  1. The aggressive/hardline/hairdryer type of management isn't really much of a thing anymore, and the idea that someone could come in and verbally or physically abuse the players into being good is misguided and old fashioned. Adding more fear to the situation isn't going to work. Some players react to being dropped, some need the old arm around the shoulder, and some need competition, some need a change of scenery. Few react to abuse, particularly when players have all the power anyway. What we need is someone who is able to look at the resources available and find a way to play to their strengths, capitalize on opposition weaknesses, and find ways to motivate and improve players. If they just need someone to call folk useless c***s, anyone can do that. Managing humans is pain in the arse.
  2. Would we take someone we all know for a fact shat himself in school, or would we rather go for someone who may have shat themselves in school, but we just don't know?
  3. Well, my words of encouragement to Dougie are "fucking miss ya big c**t".
  4. Hmm, manager leaves club then comes back to relegate them with another club. I've seen this script before and it was scuppered by someone with obscure taste in dinosaurs.
  5. The statement said "The chairman and non-executive directors have begun the recruitment process to appoint the next manager." So looks like they went out their way to say burrows won't be part of it. I would have preferred "the non fat Judas* football task force is looking for someone better than that previous dick hired" *I don't really think he's a Judas, I've just been saying c**t too much lately.
  6. Simo just started another job, so he's out. Imrie would absolutely leave morton to come relegate us. He'd say that's what he was doing too. My guess is Hughes or tommy wright, not what I want, but prob the best we could get. Lambert would be good, but he looks too much like Winston from still game to take seriously.
  7. That ship has sailed, came back, got supplies, and sailed away again to somewhere further away than they sailed to the first time.
  8. Theres someone sitting with a box full of gaffer tape and bed sheets wondering what the f**k to do.
  9. I understand the rules are we all have to try him once. I'd like to defer our turn to a future window.
  10. This does solve the dilemma of the cup final being the day after my family fly out here. Would have been a real dick move if I'd flown back to the game and left them in my house. They will never know that I would have totally done that.
  11. I'm seriously in the position that if we refuse to take action after today I'm cancelling my stuff, small gesture but really all I can do. We need to at least fucking try. Making the wrong decision happens and is forgivable, but sticking your head in the sand and hoping it all goes away isn't. It is clear hammell doesn't have it, and there is no way he turns it around. I'm questioning wether he was any good for the academy either, because he's pretty clueless.
  12. On a positive note Raith TV is really good. Their presentation of the game beats most premier league teams, and blows us out the water. I came from that game not hating them, so that says a lot. I hope they win the cup. It's a months subscription, I'm going to watch more of their games.
  13. I'll be honest, I'm starting to feel a slight unease about the current situation.
  14. If I was going to try and polish that shite, I'd bring on max for Danzaki, and put Mcginn at CB and Butcher in midfield. Then I'd bring on Crankshaw and Mckinstry for obika and Tierney.
  15. So many poor performances in that first 45. Half the team are making sure they're marked so they don't have to get on the ball, and the other half are passing to them anyway.
  16. The recruiter would have sounded people out directly, on top of the job posting. Regardless, it was always going to be a long process for this kind of role. I'd rather we took our time on this and made sure we got the right person. The business plan and all that stuff is already in place for the current heads of dept to work to, and we have enough experience around to keep things running.
  17. Was curious if they'd change the structure, but I think sticking with the CEO role is the right choice. I was going to throw in a speculative application since football experience isn't necessary, but I'm scared I'd actually get it, even if my answer to "why do you want this job" would be "to go on a personal and petty crusade against our twitter roasters."
  18. It's pretty much who we have, surprised Mckinstry is t starting but interesting to see Tierney and Riku start. I think that's a 433, not sure.
  19. I'm not playing the reverse psychology game, we're winning this.
