  1. Absolutely fantastic. The subs were brilliant. Bring on equally good players in the same positions, with fresh legs rather than f**k about with the system.
  2. I'm a bit of a happy clapper generally but Ross Millen has the most cultured right foot in Scottish football. If Murray and him can't patch things up, then he needs to move on. Murray that is. Build the team round Ross. Make him player manager if necessary. If you agree please join with me in a 2 minute rendition of there's only one Ross Millen, starting in the second minute of the game. WE STAND WITH ROSS
  3. The atmosphere was good in small patches in earlier games this season ... but the last home game I remember having a good atmosphere overall was the Well cup game. A consequence of increased crowds is that the South stand is fuller. Traditionally those wanting to get an atmosphere going would head up the back.. but with less space free, and more young folk wanting to get involved, it's becoming more difficult to accomodate this without overcrowding/upsetting other fans. The atmosphere imo has definitely suffered a bit. The pars home game in the league was dire atmosphere wise compared to previous derbies. Im confident the BOD want to make the matchday experience as positive for every fan... be they the singers, or the guy taking young kids who doesn't want to be in an overcrowded area with potentially overcrowding/standing/swearing. I reckon before the season tickets go on sale next season they will have an a singing section up a side or at the back/front that will help ensure everyone is happy and gets the matchday experience they want. @FitbaSupporter You are right that what happens on the pitch also has an impact. You could see the enthisiasm drain from the young lads as the Airdrie game went on.
  4. Would be delighted with a win but even a draw would at least halt the run of defeats. Neither Ayr away or Morton home look easy later in the month so anything pointing to an improvement would be nice.
  5. All these rumours could be true or absolute nonsense, but I doubt we'll have a list of players getting released at this point. Would imagine the situation is a bit more complex: Some players that we would release if we go up but would keep in the Championship. Some players who's future is dependent on their form between now and May. Some players we'll keep if potential targets end up turning us down.
  6. Must be from the home Railway stand closing as that takes out the Millenium derby and OF crowds in the 96/97 season. Since then I think the only 7000+ crowd was Celtic in the cup (2013) which was with neither Railway stand in use.
  7. Was it not viable for them to continue at Pitreavie ?
  8. Impressive sales especially with the game being on TV. The back two rows and the section nearest the Railway Stand seem to be out of action. Think that leaves about 2800 seats. Can see the Railway opened again. I've never thought we could sustain a title challenge all season but it's slightly galling looking back at the results since Tannadice. Even with a slump, it's easy to see where an extra four points could have come from, taking us in level to this game. Hopefully a week off gives us time to recharge and come back better than we have been.
  9. Worst bit about this is Todorov was waiting for what seemed like an age in all that space.
  10. The defending was woeful. The space left at the goal was criminal. In the second half even simple route 1 balls from Airdrie were causing havoc. One minor positive is the back 4 all playing the full 90. At Firhill on the opening day the defence looked like they had met for the first time (Murray had just signed) and we kicked on from that... so maybe we can improve from here. Midfield/going forward we have no idea at the moment. All first half Easton kept having to drop deep. Get the ball. Watch Dick overlap. Decide he didnt fancy that option. Step inside. Square it to Brown. I'm not singling Easton out for blame but this slowed things right down and killed any momentum. Turner and Smith offered little. I cant blame Smith he's been asked to play all over the place. The team that finished last night at least created a few half chances but Airdrie defended everything so well so we were mainly restricted to Connolly shots from 20 yards out. Hamilton gets pass marks last night. Got to get a result asap and build some confidence. For me v Utd it's got to be 4 at the back and a packed midfield at the expense of playing a load of low on confidence attacking players out of position. Atmosphere wise... fair play to the singing section it started off well but what was happening on the pitch was never going to help. Airdrie were LOUD.
  11. Went last season with Raith. Was stood right on the segregation line. Zero issues. The extent of the intimidation was one lone oddball Rangers fan shouting Mon the pars at us. I'm sure people have bad experiences at Ibrox and Celtic Park but I've never found the locals to be particuarly riled up by Raith visiting.
  12. As always an excellent episode. In terms of the atmosphere I think the lads most likely to make a noise... aren't always most likely to be well organised to buy tickets promptly. As touched on, getting people together in one area is the easiest way to get things going. With the hope that the rest of the stand then get involved. I feel we've maybe missed a trick with the Airdrie game in making it quite a small area. I would have personally given them a bigger area given the stand won't be full. I guess if you still want to get involved you could stand in rows A-C, but what you don't want is a situation where the section is overcrowded as the back has been before. If this works and makes an improvement i would go all out to get a section in place in a front corner for the United game... as Iain Latto said we don't what to be sitting in the summer thinking what if.
  13. To an extent this is true, it's a really tight league and we won a good few games with late goals when there's been little between the teams. However there's been enough headscratching moments to ponder over the last 6 weeks: 1 holding midfielder after Stanton injured. 3 at the back with 1/0 CB and no wingback cover. Taking off Byrne for a bonus striker and then wondering why we're not getting the ball up to the strikers. Trying to attacking shoehorn players in week after week. If our formation and lineup was similar week to week I think we'd mostly accept that some teams would take more points from us than they did up to Christmas.
  14. Within hours of blaming alcohol and bad news for last nights posts Step away from the keyboard and the bottle.
  15. Agree with this 100%. Definitely seemed that they knew where the other one was and were playing well together. Vaughan covered every blade of grass last week. His workrate was superb. It was the subbing of Byrne that saw our attack fizzle out rather than Vaughan or Hamilton doing anything wrong.
  16. Looks like good demand for the singing section trial. Might be worth the club blocking off a few more rows for it pre general sale.
  17. Frustrating day given we could have won but there were plenty positives. We looked good going forward, much improved compared to the last few weeks. Vaughan was really good, covered a huge amount of ground, and I think was onside when he was clean through. The long balls to Hamilton were much less aimless and he did well in the air. Starting to look like a good partnership between him and Vaughan. We also looked good when trying to play decent pasing football. Atmosphere was better than the last couple of games too. Byrne had his best game since Tannadice too. If we keep faith with the boys going forward they will click and we will smash someone. Just need to shore up the defence and we'll be flying.
  18. Watched the Andy Barrowman video and as usual he comes over very well. Always impressed with the breadth of things he's involved with. He's up there with Stanton and Brown as important acquisitions to the club. Getting the seats fixed is a small but decent thing to be doing. It's the sort of upkeep that has been neglected for years but that keeps us ticking over and ready for big games. The speed of the response to discussion about lack of atmosphere at home cant be faulted either... survey out on the Monday, trial getting organised for the next cup game. This is a few months in and there's already a massive difference to do many aspects of the club. Every month and year these guys are in charge you sense more positive changes will be made that put us on a good footing longer term. Looking back at Drysdale I think he tried his best but just got too many things wrong and didn't inspire confidence. McCartney should never have been taking a wage from the club. Glad we've moved on !
  19. Are there not two clubhouses behind the 18th ? The one pictured here, plus Leven Thistle off to the right...
