  1. She's probably going to notice when you put the same amount on hearts, because you have to do that now. It's your duty
  2. You know what? Goss and Spittall were good. I liked how we set up, seemed a lot less hole-y.
  3. It had to be Goss or Slattery. Unless we have other midfielders hiding somewhere. Tierney maybe? Would have preferred Mckinstry and it Crankshaw up front, but if we're playing with a legit front two, KVV and obika are prob the best fit.
  4. Nice to see the board being berated for who the papers have linked us with. Regardless of who we end up with, every name that has been linked with us so far has been pure speculation from the hacks and punters, and a few favours to agents. Maybe McMahon should leak some sexy names. Like most folk, my list only contains who I don't want at this point. Mainly because I know the market we are in, and the best chance of an exciting appointment is someone I've never heard of. The reality is I'll support whoever gets the job. The "burn my season ticket and cancel my well society membership" folk need another hobby.
  5. Based on the fact the last manager we brought in with any Scottish experience (outside of McGhee MK2) was tommy McLean in '84 (I think), and the that only 2 current premier league managers have managed other teams in the division, Tommy Wright is exactly the left field candidate we're looking for. A total shift in how we do things, which is exactly what we're all crying out for. Cool.
  6. Nice touch by his agent to put in the "has to be persuaded" line so that it doesn't look like we passed on him when it turns out he wasn't in contention.
  7. He went from "I they think I'm the man for the job, I'll consider it" to "here are the top ten reasons why I'm the best for this job".
  8. That was painful. How that assistant managed to come off as even more of a gobshite than Kerr I don't know, but fair play to him.
  9. f**k it, lets dial the banter up to 11, and make the farewell tour as mental as possible. He's clearly fucking rubbish, but there's a good chance that's what we're going to end up with anyway. Realistically, if a single club employee actually said the word "intrigued", we are so fucking fucked.
  10. I'm not seeing egos, I'm seeing a team that has had it's confidence shattered. I love the idea that some have in their head that someone can come in and shout at the players and scare them into being better. I don't think playing with even more fear is going to work. I don't like most of the players either, but unfortunately they're the ones responsible for keeping my team in the top flight, so I'm saving my barrage of abuse until the final whistle after the last game, regardless of result.
  11. If kettlewell wins us two games he should get the freedom of the town, never mind the managers job. As bad as our current situation is, we have 2 games against each of the teams around us, plus at least a couple against the 7th and 8th place teams. We did just get hammered by raith and are hopeless, but the new manager must look at that and think it's doable.
  12. It's using our position to say he's available. I'm sure we will see a few more of those pieces in the next couple of days. What I really want to know is Barry Ferguson's opinion on the whole thing.
  13. Does someone pay the bookies to put o'dea and Thompson in there? Most of the other names at least have been going about online in places like this and Twitter.
  14. If courts gets an interview, our board are totally hiring him. Sounds like he will be open to influence from The Thread too.
  15. Seems like an easy one to make up. Normally when you tap up a manager they resign, they don't get sacked along with the rest of their staff.
  16. Looked like a weird one, but saw their league form has dropped, so guess it's that. I guess not everyone waits for only one win in 16 to sack the manager.
  17. For some reason I thought Black had managed someone else up here before coming to us via Celtic. I also had a fever dream about him signing sasa curcic, so my recollection of that era isnt great.
  18. He tried to talk both McCall and Robinson out of leaving, adding that to this season makes me think Alan can't be arsed hiring managers.
  19. It's not really a burrows thing. The left field appointments have been going on since McLean left, but it's been a mix. Mcleish - was still an Aberdeen player at the time Kampmann - managed the MYPA team that put us out of Europe. Davies - was a current player Black - more of a normal kind of hire, could speak French. Butcher - current assistant Malpas - current assistant, Donald duck. McGhee - bit of a coup at the time Gannon - f**k sake/soap/soot Brown - think him and Knox just happened to be walking by McCall - kind of out of nowhere, won the fans over with emails, loved a right back. Baraclough - see Gannon, stegosaurus McGhee - was that allowed? Robinson - current and previous assistant Alexander - insert unrelated life lesson here Hammell - cheaper than Simo So 7(seven) of our last 15 managers were in employment when we hired them, 5 who were working for us at the time. Kampmann looks to be the only manager we've taken off another team (can't remember if Gannon had been sacked by Stockport).
