  1. They had enough opportunities to win the game despite the weird declaration, although it was still a dumb decision for me. If that was meant to show some bravado and scare the aussies, it didn't work. I love watching the lower order cobble together the last 20-30 runs for a win. I've been in a few of those as a tail ender and it's great fun, especially the batter at the other end shitting themselves that I'll do something stupid.
  2. I'd say England have a slight advantage, but if the night watchman becomes a pest for an hour in the morning it could get interesting. It's been a good test match overall, But what are England going to do when broad and Anderson pack it in, probably at the same time?
  3. I think he'd be genuinely excited if I offered him a bit of chewing gum tbh.
  4. Maybe not having someone entertaining the Twitter roasters will make them go away? If transfer dealings are going on and no one from the club tweets about it, do they still happen? Do we really need someone stating the obvious to the masses so we can feel better? "Yes, we'll be looking to bring in a few", etc, no shit? We're rarely the fist choice destination for most players, which makes it difficult for us to get quality in earlier as folk are weighing their options. I'm taking a guess, but with how things went from January onwards, with hammell signing a whole team and then Kettlewell changing the system, I think we missed the opportunity for PCAs. Especially since we had no clarity on our budget until very close to the end of the season. We must he very close to the deadlines we set for the likes of Goss and Casey though.
  5. I mean, have we tried threatening to shoot him? Or was that just a Burrows thing?
  6. I thought they'd done enough to have a decisive finish while having enough shenanigans to protect them both, so surprised they pulled out that finish again.
  7. No one knows what has been offered to date, who has made offers, or how many offers it took to get us to finally bite. Whatever fee we end up taking will no doubt be a result of negotiations and won't (regardless of what you think about our board) be a case of us accepting the first offer. We would have had an internal valuation that offers would have to meet to start with. Anyone who was serious about getting him would have made their move or at least have enquired by now, and they certainly wouldn't be waiting to see what the daily record said. I have a mate that was expecting us to hold out for millions, which is just silly. Buyers are paying for what they're likely to get next season, not what we got last season. They will look at his previous seasons and see this one as an anomaly but hope he can continue his form, which isnt guaranteed. Jeez, in January we had folk wanting rid if him and he was dropped for mandron for the cup game, so we're talking about a crazy half season getting us a fee for someone we would never have dreamed of selling for anything. We also don't have as much leverage as some think, as he can sign a pca halfway through next season and go for nowt. He played through injury at multiple points over the last two seasons, what if he suddenly loses the motivation to do that? It will be interesting to see how much of our style of play under SK was down to getting the most from KVV, and whether he reverts to another system after signing a whole new forward line (assuming he doesn't have some Connor shields pixie dust).
  8. A big part of a transfer fee is what the player is being paid and what is left on their deal, i.e. the value of the contract. His amazing season for us is the reason we're getting anything for him, and his past record and age will come into the discussion too. I am curious as to what the add-ons could be, and how valuable they could be for us considering he's unlikely to be sold on. Maybe goals and/or appearances?
  9. Looking forward to listening to the 30min motherwell season review on the terrace on the way home tonight. Expecting a good 25 mins on Josh Morris. I always thought about doing a motherwell podcast, then I looked at the first 3/4 of this season and realized I'd have just been putting out a weekly list of who I think is a c**t. I doubt squarespace and meundies would be throwing money at me.
  10. Garcin scored a free kick in the 6-2 game v hibs. Lindquist was actually decent from what I remember, came in late in the season and shored things up in midfield. Resch and Doerner seemed to travel as a tag team, and were shite. The orient express of football. Gunni was a bomb scare, think he conceded 2 pens v st j. Said Chiba is another funny one, seen as a coup then Bob Malcolm assaulted him. Oh, and we has Bob Malcolm too, mind that?
  11. Okoli played quite a few games in my recollection, and had a particularly long throw in.
  12. Luca Belic? That may be too long ago. Maybe Eddie Nolan, although there was video of him eating his lunch at FP, so he turned up for at least a day
  13. I'm 100% on board with us re-signing KVV in a few years though.
  14. Saw him in Nashville a few months ago, was amazing. That was the first time I'd seen any of the pink floyd lot, so it was emotional. I had an argument with some Mexicans too, then we all got drunk together.
  15. SK hinted that deadlines had been set, so I hope we stick to them. The knock on effect of holding out for a player to re-sign and them deciding not to can really mess up a season.
  16. He was right in that we were unsavable if he took over. He has shown twice this season that he he's adept at sending teams on a downward trajectory, and hopeless at setting up a defence. He absolutely would have had butcher in midfield and Lamie in a back four.
  17. He plays like a fifa player being controlled by someone wearing gloves filled with bees.
  18. The ghost of moult's penalty starting to creep in to Kevs head, thought he was going to try and shoot from that corner.
  19. When he went to luton the announcement said we had negotiated a fee with "future economic benefits". Which probably meant we took a smaller amount than the training compensation would have been so that we could get add-ons.
  20. While you're googling how to deep throat sausages, KVV is researching how to do the slosh in preparation for his elaborate 30 goal celebration.
  21. I think Iacovitti should just change his name, seems like a common sense way to end the confusion.
  22. Such a tragic end to an amazing career. Almost a goal a game over 300 games is ridiculous. KVV needs another 250 goals over his next 240 games to equal it, but he's started well. I haven't learned enough about players and teams of past generations. It would be cool if our media team did some stuff on this, maybe videos with that guy who's voice we always use, or we could get our commentary guy to mispronounce names and slag off refs on top of old footage.
  23. I thought Davis and Snodgrass were great ideas at the time, and they ended up crocked and problematic. As such, I'm not for this Arfield one, also for his weird celebration.
  24. Dundee Utd need to beat us by 8, and KVV needs 2 goals. Sunday is going to be the weirdest 0-0 ever.
