, I'd say the majority of them would want the national team to do well, it's the fan aspect that is an issue. The thread in question goes on to state it was data compiled from the ticket system that asked who you supported and also from forms sent out. Again, I am not saying 100% of Rangers fans support Scotland, I am just trying to challenge these claims that we are all Scotland haters and don't want the national team to do well.
  15. How about the (at the time) Head of Digital at the SFA who was responsible for compiling the data?
  16. Ah, so we can use selected opinions and anecdotes from team-specific fan forums to form a fair representation of a whole fan base? As opposed to, you know, actual facts?
  17. Disproves what, exactly? I never said there aren't Rangers fans that don't support Scotland, I said that I've not come across any on here and we made up the largest proportion of registered Tartan Army members at the last count (that I know of).
  18. Considering many football clubs have avoided sacking players for committing various criminal offences, then I wouldn't hold your breath.
  19. It's shite like this that causes folk to believe in the nonsense that Rangers fans don't support Scotland. As far as I am aware, there are no Scottish Rangers posters on here that don't support Scotland. And that's not to mention that the last time I have seen the figures were released, Rangers fans made up the largest proportion of Tartan Army members.
  20. That kit looks like one of the Diadora shockers we had around the mid-2000’s.
  21. I'm not arguing it would've been sung at any other ground. Whether it was done in protest against the monarchy or not, I don't think that means it wasn't disrespectful to celebrate someone's death just because you believe it was done in an effort to wind up the home support.
  22. Absolutely agree with this. We need the villains in football that we love to hate.
  23. I don't really disagree with a lot of that. I think people are well entitled to feel enough is enough and not take part in any further tributes or displays especially after a weekend of football was cancelled. I do slightly disagree that people weren't going out their way to disrespect the queen, though. Chanting "Lizzie's in a box" during a silence to mark her passing is literally celebrating her death. Again, I don't personally feel offended by it, but I don't think anyone could argue it wasn't disrespectful. Again though, I've no real issues with people voicing their displeasure or dissent against the Monarchy or the rendition of GSTK.
  24. If you're not fussed about it then don't cry when people say critical things about him.
