  1. Just received the FSS newsreel - snap shot of the latest news: What a way to end 2023! Our fan-owned Club sits top of the league, with a 5-point cushion and a game in hand…but the hard work cannot stop. Here’s to a prosperous 2024 for all Bairns, both on and off the park, as we continue on our fan ownership journey. This month’s newsletter will be slightly different to usual (partly because the author overindulged over the festive period when he should have been writing it!) and will instead ‘throwback’ to some of the achievements of the FSS from the previous year. 2023 By Numbers 257 new members – A fantastic year of membership growth which has propelled us to a membership of 850+ contributing over £120,000 a year. This is a really strong position to be in and it shows that there is an appetite within the Falkirk support for fan-ownership, and it can still grow further. How quickly can we reach the 1000 mark? £444,363.35 contributed to the Club – What a difference the FSS has made financially in 2023! The funds that have been raised by your contributions, and the Fans Bank initiative, have made a real difference in our Club. Without the FSS, we would not only have missed out on building the team which has performed so strongly this season, but would likely have fallen back to a part-time/hybrid model. Let’s keep up
  2. A good family friend was down at the stadium, the kids had a ball, and the players were absolutely top class. These kids are the future for the club, and we sometimes forget the time and effort, so many parents, volunteers and coaches give to the club. https://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/2024/01/04/junior-bairns-coaching-day-3/
  3. That’s a blow regardless of who Accies are bringing in.
  4. On a slightly different matter, if there’s anything in the Morrison/Salford, getting 3-0 rogering.
  5. With a couple or so hours till the new year, for all the Falkirk supporters around the world, hope you have a brilliant new year. Special thanks to John and Paul, you’ve set the bar in equalling the best ever run of games without defeat, and testament to the guys who have signed for the NB. Thank You.
  6. The first forty five was as good as I’ve seen at TFS. The structure to our passing/movement was simply brilliant and as posted Miller is simply the best we’ve seen in the NB since guys like Latapy graced the park, a class act. Thankfully we found magic shovels that cleared the snow and didn’t damage the surface.
  7. Snow was forecast, and the club should have been prepared with a contingency plan.
  8. WTF - why has it taken till now for volunteers???
  9. Six of us just arrived by train at Grahamston, doesn’t look clever
  10. As said we've probably got the strongest first 11, since we’ve dropped down to the third tier. I’m sure McGlynn would like to strengthen - for me it’s a GK & CF. However bringing in better at this window is not always possible. With quite a few players out contract come May, let’s hope with this oncoming transfer window, we don’t have many signing elsewhere.
  11. Don’t think we’ll get the 5K, but wouldn’t be surprised to see a very healthy 4.6/4.7K
  12. I would be surprised if they sell anything near their allocation. No doubt many of our fans will be in the home end.
  13. Our current situation doesn’t lend well on many fronts from a financial perspective. Like many I would have loved to hear some positive information from the BOD on investment from new/current/external investors, but approaching half time in league fixtures, and five points clear the silence is deafening. Maybe there’s an announcement coming soon, however fearing there’s a big fat zero. Let’s face it, we’re probably witnessing the best, strongest and most exciting first 11 in years, hoping this continues….
  14. Let’s be honest, whilst there encouraging increasing numbers of FSS members, we are no where near the “gap bridging” Over to you BOD
  15. No doubt there’s considerable manoeuvring behind the scenes, busy time of the year for managers and agents. As we’ve went very public with us being skint, and the continued appeals for investment, I’m sure it will not only be Morrison under the radar for many.
  16. Merry Christmas to all that are associated to our beloved. For sure, it’s been four and a half years of poor decisions makings, appointments and so called players not fit to wear the NB. This season it feels different, and without getting above our station, we look a proper football team, with players that care. If we can continue our commitment, attitude and desire we won’t be far away. Lastly our thoughts for many supporters that are no longer here.
  17. And if I remember, his wages (although probably exaggerated) were more in line with what the lower end arse cheek players were earning. If all this speculation is true, good luck to Morrison as he’s probably sealed a pension most working guys take to accumulate in a lifetime.
  18. Used a perfect example - Gows form dropped like a brick once he signed for Sevco. PCSs will have many caveats. If a player who’s earning 750 a week, and signs a PCA for 3/4K a week, it’s not rocket science that the player will not risk any type of injury that would jeopardise his chance of making large bucks.
  19. Theres absolutely no doubt that Morrison has been enjoying his best run of form this term and a bit more consistency. Over the past couple of seasons few would argue that he had a good one in six/seven games and a worldly goal in the same ratio. For me the introduction of Lang Spencer Miller has allowed Morrison to flourish. Even yesterday I didn’t think he was at high standards, but made Lang’s goal and could easily had a couple for himself. If he’s offski the deal must be in the best interests for both parties as an unhappy player or a player that’s signed somewhere else is not what we need.
  20. If there’s any truth in what’s been around for a few weeks now, it would take serious cash offer to get him. Given our current situation, Unless there’s a serious wad offered, the BOD would be mad to accept.
  21. Thought today was a potential banana skin, with the tight park and weather, however we marshalled the game impeccably. Repeating contenders for goal of the season, and thought Miller Lang Donaldson were immense. Hogarth with basically nothing to do over the 96 mins, looked more commanding when called into action. Players look like they know everyone’s next movement which I’ve not witnessed for many a year. If we can hold onto these players for remaining 18 games, it’s going to take an almighty challenge to dislodge us from the top spot. Just hope that some of the undertones today about Morrison being offski is just bollocks.
  22. Heard weeks ago that there was a few clubs that could be in trouble. See Ross County’s manager already greeting about the no of SPL teams, and it should be larger divisions. If I was a livvie fan I’d be worried, if they miraculously escape the auto drop spot, there’s already more than talk that plastic pitches will not be allowed next season.
  23. Just picking up on the Edinburgh City situation, unless there’s something I’m missing, as best it looks like the end for them. If they do fold, I’m assuming that any points amassed will simply be void ?
