  1. Is Head being a bit of a shitebag here? I know the aussie tail are no mugs, but he is quick to take the single and leave them to face the bulk of a over when he should be trying to run the show.
  2. Perfect swing bowling conditions and they're banging it in halfway down.
  3. Yeah, I like Casey, but neither he or Goss are worth us hanging about for. I'm interested in how Blaney and Campbell do now, as well as Miller not being blocked.
  4. I'm even more annoyed now that I've read the job posting. That's at the very least a part time paid position. Really shifty that we can take in hundreds of thousands for players, pay guys thousands to sit on our bench, but refuse to pay someone the going rate to take shit from the fans on a daily basis. Also shitty that we don't pay the mascot, tinpot.
  5. Embarrassing that we're asking for someone to volunteer for this. We need to either pay someone the going rate or not bother with the role at all. Who has the time to do everything this job entails on top of working a real job to make a living? The only folk that could do this are weans or retirees.
  6. I could see Fuchs being a popular target in Scotland. Also, apparently we are going ahead with signing Fowler from Beith.
  7. There's no way we won't be making more signings. As with most years, the players we can sign tend to fall into place towards the end of the window.
  8. So, no danzaki in any of yesterday's squads or the golf outing, think that adds fuel to the "he's being punted" conspiracy.
  9. Saw them in 2019 and Axl was spot on then too. Had tickets for the original glasgow date, gutted I couldn't make the rearranged one.
  10. Unless Fletcher is absolutely desperate to play in the top division he'd be crazy to take a pay cut as big as mentioned above. Maybe a combo of a payoff from utd and a lower wage from us? I like him, but not sure if I'd push the boat out at this stage.
  11. Falkland is nice, but the second square isn't Mind bowling uphill on that for 15 overs straight.
  12. I mind hearing a story about a ground in fife that had the boundary marked halfway up a factory wall can't remember the name of it. My absolute favorite ground (other than my home grounds of meggetland and bailliefields), was Largo, lovely place.
  13. Loved playing at Leith, good for bowlers, and I got one of my 2 50s there. They also did pie and beans for teas. You forget the public path is there once you're into the game. Played a game at the meadows with a traffic cone at one end because we forgot stumps. Had randos just join in the game there a few times, or ask us to move so they could play frisbee. Another bowlers paradise though. Last week's debacle with Georgia reminded me of the cricket too, where the playability of the pitch usually depended on the league situation.
  14. OK, it's trawling youtube for dougie and Coyne vids time again.
  15. Nah, I just mute "announce" and "moult", then block anyone who posts "this is not a signing" under a club tweet. It's not personal, it's just half our twitter fans are dicks. It's fine if they think I'm a dick too, I can give them that. Looking at that squad list, next summer is going to be frantic, unless we dish out some extensions.
  16. This is triggering I'm experimenting with being off twitter completely forever. I usually get back on for the transfer season, but blocking half our support every time I rejoined was getting tedious. I'm sure we have other targets in mind other than the junior guy, but the outrage if we sign this guy first will be something else. As far as having to let players go, that's just common sense. We have quite a few fringe guys that don't really fit in anymore. The good thing is that we're hardly paying massive wages, so most who do move on won't be taking a huge pay cut. I don't think they are dead weight though, so I'd be reluctant to just pay them off, but i could see us working with them to find a club and won't stand in their way.
  17. Fair enough, the sponsor is boring and shouldn't be something folk care much about in isolation. Announcing at the same time as the strip may get more eyes on the announcement than it it was just about the sponsor. Plus, one less post to attract the "who cares, announce x" crowd.
  18. I'd say he has a tendency to lose runners, or more accurately, he provides them with directions and happily waves them on their way. He had a scoring streak that made him look better than he was, but at one point he was a decent midfielder that could put himself about, but got injured.
  19. So which one of the three are we going to be raging at leaving for a development fee at the end of the season?
  20. Grimshaw ran like he was controlled by the knobs on an etch-a-sketch. I still liked him though, no shortage of effort.
  21. I'd be all for anything that proactively improves the pace of the game. I don't like the idea of players being fined though, the penalties should affect the game itself, such as penalty runs. some suggestions: Limit field changes to what can be done while the bowler gets back their mark. Immediate penalties if batter or bowler isn't ready to play a set time after the end of the previous over. If you adjust your glove or pad straps three times you have to take them off. Pre mark the guard on the crease so the player doesn't have to ask the umpire. Ball Boys, multi ball ban long run ups
