  1. Short answer = No. Naysmith has already got his injuries excuse submitted pre-game.
  2. I don't have access to the attendance stats but I'd be surprised if there are many smaller crowds in SPFL2 than the 182 that we saw last night. And I reckon 50 of those were from Stenny Looking forward to Saturday 3pm KO's in a new stadium next season.
  3. And a cagey 1-1 it turned out to be. Actually, that's nonsense. Stenny were by far the better team, and they'll be kicking themselves that they didn't head home with all 3 points.
  4. Nice match preview! City were fairly dreadful going forwards against Cowdenbeath on Friday (despite winning) and lost their previous two. I'll predict a cagey 1-1 to keep us in the box seat for 4th.
  5. I chatted to a few of the lads at the front and they were having a good time and were pretty low key for a staggie I thought. They added to the atmosphere, as did the City kindergarten team and their conga. Be interested to hear if Central Park gets any stag visits, from any nationality?
  6. Half the car park is now a Covid test site, but if you get there early enough then you might get a spot.
  7. There is a Morisons Supermarket on Ferry Road just around the corner from the ground. It's OK to park there. Pop it in your SatNav. 5 mins walk tops. And you can nip in and get your messages before the game too!
  8. You can stand or sit more or less where you like. Now that the City young team have been banned then the right hand end of the stand at the Ainslie Park Arena will be free'd up so I think that's where the Cowden fans will head. Oh, and you can sit down first half and stand up second, or vice versa. I do that a bit meself.
  9. I was at the game on Friday and one of the laddies set off a flare when City scored. Also a bit of flicking the v's at the Stirling fans. The young team were escorted out of the ground after about 80 minutes. I wasn't at the game last night, but yes certainly a bit of turnaround to get praised by the club on a Tuesday and then banned by Wednesday!
  10. If we play our under 20's team, like City did in December for the win at Central Park, we've got a chance
  11. Just back from the game, a scrappy 1-0 win for City which I'm very happy with. The game became increasingly tetchy in the second half, and quite surprised that it remained 11 v 11 . 500 there including the usual strong away following. Fair to say that a few of your boys had been on the drink.... Big shout out to the CIty young team, we had drums, singing, a flare, and all 30 of them were roundly marched out of the ground en masse by the stewards after 80 minutes. Expect a note home to your Ma....
  12. Ach - sorry. Should have added that 25/26 is my own sarcastic interpretation of how quickly Edinburgh City Council process planning applications (unless it is to do with student flats or cycle lines - then they are sh*t hot). So maybes a bit before 2025....
  13. Thanks for posting this. Not as large as the mooted 1,500 seater but I like the mix of seats and standing (but closer inspection of the plans reads 5 rows of seating or 10 of standing). Note also the Proposed Fan Zone to the right of the main stand. Look forward to the new stand being ready for the start of the 25/26 season.
  14. That is good to hear (from a City fan) but it sounds like a draw would have been a fairer result. Having rolled over and lost two home games 4-0 this season, we seem to have developed a bit of a backbone since Christmas. Even the Aberdeen defeat where it could have been double figures, we managed to keep it down to 3. Still really puzzling why we can't turn it on at home (other than the fact we are playing at an uninspiring "stadium").
  15. The view from the away end yesterday. Just as well that Edinburgh City had zero attacks down the left wing...
  16. The Dons definitely had a shoot on sight policy. Brian had all of the woodwork shots covered Off topic but anyone agree that the view of the pitch from the away section is fairly crap at Pittodrie. View of the nearside touchline for the entire half is obscured by a high fence and home supporters standing up. Still, quite a tidy stadium despite that.
  17. A good rearguard action yesterday from City to keep the score down to 3 at Pittodrie. 32 shots to 1 was disappointing, but that is the gulf in class between the leagues. I'm sure Chairman Brown is happy with the swelling of the coffers from the 9,000 crowd. Back to league action next week at Forfar, let's hope some of the spirit from the Kelty away game will be there.
  18. City fan here, looking forward to the trip tomorrow. Our player to watch out for is John Robertson (if he plays), likes to cut in from the right and shoot with his left foot. I expect our keeper Brian Schwake (Loanee from Livi) to be busy. Where is a good place to park for free within a 15 minute walk to Pittodrie? Cheers.
  19. Any slowcoaches (like me) who haven't yet got their Aberdeen ticket will be please to hear that a cash turnstile will be open on Saturday.
  20. Yep I get that Patrick. But he played for you in the Premiership last season. Life is different at our level. Massive turnover of players. 8 months ago we were in the play offs and out of the 18 players in the squad that day, only 5 remain with the club and 3 of those are crocked. If Ben Stirling is not even League 2 quality as you say, then we'll soon find out.
  21. Worst player in a Premier League team would still be quite decent in a mid League 2 team. Happy to have him in the squad.
  22. He's just scored ! Mate of mine at the game sent me a picture of the fella. Looks familiar....
  23. https://fanbaseclub.com/ You will need to register for an account, download the app to your phone and you can either buy tickets from your phone or through the website. Bit of a PITA to set up, but it works OK.
