  1. Oh I just realised that City are relegated. And strangely, Liam Fontaine has announced his retirement today, I thought he had left the club at Christmas? It's a pity that City have stopped communicating with the paying members over the last few months. I'm sticking in a few quid a month but wonder why I bother.
  2. He was excellent for us, hope he continues to make an impact with Stirling for the rest of the season.
  3. City are 14/1 to win this one. On the basis that something has to go right for us before the end of the season, I'm going to stick a tenner on that.
  4. I didn't go yesterday as the points deduction has sealed relegation and frankly it was a bit of a miserable afternoon to be sat at a windy Meadowbank. The complete exit of the fans favourites from the squad has been a tough one to take. I thought that Fontaine and Ouzy might stick around for a bit but they haven't and I understand the reasons why. I'd wager that most of the lads in the squad yesterday won't be there for the start of next season, whatever league that is in.
  5. Anyone else suspect that Ouzy has re-resigned for Love Island FC? Not in the squad last week.
  6. Hopefully Partick Thistle's recently announced £355k annual loss doesn't create any similar problems.
  7. There's a programme? Been to the last few home games and not clapped eyes on one for sale. I thought it had been shelved as part of the cut backs.
  8. And coming within seconds of beating the league leaders last weekend. It is indeed mental, and unsustainable.
  9. An update of sorts from the Chairman via the BBC. The club have reached a 'time to pay' agreement with HMRC, but no other news of note. And - is Liam Fontaine still the club captain as the photo suggests ? Who knows. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68058986 Slightly disappointing that there has been no club statement since before Christmas despite more or less the entire squad leaving and being replaced with loans and out of contract players from elsewhere. I'd say a lot of the pay-as-you-go supporters are relying on P&B for club news. I read the above article on the Falkirk thread.
  10. After last Saturday's sucker punch equaliser at the death against Falkirk, I was delighted with the news of the Bonnyrigg winner on 90 minutes today. What goes around, comes around.....
  11. Agreed Tam. Look at all the crap going on in the world and some folk are getting outraged to the point of bursting blood vessels that a part-time team in Scotland ran out of money.
  12. Edinburgh City have a duty to the integrity of League 1 to put out as strong a team as possible, rather than put the kids in and effectively wave the white flag for the remaining 16 games of the season. Signing a quota of loan players and out of contract players isn't against the rules or the spirit of the competition.
  13. One of those ones where if if its given against your team then you're gutted. But if you VAR it and watch the reply a few times then yeah a hand is placed on the forwards back which means its legit for the attacker to go down. No need for our boy to make the challenge, but hey that's football for you. Utter confusion from the referee, waves his arm in the air but even the commentary team don't know what he'e given.
  14. Nice to read some balanced comments from Falkirk fans on here. Until this one....
  15. It was right in front of me - defender should have stayed on his feet, but yeah that was extremely soft. Overall, a thoroughly solid display from City today. I have no idea who the new lads are or how they are being paid, but they were magnificent.
  16. Hamilton thought the same when they were 5-0 up after 35 minutes the other week. City managed to scrape a couple of goals back to keep it respectable ! A big miss for us will be Robbie Mahon who has moved to Dundalk on a permanent deal after being recalled from his loan spell at Motherwell.
  17. Looking at Fanbase, the away allocation of seated tickets is sold out. For your friend, I'd suggest that he messages the club through the usual social channels or hello@edinburghcityfc.com with regard to access. And also if he needs a seat, I am sure that City would do their best to help. The away turnstiles are at the West end of Meadowbank, there will also be a way to access through the main Leisure Centre bit of Meadowbank as well.
  18. The second half was much improved, have some faith. The lads that came on as subs were a marked improvement.
  19. Surprised to See that no Citizens have commented on the return on our long lost number 9 today, last seen on Love Island....
  20. One of the best moments of my life ! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=423798042453780
  21. Such a shame for the Women's team in particular. The loss of the under 20's will presumably cut off any supply of potential first team players for next season? On the basis that most of the current under 20's are now the 23/24 first team squad. Glad to see that the ticket prices have increased to £15. That is very sensible. From memory last season was £18, but the cut to £11 was perhaps a little bit optimistic of the new board as the gates have not increased. Would love it if there was some merch to buy at the games to help the club out. Normal football fan stuff. A scarf? Bobble hat?
