  1. Really concerning... We're so toothless. Just can't see us scoring. And you're on a hiding to nothing trying to keep clean sheets every week to bag a point. Fans get a lot of stick for not knowing the game but we've had this squad sussed continually. It's nowhere near good enough to go up.
  2. The players we're bringing in might not be what we're hoping for but I'm glad we're at least trying to find something in attacking areas. If nothing else it might convince dross like Morrison that they aren't certain starters. I'm hoping there's some easy 'mutual consent' break clauses early if these guys are total shite.
  3. Brutal thread. On the betting front under 2.5 goals seems nailed on for Saturday. Fancy a tight 1-0 win either way but a goalless draw wouldn't be a shock. Have a funny feeling we'll nick it. Goal from a set piece.
  4. Van Bronckhorst is a comically poor manager. That's Rangers primary issue really. Squad looks worse than Celtic's but not terrible. The manager is totally clueless though.
  5. We're missing some good NEDs (Slamannan boys -stand down). No idea what's happened with Doug Moodie but AL-FFC's attempt to go all Comical Ali on it is bizarre. There quite clearly is something to see and it's important it is nipped in the bud now before the new board becomes too settled. Could be we are thanking Doug as a whistle-blower in a few weeks time. Better resigning than carrying on in a situation you aren't comfortable with. Let's see what explanations are forthcoming. NEDs keep a board honest, and coach the less experienced members. We could do with a couple of really experienced ones from big companies. Not easy to get of course for a small company like FFC.
  6. I think some of the frustration around our loan signings up front is that we know we're so close to being credible as a league winning side. For the first time in yonks. We have the management team and the defence to get out of L1. We just need 2 more players of quality in midfield and up front. Unlike previous seasons where we've needed 8. It's kind of why these underwhelming shrug and try and roll a 6 signings are balloon busters.
  7. I usually agree with your posts don't think that's true. AGPar's post was excellent. It's not a desire that he's bad (I the same way being startled and alarmed by the horrific Rennie appointment wasn't a hope he was bad either - just concern). We've signed an awful lot of 'this' type of player over the past few seasons. The list is long of completely unproven players from English development football. Even ostensibly good signings like Reuben Sammut were horrific. Obviously he'll get a chance and people will be right behind him. We want a forward who can win us games..there'll always be that bit of excitement with any new striker (I had it with Allegria too despite the Partick fans' warnings) but as AGPar said its also very natural to be skeptical at the same time. McGlynn's improved the shit we had and recruited well at the back and defensive midfield. We've yet to see him recruit a forward at that level. Accepting Kai Kennedy has yet to play in fairness.
  8. Yeah I think the main problem is we're so short up front we need to be signing a guaranteed starter. Someone we can look to start 30 odd games and contribute. This doesn't seem that sort of signing. Neither does Allegria. More options from the bench. It's obviously the hardest area of the park to recruit for though.. and the most expensive. I don't envy the manager his job here. How do you convince quality forwards to play in L1. Unless you throw silly money at them. That's what we need though.. somehow.
  9. Have to think Jaime Wilson goes out on loan again soon. Perhaps to The Moon FC.
  10. Welcome new striker. I have immediately decided he's a 25 a season man and will lead us to league and Cup glory.
  11. Agree on Aidan Connolly. Was just about to say he's exactly what we're missing. I think Nesbitt is a far better player than Morrison. Don't think Morrison looked like beating that full back all day. Had that one cut inside that brought the nesbitt chance bit other than that thought he was firmly in his back pocket. You are right though that if he doesn't play we have even less threat. McGuffie is incredibly slow and nothing else looks remotely feasible.
  12. I think in general if we play badly and don't lose that bodes well. We have to do a lot better clearly but are capable of that as the Hibs game showed. It's just whether that's 1 game in 2 or 1 game in 20. Playing away might suit us better. Fancy us to get a win at Airdrie.
  13. I think that's harsh. We trust McGlynn because he's an actual football manager. Signings like Mackie, PJ, Donaldson and McGinn are vast improvements on the shit we had. He's just not had enough scope to improve the rest of the team budget wise. I very much doubt he actually wanted Allegria - looked like a cheap roll the dice option from the loan market. I bet privately he'd love to chase Morrison, Williamson, McGuffie and co. He's dealing well with a really bad hand. I think we'll get a lot better too. I just wish we had more money to give him
  14. Thought that was terrible today. Disjointed and massive gaps between back and front . Morrison is stinking and we have zero threat. Allegria looked awful too. On the plus side I thought we generally defended well and Yeats had a great first hour. Really like Mackie and Donaldson too. Thought montrose were the better side and should have won. Mind you Nesbitt buries that 1st half chance and we win 1-0. Still light years ahead of last season when we'd have lost 2 or 3 nil. Our forwards are rank though. What I wouldn't give for an Andy Thomson.
  15. The 'Can't you volunteer and fix it?' is always an interesting one. Could I sort our website? Yes, it's sort of in my line of work. Do I want to spend time out of work doing unpaid things I do in work? Hell no. We also have a history of treating our volunteers shockingly and taking advantage of their goodwill to essentially get paid jobs done for free. I'm sure the website will be sorted at some point. One of the great things about digital architecture is that it's (like payments) made what was difficult really easy for the end user.
  16. The website is terrible. Perhaps wrongly I'd say it declined hugely when Connor Park left. Buying tickets is a dreadful UX/DX and that's the most important bit. The rest of the site is also abysmal . We don't need a Gartner or Deloitte to come in and sort it either - it's pretty basic stuff.
  17. We look really solid. Which is exactly what was needed. We'll organised and really professional for the first time in years. But we are badly short creatively. No confidence in any of the forward options and we had better be keeping a lot of clean sheets. Light years ahead of last season though.
  18. Can you buy tickets for the Montrose game now on the website or only once Clyde is done and dusted?
  19. Pleased to see a statement. The edgelords who don't like it can f**k off.
  20. I'm quite happy with any new signings as they make Jaime Wilson appearing on the park less likely.
  21. We probably do have 1000 homophobes in our fanbase, yes.
  22. Imagine the absolute minter of being a Grant Shapps backer. It's bad enough being Grant Shapps but to actually look at him and think 'you know, he's the man to lead this country'
