  1. I wonder where Strain and Baccus will end up. Hopefully not at another Scottish team.
  2. And that’s the main difference these days. We get buttons for our players if anything at all.
  3. Yup. It has ever been thus and losing those players never seems to get any less disappointing/annoying. Back in the day, I remember being devastated as a young lad to lose players like McGarvey, McAvennie and Clarke, but the blow was softened massively by the fact they all went to top English sides. I never could and never will get used to losing players to the likes of Aberdeen, Dundee United or Hibs. I know their spending power is greater than ours but it still sticks in the craw. But you’re right, as much as it pains me to say it, we’re better keeping our house in order, even if it means losing players to our competitors.
  4. It’s one thing to think that Killie will beat Dundee because they are a better team, but utter nonsense to suggest that Tony Doc would send a team of professional footballers out to deliberately lose a match, just because he’s pals with the manager of the other team. Anyone thinking that is a realistic possibility is an idiot (and I know you weren’t saying that, merely quoting some Dundee fans).
  5. I assume Wright will be suspended. Is that good for us? Is he any good?
  6. Fair enough mate, I was just applying the simple logic that you were top 6 standard because…….erm……..you’re in the top 6.
  7. Beg to differ. You are top 6 level because you’re there. No question it was a bad day today, but as one of your fans said on the match thread, we’re just a bit further down the journey than you.
  8. I think we’ve brought bigger in the past too. I’m sure we had more at the Cody Cooke hat trick game.
  9. By the way, how good is it to have Ryan Strain back. What a difference he makes.
  10. Aye it’s silly to think St. Mirren could sell out the away end, when Dundee didn’t even get close to selling out their home end.
  11. Boyd-Munce’s corners are shite. Get someone else on them. It’s just a wasted chance every time.
  12. Yeah was just thinking that’s a very attacking looking side. I wanted Olusanya to come back in but I expected it to be at the expense of McMenamin, not Kiltie. He’ll need to work really hard to match Kiltie’s industry.
  13. I’m pretty sure everyone (even the poster) was already aware of that.
  14. In fairness, only someone who didn’t know that United hadn’t won a UEFA Cup (i.e. no one), would’ve interpreted it the way you did. Because I know they didn’t, I immediately interpreted it as having got to a final, despite the agreed shocking English.
  15. In fairness I don’t think the post specifically said they won it, but I can see how it could easily be interpreted that way. I don’t think the poster actually thought they’d won it. You wouldn’t say a team won a UEFA Cup final. You would just say they won the UEFA Cup.
  16. Doh!! In fairness the point was Celtic winning that particular fixture rather than it necessarily being against Dundee. My failure is still duly noted tho!
  17. In terms of how Celtic and Rangers impact the race between us and Dundee, the ideal scenario for us would be as follows. This weekend -Rangers beat Killie and Celtic draw with Hearts. Next game - Draw between them. Next games - Rangers beat Dundee and Celtic beat Killie. Next games - Rangers lose to Hearts and Celtic beat Dundee to win the league. Final game - champions Celtic turn up smelling like a barman’s tie and still hawf pished. Job done.
  18. But even if they lose at Parkhead the league still won’t be over. Assuming both teams win this weekend that is. I also think people are overplaying how “shite” Rangers are and how “good” Celtic are. Rangers may have been shite on Sunday but they still won. Surely that must say something about them? I don’t think there’s much between them and I also don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that Celtic will win against them.
  19. It’s a fair opinion, but I take a different one. When Rangers play Dundee, the league will not be over and Rangers will be desperate for points. I’d say there’s more chance of us beating a tools down, feet up Celtic, than of Dundee beating a Rangers team that need to win to keep the league alive. When you say Rangers have lost 3 times at home to Celtic’s one, that is of course correct. However, to put that into context a little, one of those defeats was against Celtic and the other was against Aberdeen last September. If the Rangers Dundee game was at Dens I’d be more inclined to agree with you, but not at Ibrox. Think positive ma man!
  20. Why do Dundee get a potential win at Ibrox, but we don’t get a potential win at Parkhead? Apologies if the answer was in the remainder of your post but it was a bit of a TLDR and I’m a bit tired.
  21. Dundee FC Big club Bigger than Dundee Utd Aw ma sides Teams who have won things since the Osmonds and Slade had number ones - St. Mirren and Dundee Utd. Teams who huvnae - Dundee Jeezo, I thought the Sheep were bad for thinking they were still big club due to their past glories. At least there’s some Aberdeen fans still alive that can remember their glory days.
