  1. Simples - plastic pitch, easier ground share, more money in. I believed Airdrie, Celtic Women & Glasgow University all play at the Excelsior now, with Albion Rovers training through the week... netting the club & stadium some decent funds.
  2. Firhill’s surface is a definite argument for plastic pitches.
  3. Our lack of a consistent goal scorer is the only thing holding us back I would say. If we had a McAllister/Megginson type it would 100% make the difference for us because we create some amount of chances, and we don’t have a forward that can reliably stick them in the net. That said Jordan Allan when given a chance has shown that he can be ruthless in front of goal, his strike against East Fife in the first few minutes showed us that. Given the same chance, Smith I think puts it over the bar and Gal would hit it at the keeper. As exciting as Murrayball has been this season, I’d really settle for the most boring of draws in this fixture. It’s been said above but a Cove win gives them the title, sadly. I don’t for a minute think we’ll see a Morton-esque collapse again.
  4. Haas set to reveal their car tomorrow leaving Williams as the only team not to have set a date yet... can only imagine they haven't got any wheel nuts again.
  5. Paton's now made his twitter profile private while Brett is doubling down on defending Paton. Presumably both will be guests on Graham Speirs' podcast in the near future.
  6. Slight away from the topic at hand but the Clyde thread has made for some uncomfortable outings of utter dweebs over the last few days.
  7. This seems a bit disingenuous. Its not as if fans of other clubs can have a direct influence in the signings that another club makes. They can voice their displeasure, post it on social media and make the offending club aware of their errors of their ways.
  8. Only way Falkirk get out of League One this season right enough. Had one telling me our fans denouncing the presence of Yaxley-Lennon at a game some years ago means Airdrie fans can't comment on the scenario. Their phone calls and texts to BBC Radio Scotland this morning were horrendous listening, labelling Goodwillie as a "club legend", a "model professional" and if he is to come back "he'll be welcomed back with open arms". Their whole ambivalence and widespread acceptance towards them has really been quite stinking.
  9. Certainly a lot of Clyde fans outing themselves as total moonhowlers. “Goodwillie is a club legend…” “a model professional on and off the pitch” “he will be welcomed back with open arms”. Scary.
  10. As expected, some Clyde fans outing themselves as total moonhowlers on BBC Radio Scotland. Texting in with comments such as “club legend” etc.
  11. This is what gets me. Five years they’ve stuck by him and made him their captain. Now they’re talking about him as one of the best players they’ve had. As you say, though, it is Clyde right enough. Had some conversations with folk I know today that defend him and hit out with the “never found guilty” pish. Genuinely saddened that is their point of view.
  12. Could not agree more. The shuffling, the stuttering… unpleasant viewing. Not as unpleasant as signing a rapist, mind.
  13. That Humza Yousaf's tweet was worthy of the "worst take of the day" monniker, but you've just taken the biscuit.
  14. Who specifically sanctioned this transfer, board or manager or sporting director etc? All equally culpable.
  15. When you think of the chances that our attackers have had and missed this season, makes it even more galling that Jordan Allan isn’t getting a game. Thinking Gal clearing it off the Peterhead line from and that from Smith.
  16. Watched the new Formula E qualifying there for the first time, what a strange addition that doesn't really add anything. De Vries took pole by 0.005 seconds right enough.
  17. Good point... well made... See the Penny Cars branding has been removed from the stadium, any idea when that particular deal comes to an end?
  18. They've got a wee coffee bar in the shop as well and they do a mean flat white. Often pop in to the Grumpy Chef next door for a toastie and a coffee from Inv Coffee before going to work in the afternoon, sets you up nicely for the day ahead.
  19. Very chilled Camden Hells. Canned, not bottled, unfortunately. But it'll fill a hole.
  20. Walk past it and go to Inverness Coffee Roasters if you haven't already. Highland Roast is out of this world. Currently on Symposium Signature Blend on a recommendation from a pal who used to work there. The other half got me a DeLonghi espresso machine and I'm still getting to grips with it, but I use a mokka pot if I can't be bothered with the hassle.
  21. Getting awffy bored of the constant Advertiser articles about Kerr McInroy. If he wanted to be back he'd be here already. He isn't... lets move on. See there's a striker playing for Cambuslang Rangers thats scored 40 goals so far this season... given we got Pyott from Thorniewood, could he be an option?
  22. You’d think they’d learn after the Dumbarton debacle… but no. Game management is still one of the key weaknesses in our/Murray’s game. There have been umpteen games where it’s felt like we’ve hung on by the skin of our teeth as well as gifted the opposition daft goals from absolutely nothing. On the other hand, I’ll be having Vietnam style flashbacks if I hear “there’s a chance for Clyde here if they can just find Goodwillie/Ally Love” again if a defender has the ball and their attackers are man for man against the defence. Said it at the Broomfield return fixture but the whole ‘ping the ball to Goodwillie and hope he does something good’ doesn’t really… work.
  23. This. Felt Gallagher offered us nothing tonight other than a neat hold up and pass off. He had a few sclaffs as well, I'm sure.
