  1. I didn’t think we laid a glove on Queens Park at all. Struggled to get the ball under control, pass or even go by an opposition player, so we need to be ecstatic with a draw tonight. Was it the occasion getting to the players (again)? Was it the pitch? I’d like to hope the latter. And I don’t think it was anywhere near a penalty, to be honest.
  2. Thought he made the wrong picks this afternoon when the team lines were released: three of their five goals came from a diagonal over Kyle MacDonald and then his inability to stop the resulting cross. He was hooked after 30 mins and what a difference Craig Watson made. Tbf, your mob “doing the bouncy” at 1-0 up at Links wasn’t a good look either… but the “Make Airdrie Great Again” Trump flag is our best by a mile.
  3. Stats show that Montrose had 4 shots on target and scored them all. Pretty much sums up how this tie went for us. Honestly thought we were dead and buried when they scored their third and contemplated leaving, but why start now? Remarked when we equalised that it was set up for a Jonny Afolabi/Gabby McGill winner. Thought Jonny was unusually industrious for us when he came on and gave Dillon a torrid time and it seems McGill just about found his touch again. Never had a feeling like it, and not sure I could’ve coped if it went to penalties. Special mention to the Campbell brothers, obviously straight from their dad’s school of gamesmanship. Get it right round the pair of baldy wanks.
  4. Extremely tinpot. On the bright side I’m sure the Broomhill commentary team will love seeing Paul Slane run out at the Indodrill after not playing a senior match since 2016. Can see Ryan Conroy & Derek Lyle going in there too as they’re Ferry’s pals at Peterhead I genuinely fail to see any logic to this really other than it being a vanity project. Open Goal’s following is purely Old Firm fans (they openly make fun of the fact that Frank McAvennie doesn’t know any players at any other clubs in the Prem) and it’s not like they’re going to drop supporting them all of a sudden because a podcaster is managing them. And of course, all of this in the Lowland League. They least ambitious league in football since 2013. Imagine being at a Talbot, Darvel, Tranent etc and looking at this. At what point does the shambles stop and a governing body gets involved?
  5. Just watched the highlights… anyone getting some Taylor Morgan feels from Gabby McGill’s first touch?
  6. The big question mark for me tonight was could we live up to the big game occasion. Sadly it was a definitive no. For the first 20 mins Airdrie definitely looked like the team who’d been sat on a bus for two and a half hours, but as the game wore on we found ways through with some slick passing, and Dillon didn’t look too great when we got the ball down and ran at him. We’ve debated Gal’s merits all season but the long and short of it is that a clinical striker nets the chances he had tonight, and we’d probably be at least even. Felt we made the wrong choices in the final third all night, and McDonald at right back seemed lost all game. Other than that, we’re definitely still in the tie and at least we can take solace in the 4-1 on Mo’s last visit to the ground. Hopefully a more expansive pitch presents more opportunity to pick through the back line. For the return, I’d be sticking McCabe into midfield and bringing Kerr in for Agnew, and have Allan on from the start.
  7. First visit to Links Park and it’ll probably be touch & go as to whether I make it before kick off since leaving work at 5 and going straight. Where’s best to park? I genuinely think this is the toughest game of the whole play-offs and the winner of this game will probably be the victors overall. Hopefully we see all the usual faces return and make it as tough as possible for the home side.
  8. The guys an entertainer and without a shadow the most talented player I’ve seen in a Diamond. Shows how far we’ve come from signing 16 year olds just released from the big teams & Hamilton to getting guys like Easton, Frizzle, McCabe on board. Over the last few years (decade even) there had been such a disconnect between the fans and players but hopefully these guys are feeling the love after Saturdays awards and it’s enough for them to sign on for another season regardless of what happens over the next few weeks.
  9. I’m sure Quitongo was intent on starting a riot today.
  10. Still find it mental that Celtic paid money for Afolabi. One of the biggest wasters I’ve seen in an Airdrie top in a while.
  11. If you listen to any pundit, no team has a chance against John Hughes’ all triumphing Dunfermline side. Or something like that.
  12. Easton, Smith & McCabe’s against Motherwell - purely because he deserves an award this season and, well, it was against them.
  13. There was chat in the Airdrie support yesterday that Murray had at least met with Falkirk. The line a few weeks back that the desired candidate would be involved in play-offs… leads me to believe it might well be him or media darling Yogi for you.
  14. Listening to Sportsound on the way home last night and Jim Duffy spouting off about Dunfermline. He said they’ll have too much for any League One side and they have a really strong team - they’re ninth in the league and in a relegation play off spot. It got me thinking, is there any other manager that gets it easy from pundits as John Hughes?
  15. Rape apologists never win. Top trolling from Murray in subbing the keeper, Easton, Fordyce, McCabe, and Gallagher and still being able to score another. That new contract for Danny Lennon looks a quality move, eh? Du du du Johnny Afolabi.
  16. No mention of Frizzell in the match preview. Did the club appeal his sending off?
  17. Takes 10 mins to download an update, then another 25 to copy the update.
  18. For what it’s worth, don’t think we’ve got a hope in Helensburgh getting Frizz’ red overturned. Sure, he’s not went in with any malice, but the way he’s landed on a straight leg is what’s sold it to the ref. Don’t think there’s enough evidence from the video highlights to prove to the contrary.
