  1. Well I never. Second in the table after 6 games. Looks like nobody on this thread saw that coming. Still a long way to go but I think we might just avoid relegation....
  2. City have won all 3 away games this season with an aggregate score of 12-1. Food for thought eh? I expect there was a couple of car loads of away fans but well done to them for making the trip.
  3. Yes, he did a superb job at centre back at the latter end of the promotion season. A shame to see him leave City, Too good for the Lowland League!
  4. City have won their first two away games and beat Clyde at home last week as well as Stranraer in the cup, so are in good form. We've still not drawn a league game yet this season so I'll plump for a 1-1 draw.
  5. Ah thanks for clarifying that! Sorry, I was not coming over all Statto on the attendances. Good luck tomorrow, hope its a decent game and apologies to all Clyde fans in advance for your fan "experience" at the Stadio Del Meadowbank.
  6. 248 is higher than we had at some league games last year at Ainslie Park. But disappointing when it was only a fiver to get in. Saturday will be the first league game this season with PATG available. The credit card machines have finally arrived! Not disputing that but your home games have been around the 500 / 600 ,mark this season. Is that because some fans are reluctant to travel to Hamilton?
  7. Alan Maybury's cunning plan to lose all of FC Franchise's home games and win all of the away ones is working perfectly. I'll go for an edgy 1-0 for the away team.
  8. Yes, I would agree with that. It is a brilliant proggy and has been for many years.
  9. I have found the clubs mouthpiece - it is the matchday programme. It has a women's section in it with details of all of the fixtures and a handy map telling you how far it is to each away game. There was also a bleating article with a grumbling apology to the Falkirk fans about the facilities even before the game had started. The club had asked Edinburgh Leisure if they could put up some temporary stands in the "D" between the running track and the goals (and even printed a photo of other grounds that had that facility to show how it could work) - this was knocked back. The atmosphere was dire yesterday, complete silence at half time, no music, no half time scores from the other games, nada. Except for wee Aaron announcing the return of " FC Edinbugh! " to the pitch using his roving microphone......
  10. First time at Meadowbank today and it was an abject performance from City. Well played Falkirk, streets ahead of us. I wonder how long it will be before the manager acknowledges that it's easier to get his team fired up to play away from home.
  11. Kelty and Alloa fans said similar things before matches 1 and 3, and City won both games comfortably. However, I think it's so depressing for the team to play at Meadowbank every other week, we will certainly lose more than we win at home. Aye, it is quite a big change from playing at Ibrox, Easter Road and Pittodrie in recent years to the abomination that is New Meadowbank.
  12. Delighted with another away win for City, but not getting carried away. A second red card in consecutive games is a bit of a worry, although today's one didn't impact the result.
  13. I wonder if there is a hairdryer in there for Danny Handling?
  14. I think City will actually be better away from home this season. Playing inside an athletics track with the spectators 4 double deckers bus lengths away must be a bit demotivating.
  15. Yeah that made be chuckle when I heard him say 'atrocious decision'! Umm....denying a goalscoring opportunity.....in the box....that is a red card and a penalty all day long.
  16. Ally, thank you for publishing your letter here. Without question, it is hands down the best and most heartfelt and accurate summary of how the vast majority of City fans are feeling at the moment. You have shown tremendous loyalty and financial commitment to shell out for a season ticket which could equate to just 45 minutes use. We are indeed a laughing stock. Also Kudos to the many Dunfermline fans who have given a decent summary of their experience yesterday.
  17. Wow. 25 shots to 1. 16 on target. 16 corners to the Pars. And it was only 3-0. Wasn't at the game but I think City got away with it there....
  18. Yes. For around 20 years there was a new years cross country race series at Holyrood Park that used to attract Mo Farah, Laura Muir etc. Council withdrew the £100k funding for that a few years ago so it folded. As witnessed by the sh*tshow that is Meadowbank, lack of any decent indoor concert facilities for more than 2,000 people, it is clear that the Council / Edinburgh Leisure are not interested / incapable of supporting any kind of spectator events in the City. Glasgow is decades ahead by comparison due to the Commonwealth Games legacy. Good luck to all the Pars fans attending tomorrow. An unlikely City win could rub salt into what is looking like a lousy day out compared to your usual matchday.
  19. Yes, there will be standing available. The new stand is pish, try and get a back row seat. Maximum capacity is 1,280. I can safely say that there will be more away fans than home, so enjoy your day out. Nice to have a top of the table clash this early in the season, eh?
  20. Good question. I'll be charitable. On one hand, the Board have supported the manager, appointed a commercial manager and made some pretty decent permanent and loan signings. On the other, they have chosen to alienate the bulk of the (very small by SPFL standards) fanbase, and pursue the corporate pound that I just don't think exists for a place like Meadowbank.
  21. Well you can't fault the club for going all in to target the corporate market. But will there be any takers at all? £96 including VAT for a day out at Meadowbank....hmmmm.
  22. I am mulling over whether to just go to a few away games this season. Going to Meadowbank might just feel like seeing your ex-girlfriend with a new fella, after she has dumped you via the Evening News classifieds...
  23. As a Partick fan I am guessing you don't live here. Edinburgh Trams - delivered 3 years late and £375m over budget Enquiry into Trams debacle - has so far taken 8 years and cost £12.5m Sticking up cycle lanes all over town during Covid lockdown with no public consultation Meadowbank Roadwork upon Roadwork upon Roadwork I could go on but I think my post doesn't belong on P&B....
  24. Well I'd stake my last 50 pence that the architect would have at least asked "3 rows of seats? You not wanting any more than that pal?" of the clowncil / Edinburgh Leisure
