  1. This. Was weary/worried when the club first announced the Ultras. However without them and the constant singing has lifted the club, possibly getting us over the line in many games. However as earlier posted a large group drinking for around five hours prior to attending the game can bring its troubles. Already heard more than a whisper there’s others attaching themselves to the Ultras hell bent on trouble.
  2. A well known Falkirk supporters pub was full of Ultras from early afternoon. Enough said……
  3. Lang has been outstanding since arriving. But would like to see him launching a few balls now and again, especially when it’s obvious we’re being high/tight pressed. Tbh apart from a couple of scary situations, thought he and Donaldson strolled the game. Uncharacteristically apart from Nesbitt (who was our best player) we simply had too many turning in performances well short of expectations. Credit to opposition they simply doubled up so quickly to cancel out Miller & Morrison when in possession.
  4. Pretty much sums up last night’s disappointing display. Far too many basic errors and a few players below usual level of performance, against a well organised side.
  5. Cracking day for football, pity we’ve got a shitey late kick off.
  6. Wouldn’t have any worries facing the V. RR were very poor and so disappointing after a considerable and good season, and tbh if we can play to our form, wouldn’t haven’t any doubt facing them. Love to give McCabe a beating
  7. From the fleeting viewing, Airdrie has bossed this up till now
  8. On a slightly different note, just received from FSS newsletter. Very disappointing that some of the fans who started contributing have fell away. February 2024 Newsletter Status Update The FSS membership is currently at over 870, and you all provide over £130,000 a year. This is a fantastic position to be in and we are thrilled that the membership continues to trend in a positive direction. However, there is a tinge of disappointment when we think about how much further we could be. We have seen members’ 2-year PayPal subscription end, then not continue through our other payment platforms, and subsequently drop out of the membership. These members represented some of the earliest to buy in to the fan ownership journey and the FSS Committee remains convinced that these drop offs have been in error. Talk to your friends about the FSS and make sure they have switched! Shares Update – 25%! It is the moment we’ve all been working towards, FSS now own over 25% in Falkirk Football Club! Over the last few months, the Committee has been actively encouraging share donation to the FSS with the aim of reaching the initial target of over 25% shares and the safeguard associated with this milestone. Owning over 25% provides both a practical and symbolic step in the Club’s fan-ownership journey, as this offers the opportunity to block any special resolutions that do not match the values of the fanbase. A huge thank you again to all shareholders who donated and to all members who have got the FSS to this point. Of course, we don’t have to stop here. The FSS Committee believes that we are the home for all small shareholders – it is currently estimated that there remain around 700 small shareholders who are not members of FSS. We can unite us all. Any Bairns who wish to discuss donation of all, or part, of their shares please contact: admin@falkirksupporters.org for more information; or gordon.wright@falkirkfc.co.uk to request your share transfer. Our Progress on Your Ideas The regular feature where we can provide you with a monthly update on the FSS Committee’s progress on your ideas. Securing our shareholding At (and since) our members meeting on September 1st, it had been understood that a mechanism which allowed the FSS to continue to contribute all funds to the club, whilst retaining the ability to secure our shareholding in the event of a future share issue, should be explored. The Committee has, while seeking advice from FSS members with financial and legal expertise, over the last few months been working up a number of options which would secure our 25% shareholding in the event of a share issue sometime in the future. Our work over the last few months has revealed that what perhaps seems a simple issue, in fact has many available solutions and the FSS Committee must ensure that these are all thoroughly explored. This is a significant piece of work, and is taking time to complete, but we look forward to having a well worked proposal to gain the approval of members and present to the Club Board. Junior Membership Members made it clear that there was an appetite to explore a FSS junior membership – and the Committee agreed! Over the last couple months, we have held conversations with Sarah Scott’s (+ team) Junior Bairns and The Jags Foundation (thanks to both) to better understand how we can go about establishing a junior membership and secure FSS members for the future. We have an idea for a junior membership and plan to present it at the FSS AGM (read more below) for discussion, and, if the membership is so minded, we aim to have a junior membership in place by the end of the season. More to come! If the kids are not signed up to the Junior Bairns then get down to the club shop and hand over your £7! You can email sarah.scott13@virginmedia.com for further information on the Junior Bairns. The PayPal Problem and Total Tickets (and Standing Order) Solution! After discussions with members, it was determined that the FSS should move away from PayPal. We have now successfully been using the new platform Total Tickets as a replacement and members are encouraged to switch to Total Tickets by filling in their details here and cancelling their PayPal subscriptions. There remains the option to set up a Standing Order payment instead. As mentioned at the start of this newsletter, we have now seen some members be removed from our membership list due to not switching from PayPal. It is really disappointing, as these were individuals who signed up in the first couple months of the subscriptions-based model and were vital in getting this off the ground. We believe that many, possibly even all, of these members are not dropping off through choice, but that the message has not yet got through to them that their subscriptions have ended. We don’t want this to happen unwillingly to any other members, so please, if you know anyone who may be in this situation then encourage them to continue their membership through a Standing Order or the Total Tickets platform. Although many of you will still have time remaining on your 2-year PayPal subscription, we would like to encourage all members to cancel their PayPal subscriptions and either: Set up a minimum £10 monthly Standing Order to the details below. Falkirk Supporters Society Ltd Bank of Scotland Account number - 21724460 Sort code - 80-22-60 Or sign up via Total Tickets here. It would be greatly appreciated, if switching to a Standing Order, you could also email us at subscriptions@falkirksupporters.org with your Full Name, Email Address, First Payment Date and Donation Amount as this would greatly assist with our tracking. Your data will not be shared and our Privacy and GDPR policy can be viewed at https://falkirksupporters.org/fss-policy-documents/. Blockbustarz What an incredible night we had last Friday at the FSS fundraising night! Bairns joined together at Camelon Social Club for a night with 70s Glam Rock band Blockbustarz and (after the full dance floor emptied following a final rendition of Amarillo!) the money raised totaled £1557.25. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and donated raffle prizes! Nights like these are so important, not just because of the important fundraising efforts that are central to the FSS aims, but because they go a huge way to strengthening the bond between Bairns. We hope to have more of these nights to build a strong FSS community and any ideas you have would be welcomed. AGM The 2024 AGM of the Falkirk Supporters Society is provisionally due to take place at 7pm on Friday 22 March in Behind The Wall. Papers will be issued to members nearer the time. There will be an election as positions on the Committee will be required to be filled. "One of Our Own” This month we would like to shine a spotlight on our friends at Fanatikool Furnishings. Fanatikool are an upholstery company based in Falkirk who offer an array of products from sofas, chairs and stools right through to their leather frames (that members will have seen in our popular FSS POTM award) At our fundraising night the Club donated a signed top from this season and it has framed by our friends at Fanatikool. Look out for an auction to continue our fundraising efforts shortly. If any members do run their own business, and wish to offer something to the wider membership, then please get in touch with us at admin@falkirksupporters.org. Our Business Partners…so far. 9. Great numbers considering TV and playing at a ridiculous time on a Saturday.
  10. Good transfer window, and no players leaving. Undoubtedly there’s been interest in Morrison, but couldn’t give a toss, when he’s on form he's a player most other defences don’t like playing against. The width and pace across the team is great, and if we keep the form like last Saturday we won’t be far away.
  11. If Morrison has a clause that allows his release/transfer, it would have surely been called by now. However you never know in football. We've had some twists and turns and tbh nothing would surprise me. Just hope that if there’s no clause we don’t sell at any cost.
  12. As said unless there’s a really stupid financial deal/offer for Morrison, which I can’t see anyone offering with little over 5 months to go, just hoping that signing Tait has absolutely nothing to do with Morrisons situation.
  13. It’s going to be a difficult Saturday, but we’ve had our fair share of great nights under the floodlights. Difference last Saturday was night and day, compared to the pish endured last two. Rallying cry to the Ultras, could be so important for Saturdays game.
  14. Covered in many posts but a truly deserving three points. Although I agree with the comments of many of the Millers Morrisons and Lang’s, probably worth mentioning the guys like McCann and Yeats. Maybe not mentioned as often when you have so many up in the headlights. Watched Yeats at yards away today and his gameplay was brilliant. Same with McCann, peach of a pass first half to make another Miller run. Hamilton game is massive, win it and we won’t be far away. Lastly I’ve given Long big, thought his first half performance was so much improved and hope he returns my sun cream after the second 45
  15. FFS can we take the posts about pixels and all the associated shite to another post somewhere.
  16. Changed player since Lang signed. Best CB pairing we’ve had for so bloody long. Well done to the club for sealing the deal. Trick now is to get Tom signed to an extended contract.
  17. Great signing for RR. Could be the difference in getting the auto promotion slot.
  18. The majority of the town’s supporters want this.
  19. Alloa game shaping up to be biggest games in five years. Two hugely disappointing games, facing a local rival that’s hit a decent run of form. Need to get back to winning ways. Just hope he knows that he’s not got the tactics right in previous two games and a bit of a wake up call. All cup finals now, just hope the players have the mentality and balls to get our form back. Didnt read to much into McGlynns interview, but got a dig they he’s playing down if he’s bringing in maybe one more player.
