Was hoping for Hamilton Accies u8’s tomorrow tbf.

I think the people behind the scenes at the club deserve immense credit, for the last week or so with all the uncertainty but also the past year, a lot of these decisions won’t keep everyone happy but I think generally we get most of them right with the best intentions. The amount of extra work involved at the moment must be a huge burden for those with commitments away from the club.

I just wanted clarity on the number of covid cases they have in amongst seemingly a raft of normal injuries, i can’t remember games being postponed in normal times because of injuries. I think it’s doubtful Hamilton couldn’t put out a team, St Mirren and Dundee have been forced in the last week to put out weakened squads.

How many players did Hamilton have out because of covid?

I don’t know if it makes a difference but I put Hamilton as my first and second choice as I have hospitality arranged for the ICT game which I believe is meant to go ahead.

Don't you need 10 over-18s (or 18 and over)? The list I posted has that but if there are a couple of new issues then it might get called off. I’m pretty sure Radio Scotland said the other day when talking about the St Mirren team v Celtic the 13 players need to be over 18 or something like that. Their bench that night hadn’t made a single appearance. Dundee only had 14 players available the other day and 3 of them were keepers.

Just got an email with my ticket from the ballot there.

Given that tickets are electronic, a random ballot wouldn’t be difficult at all. Probably giving consideration to include kids or not as some of them would need to be accompanied, if you’re successful for Hamilton then you wouldn’t be included for the ICT ballot. That’s roughly what other clubs were doing with reduced capacities.

I don’t think anybody would’ve complained if all we did was move Gold into that role and play Thomson from then, it’s the most obvious thing to do.

Having Gold, Henderson & Craigen on the bench and sending that team out instead is madness.

Gold has played a total of 28 games at RB in his career, so a total between them of 51 games, so not hundreds. The 2 points I originally made were that Stewart is a better midfielder than he is defender, I stand by that, that also doesn’t mean he’s a poor defender. Also I think Stewart, Gold & Craigen have all played a full back a few times filling in, and I think they’re talent would be better utilised in midfield by getting some RB cover in. Again, I stand by that. For the second time it’s probably better to just agree to disagree, after all football is about opinions. I don’t feel there’s much for me to add, as this tedious discussion is probably boring the tits off everyone else. For the avoidance of doubt, I was pleased Stewart played well at the weekend, he looks like he will have another month there at least, so I’d just like to highlight it’s pretty stupid to suggest myself or anyone else on here would want him to be shite just to save face.

He’s played RB 33 times in his career & played RM 75 times.

He played well, why would I be gutted about that?

In the space of about a week on here we went from the best part time back four, to now trying midfielders in defence and now our defenders in midfield.

Going by the logic on here anyway, signing Antell was a waste of time given we have Gold that can play in there if need be.

I’m maybe just chuffed to bits to get back to Gayfield after so long but I thought we played some good stuff at times last night and did pretty well for the most part, then that collapse. I think the squad looks in good shape and I certainly can’t complain at getting some RB cover in. I’d imagine/hope that we get a striker in later in the window once bigger clubs sort their loans out.

It probably best to just agree to disagree to a lot of that tbh, Stewart is much better in Midfield than defence as is Gold, but then I view a full back position to be quite a lot different to even a wide midfielder, similar physical attributes needed granted.
