  1. As always an excellent episode. In terms of the atmosphere I think the lads most likely to make a noise... aren't always most likely to be well organised to buy tickets promptly. As touched on, getting people together in one area is the easiest way to get things going. With the hope that the rest of the stand then get involved. I feel we've maybe missed a trick with the Airdrie game in making it quite a small area. I would have personally given them a bigger area given the stand won't be full. I guess if you still want to get involved you could stand in rows A-C, but what you don't want is a situation where the section is overcrowded as the back has been before. If this works and makes an improvement i would go all out to get a section in place in a front corner for the United game... as Iain Latto said we don't what to be sitting in the summer thinking what if.
  2. To an extent this is true, it's a really tight league and we won a good few games with late goals when there's been little between the teams. However there's been enough headscratching moments to ponder over the last 6 weeks: 1 holding midfielder after Stanton injured. 3 at the back with 1/0 CB and no wingback cover. Taking off Byrne for a bonus striker and then wondering why we're not getting the ball up to the strikers. Trying to attacking shoehorn players in week after week. If our formation and lineup was similar week to week I think we'd mostly accept that some teams would take more points from us than they did up to Christmas.
  3. Within hours of blaming alcohol and bad news for last nights posts Step away from the keyboard and the bottle.
  4. Agree with this 100%. Definitely seemed that they knew where the other one was and were playing well together. Vaughan covered every blade of grass last week. His workrate was superb. It was the subbing of Byrne that saw our attack fizzle out rather than Vaughan or Hamilton doing anything wrong.
  5. Looks like good demand for the singing section trial. Might be worth the club blocking off a few more rows for it pre general sale.
  6. Frustrating day given we could have won but there were plenty positives. We looked good going forward, much improved compared to the last few weeks. Vaughan was really good, covered a huge amount of ground, and I think was onside when he was clean through. The long balls to Hamilton were much less aimless and he did well in the air. Starting to look like a good partnership between him and Vaughan. We also looked good when trying to play decent pasing football. Atmosphere was better than the last couple of games too. Byrne had his best game since Tannadice too. If we keep faith with the boys going forward they will click and we will smash someone. Just need to shore up the defence and we'll be flying.
  7. Watched the Andy Barrowman video and as usual he comes over very well. Always impressed with the breadth of things he's involved with. He's up there with Stanton and Brown as important acquisitions to the club. Getting the seats fixed is a small but decent thing to be doing. It's the sort of upkeep that has been neglected for years but that keeps us ticking over and ready for big games. The speed of the response to discussion about lack of atmosphere at home cant be faulted either... survey out on the Monday, trial getting organised for the next cup game. This is a few months in and there's already a massive difference to do many aspects of the club. Every month and year these guys are in charge you sense more positive changes will be made that put us on a good footing longer term. Looking back at Drysdale I think he tried his best but just got too many things wrong and didn't inspire confidence. McCartney should never have been taking a wage from the club. Glad we've moved on !
  8. Are there not two clubhouses behind the 18th ? The one pictured here, plus Leven Thistle off to the right...
  9. The vast majority of fans would have taken top four this season. We're well ahead of that so far. Five points from the last five games is a poor return, however if we win the next home league game, we would go in to the next Utd game guaranteed that we could go level with them at the very worst. I think the Arabs will pull away from us and win the league fairly easily, but lets try keeping in touch with them, rather than looking over the shoulder, as long as we can. Hopefully the two week break before the next league game allows us to get players back from injury and/or recruit. Corr looked alright today and Turner looks to be a good adddition. The atmosphere at home games has been poor. The South Stand holds 3k even without the removed seats at the front. Im sure we can find space to accomodate a singing section that would get things going. Might be something that can be looked at prior to season tickets going on sale for next season.
  10. I'm getting the East Stand too... has the Livi website maybe somehow got your account down as a home fan ? Maybe worth clicking the link from the Raith website and creating another account with a different email.
  11. Unless someone is occupying or lodging without permission the police aren't interested: https://www.askthe.scottish.police.uk/view-category/?id=cc59a670-06f6-eb11-94ef-002248405a51 The Pars have done the most they can in terms of a club issued ban, but it's no different to your local pub banning you, if you get caught sneaking in the worst that will happen is you get kicked out/ a temporary ban will be extended. If two people commit the same crime within a football ground, one won't get a more serious punishment due to having been banned by the club. It's a complete irrelevance. Having previous convictions and violating a court issued banning order is a different story.
  12. A club ban has no real implications other than the club won't sell them tickets, and will throw them out if they find them in the ground. No one will get charged if they ignore it. The club may just lengthen the ban. That's not a criticism of the pars, the only trespass in Scotland that is criminal is on the railway. A court issued football banning order is completely different and has much more serious consequences.
  13. No complaints with the result. The Airdrie right back was absolutely superb all game. In general Airdrie stuck to their game plan and after 270 mins we've got no idea how to beat them. We won next to no second balls, amd we were careless with our passing. Keeper was the only player I thought did well for us. Connolly improved things and I would have him start next Sat. We're way beyond where we expected to be in the league, but the last few games have not been pretty to watch.
  14. Definitely true... cheap tickets generally go quickest on these days too.
  15. Nervy afternoon but after seeing us take 1 point from 12 v a Pars team that got relegated in 12/13... I'll take it. Any one know how many Raith fans were there ?
  16. I don't remember us taking 2000+ to East End since the 2011 promotion game, so it's shows how far we've come that some people are disappointed with that. Our away support has been class this season so hopefully gives us a lift tomorrow.
  17. I don't care if the pars are playing the under 12's due to injuries, I'm still wanting to see Brown and Byrne start together in midfield.
  18. Louped the barrier there a few months ago glorious feeling. 10 mins later a random guy gave me his day ticket for the subway which I took as a sign from God to bump the bus station toilets everytime in future.
  19. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sports-hotline-saturday-december-29-1508950#amp-readmore-target A decade later and nothing has changed re the Green Brigade
  20. It was a bad night at the office for Raith. Showed some character to get back in to it but we didn't show the same levels of quality as against Utd or the majority of the Thistle game. It's hard to be too critical of players who have been exceptional recently but had an off night last night eg Byrne and Kev. Everyone at this level has a mistake or a bad game in them. Ayr pressed us well and coming forward in the second half at points, you would have thought they had an extra player or two given how vulnerable we looked. We got away with the draw but I'd like to see Murray change things for Arbroath... maybe to a 4,2,3,1. I think Connolly deserves to come back in and offers the legs to get back and provide wide defensive cover when needed. Would be good to see Matthews get at least a cameo too. 3 points v Arbroath is crucial as we then have what are likely to be two very tough away games.
  21. Definitely agree with this. The last trip to East End it was well publicised by the club where the young team were going to be, so you could join in or avoid. No one with any sense wants anyone not to be able to see, however the atmosphere created at points last Sat was superb and probably played a big part in getting us the win. Hopefully the club can publicise a singing section prior to the next trips to East End and Tannadice (Tannadice is the more critical as theres always room to move at East End)
