  1. Yeah, 1730 is the danger zone. Too much time before the game to have too much, but also enough time afterwards to go too far. The Wet Jeans Zone.
  2. I don’t agree that there’s a major rebuild in the pipeline. Looks like we’ll have a full complement of outfield players plus a couple. JMcG will have time to consider where he needs more quality or depth and he’ll have an element of certainty over the budget (though that’s down to us too). I’d hope the majority of this squad get the chance to prove themselves in the Championship. Airdrie and DA squads have competed without many changes.
  3. Holy fk, 35 years. Think of everything that’s happened since then.
  4. So that’s Plan B. That’s what I’m getting at. All the “plan B” talk suggests that some think McGlynn is a one-trick pony. I think it’s more complex than that. Proof of the pudding will be how we fare in the Championship against stronger sides, but I do hope expectations will be measured.
  5. Thing is, Plan A is working nearly every week. Okay, we don’t pump every side by 5 goals each week but no side does. John McGlynn did a talk for FSS members last year when he was surprisingly frank about how he approaches games, which was an eye opener. It’s clear that there’s so much more too it, the approach is more like a framework than a straightforward this formation, or that formation. They switch formations and tactics throughout the match, and it’s much more fluid than the Champ Manager version. It basically showed me how little I know about the game.
  6. What would that Plan B look like and how would it be better than our record so far? Plan B last night was to bring Miller on, and it worked.
  7. I like the rotation. Football is a squad game. Not giving more of the squad a run risks them being rustier or disengaged when injuries or suspensions happen. Case in point - Tam got injured, we could move Hendo knowing Tait could step in, and didn’t he do well. Similarly if Cal needs a rest after a couple of kickings this week, Ross is more likely to be match-fit. And Mackie has done well - can’t argue with two assists. As for the keepers, much of a muchness and tbh I think the concerns, while not unjustified, are a bit exaggerated. All about opinions etc, though I do trust McGlynn’s more than most.
  8. Grangemouth is the capital of Falkirk and would defeat Falkirk in a war, given it’s navy, air force, means of production, Kelpies and stadiums. And people, obvs. YGB.
  9. I’d hate to see Ola getting into bother for that, he wouldn’t expect it to be filmed. But if anyone does clip it, some upbeat and cheery music given his excellent dancing would work well. And then we make it go viral and pay the song when Hartley comes to TFS next.
  10. Deserved that. Similar to Annan inasmuch as we made chances that we didn’t take, but really impressed with Tait, what a classy player. Hendo didn’t look out of place at CH and Mackie was fine. When Long was called upon, he did well. I was about to say we ground that out, but we didn’t because we were far away the stronger side. Lovely win.
  11. That’s my reading too and at the risk of pissing people off, I don’t think it’s a big deal. At best a marginal issue especially given our excellent defensive record. What I do agree with is that of the very few goals we’ve conceded this season, a fair proportion of them have been defensive or keeper errors. So while I don’t think it deserves the column inches it generates this season, it could be a bigger issue against better teams next.
  12. Okay, we could alternatively blame Lang for a terrible clearance just before that gave them possession unnecessarily. Or MacIver for missing god knows how many chances. Or Miller for putting in several poor balls. Or we can accept that we succeed or fail as a team, not individuals. Bottom line is we don’t know - it was an off day and the players that didn’t play could’ve easily been worse.
  13. No it didn’t, missing a dozen chances cost us.
  14. Many a true word is spoken in jest though. While the Morrison stuff is nonsense, Hamilton have certainly brought Akheem Rose to our attention. edited to add: and good to hear that Scott Martin is back in training.
  15. No don’t! We were just about to start fighting amongst ourselves before he distracted us.
  16. It was disappointing but I’m sure most adults can cut us a bit of slack. As for anyone who booed, dcb.
  17. A 4th stand isn’t simply sunk cost or whether or not we use the seats. As others have pointed out, it’d offer more revenue raising opportunities for the club and possibly reduce overall costs of what use on site. Again, a more strategic and joined-up effort from all stakeholders - including foundation and FC - would be best.
  18. Fantasy stuff, but I always liked the idea of an Airdrie-style pavilion where we could house a lot of the club facilities, dressing rooms (incl for the other putch), some hospitality, bars etc. Would bring a bit of character to the overall development too.
  19. Yeah fair point in the short-term (though not clear how it benefits the club - I’m sure we’ll hear more) though it all has to be considered in the round. It’s a big commitment for everyone involved, including the local taxpayer.
  20. That looks like where the car park or access to the car park will be for a future east stand.
  21. I’ll jinx nearly everything now but we’re the only unbeaten side in the SPFL and top scorers across all four divisions. Only the faded-blue arsecheek has conceded fewer, and only just. Get the Roy Castle gifs ready.
  22. This has a bit of a crisis feel about it. Is the Foundation effectively collapsing?
  23. Reading all that again, I think the Foundation has some explaining to do. It has effectively brought the club’s name into disrepute, carrying as it does our trademark and identity. While as BB points out, there was some bad luck with the coach leaving with a number of players, they seem not to have managed the situation at all well. We really can’t have that when the club is trying to rebuild.
