  1. Would like to see him against Georgia. Think he deserves more of a shot.
  2. Southgate got his tactics right and they seemed to bypass our midfield. Both line ups were similar to Wembley game apart from Bellingham who was awesome. We had a better spell after changes were made in Christie.. I think we need more options up front so we can stretch teams. I don't think we were as bad as some are making out, if mcginn scored it would have been 2-2. Good learning experience.
  3. Concerned we might take it easy after our win at weekend. Georgia will also feel they have a decent chance of qualifying after a pretty strong start to the group and they have good players.
  4. Best game I've seen him play for scotland, was great defensively and offensively. Not normally that big a fan of his but he was great today.
  5. Mcgregor is brilliant, very good footballer
  6. He did go back a bit but he took the ball under pressure and rarely lost it. Looked ok I thought, can see his technical quality but seem unsure when defending. Also thought he could've made himself available more to take passes but didn't, not sure if that's a confidence issue. He was okay I thought overall.
  7. Whole team is tbf but not forcing his way into starting 11 it seems. Still a young player but likely shodt of confidence. A loan or even a permanent move to a lower level probably would do him good. Would prefer he went Europe.
  8. They did which I found surprising given kyogo is a better player in my opinion. But I think he was there for his physical attributes (similar to us not playing Griffiths up top on his own).. Up front is their weakest position I'd say but you don't consistently get to knock out stages of WC only by being well drilled, they have good players.
  9. Agree I don't think we are far behind, it would be tight but they do have a very good squad. I don't see them being the same level as Canada, Saudi Arabia.. then again I don't know much about Saudi.
  10. - Tomiyasu (keeps Tierney out arsenal team) on their bench - Mitoma at Brighton (been a star so far) on their bench - kyogo, hatate from celtic would walk into our starting 11, not even in their squad Last World Cup they almost beat Belgium (who outclassed England in groups and at 3rd place play off). Most of their players are in Germany (some in other top leagues).. they're a good side but are underestimated by EPL media in the UK.
  11. Japan have a better team / squad than us. I don't consider it a shock that they beat Germany. Japan are probably on par player wise with the likes of England, Denmark etc. Take your point about some of the other teams though who I think we're better than on paper, e.g. Canada
  12. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1954409/brendan-rodgers-john-mcginn-no-contest-scott-brown-hibs-celtic/amp/ Brendan rodgers thought so.. I think it would have been toughfor him to begin with.. villa was a good move for him at the time as they were in the championship
  13. Um ok but I'll give my opinion anyway .. Nathan Patterson should be our first choice right back now. Turnbull is kicking on at Celtic and should replace Armstrong or even McGinn who could move to a more defensive position. There's a few players at Bayern, hopefully they can develop.
  14. I find the idea slightly nationalistic (in a bad way) To be honest there aren't that many scots in london anyway that I can see.. not in comparison to irish, spanish, italian, polish etc anyway. Ps on millwall, I think the team was started by scots to do with the docks. Millwall area is actually north of the river at isle of dogs (where canary wharf is) but they moved south of the river. there is actually a big scottish influence in east london generally when it was being built up in the early victorian times, particularly in dockland areas.. theres a lot scottish street names.. poplar, plaistow etc have a lot of these but they're elsewhere as well.. I believe this was the scottish entrepreneurs around that time who built houses for the dock workers and named the streets after scottish places.
  15. Paul Hartley- hamilton, hibs, st johnstone, hearts, celtic, aberdeen.. 6 but I think hamilton were in lower league at the time so 5
  16. Wasnt that botherd about McCarthy, thought McArthur was better in fact. Mcgeady though had something different and scored a screamer v Georgia for Ireland that not many other players would be able to score.
  17. Actually think israel at 20-1 is worth a bet.. might put it on to console me if they beat us again
  18. Agree that he is our player and why do we bother investing in performance schools.. if the sfa decide there is no return on investing in performance schools then people like him will be the reason other young players dont get the opportunity he has... In fairness I also think it's the coaches fault for not picking him and instead picking players like Campbell, ferguson etc at u21 and being very rigid. Decent players but feel banks should get an opportunity which would also help his development.
  19. Would like scott banks. He was a stand by for Wales u21. Also he is Scottish..
  20. Steven fletcher is surely better and has fantastic link up play.
  21. Mikey Johnstone fits the bill here. If he can get over his injuries. I'd also like to see Gilmour (if he plays for first team at club). I feel we should now bring only players that are or are potentially excellent where we have strength, as I dont see point in bringing in more players of a similar or even lower level like ferguson, campbell. They dont improve us imo, just means giving guys less experience for no improvement in quality.
  22. Forrest should be rewarded for getting us to the play offs. I would like to see mikey johnstone if he can get over his injuries and find form, hes a potential match winner. Possibly gilmour as well.
  23. Most lowland league teams would beat them
