  1. Come on now. Notts County and Wrexham both have fine histories, being two of the oldest clubs in world football. Having said that, Wrexham have been out of the top 4 leagues for decades and I don’t remember either of them being in the European Cup semi-final, as both Dundee teams have been, or in the UEFA cup final like Utd or, indeed beating Barca etc. Dundee united were a defacto big name in European fitba in the 80s. Notts County and Wrexham may have larger crowds at the moment but you’re comparing apples and oranges and I’m quite confident that the Dundee clubs would pump them fairly comfortably. Scottish teams are incredibly well supported, especially considering the monopoly the OF have over the game up here.
  2. Fcking hell, don’t look at the Scottish Football Away Days Facebook page. Seems like the majority think it’s a great signing. Even a post supporting him… from a woman!! The world’s fucked.
  3. Woke!!! You don’t even know what it means you fucking half wit. I pity the females in your life.
  4. I know, mind boggling isn't it "he didn't go out with the intention to rape anyone" but he did it anyway when the opportunity arose so that's ok? How the f**k can anyone's mind work like that? or, indeed, how can anyone defend it? If a person has a mind that can rape another human being, pre-meditated or not, then they shouldnt be trusted, ever. Imagine your daughter, sister etc being around guys like that, guys that will stick their dick in her given half a chance, any chance, sober or drunk, conscious or unconscious - to hell with consent. As an aside, my wife had her drink spiked on a night out when I was there, luckily we found her collapsed in the bar toilet. I shudder to think what could have happened if she'd managed to get out of the toilet and whisked away before we found her. I'm also 99% sure that it also, incredibly happened to me on a seperate occasion although I think it was intended for my female friend, so in a way it lucky it was me that took the drink. This rape culture and acceptance of rape culture has to stop.
  5. I'm guessing all the rape apologists on here, twitter, Facebook etc are single guys who think that strangle porn is a good watch. But every single one of them will have mothers, grandmothers, possibly sisters, female cousins, workmates, maybe even female friends... and christ, by some fluke a few of them might even be in a relationship with a real woman, have daughers etc. How they can be anything other than disgusted by their team signing a convicted, non remorseful rapist is beyond reason. Shudder!!!!
  6. Jesus, just had a quick look on your Facebook and the amount of support this signing is getting is astonishing and tragic. Feel sorry for the many good Rovers fans out there.
  7. Arbroath have signed Sam Ford until the end of the season. "Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell today has added striker Sam Ford to his squad. 23-year-old Sam joins Arbroath FC until the end of the season from Felixstowe & Walton United."
  8. We have a very attacking squad - Hamilton, Wighton, Ford, McKenna, Linn, Donnelly, Hilson. Plenty of goals from the defence and other midfielders too. Dick's definitely going for it. ETA - could this be Hilson on his way out?
  9. Yeah, I suppose you're right. Could we hit gold again? Exciting signing.
  10. Massive jump for him but Dick must see someting to offer him a deal. I think Nouble had a bit more of a pedigree so not really fair to compare them but looks like he knows how to pit the baa in the net so why not, I imagine he'll be cheap.
  11. Agree. I think it’s naïve and wishful thinking in the extreme to think that we can get to the end of the season without injury/Covid/suspension having an impact on our squad. We’ve had all of these this season already and now with a smaller squad and the 5 sub rule it could be even more of an issue. The last time we played Killie at home we lost Low for over 3 months and Nouble for a couple of games. Or we could end up with a bench like v Morton in December. There is no question that our squad is good enough but there’s no doubt in my mind that we need 1 or 2 more just to keep the numbers up to a decent level.
  12. Strengthened as in numbers. I think our signings so far have been brilliant, we just need another couple to add a little bit more strength in depth.
  13. I agree that a small, close knit squad is a strength and that 20 is a good number… but I think we’re sitting on a squad of 18 at the moment. Some teams will have more than that on the bench on match day. This 5 subs thing is going to have a fair impact with teams using tactical substitutions more so I don’t think we can dismiss it. You could be playing a team like Killie who decide to switch out half their entire outfield players with 20 minutes to go, all for quality replacements with fresh legs.
  14. Very surprised that we haven’t strengthened the squad, especially with the new 5 subs rule and putting Paterson back out on loan. Leaves us with a very small squad- a few injuries, illness or Covid and we would be very exposed.
  15. Links park is more inland and sheltered than Gayfield. Still surprised their game went ahead thought as all other north east games are off. Structural damage and loads of trees down in and around Aberdeen, woman killed in the city by a falling tree. Correct decision to call off the games.
  16. I would be surprised if there are many games going ahead in Scotland today. I believe the Aberdeen game is soon to be called off. The “just get on with it” crowd obviously don’t have far to travel unlike a lot of fans, and all the players and officials. It’s not just all about kicking a ball.
  17. Yeah but every single forecast for the last two days has said the the wind is going to be very bad until later in the day. That ain’t changing.
  18. I’ve decided to give it a miss. Not worth the hours drive to have the game postponed late or abandoned. Don’t really fancy the stretch of road between Brechin and Arbroath either. I imagine they’ll be loads of trees down all over.
  19. They need to call this now. Plenty people, including me, travel from out of town so need to know asap. The weather isn’t improving much throughout the day so just make the decision early.
  20. Shame that had to end, great entertainment for a neutral. Morton would be at the pointy end of the league if they'd played all season how they are now. Even though they lost to us at Gayfield in December, I was impressed with how they played.
  21. I'll get stick for this from some but I fucking love Scottish lower league fitba. At times it's like watching a cross between real fitba and shinty, I don't think this sport exists anywhere else. Seriously, what's not to like about this? limited quality at times but exciting, up and at them, total committment, shit conditions, playing at a stadium that hasn't changed since Andy Ritchie was a la(r)d. Friday night, watching on tv as a neutral with a beer - ace. Give me this over the sterile EPL any day.
  22. Superb isn't it. Would love us to go for really simple, retro inspired design.
  23. Yes. Pretty much every game day this season so far has been good weather. The only games where it’s been what you would call particularly windy are the Ayr game in October and the recent ICT game. Oh, and Morton in December where it was a pea-souper, wasn’t windy though. A few Killie fans and some of our cliche ridden, shit media seemed to think our Friday game in September was windy, even though the game was played in near perfect conditions and the flag was hanging limp for a lot of the game.
