  1. Disagree with this. FSS money goes into the club either way, as a direct donation as now or as a share purchase when that’s available. Diverting funds would then reduce overall income to the club. Double whammy as I expect the club also pays some kind of tax on sponsorship income. I wouldn’t be so precious about this. If anything, 150 will be an opportunity to bring in more income.
  2. Only if you’re parked on double yellows. Otherwise fill yer boots/palms.
  3. Spat beer on my wife when I read this and she made me show her the post. She’s a traffic warden so your anonymity won’t hold.
  4. Oakley going to Plastic Whistle according to my little birds. Would love Tait back, he’s a Rolls Royce. Think we need more numbers in the spine too, c.f. How difficult things got for us at the end of the season but especially Dunfermline when their defenders/muscle got injured.
  5. Alloa are no mugs. Their reserves should have beat the Champions/Invincibles yesterday
  6. Not a penny of debt matey! All bills paid in full always, unlike all the other serial cheats and name changers across the country.
  7. It will remain until it becomes untrue. Looking forward to bringing the NBP to Airdrie. Or as they call it in government, development assistance.
  8. I’m like Thumper the Rabbit this morning. If Thumper had 13 pints and a kebab swilling around his belly.
  9. Even Airdrie fans are crowdwanking over The Invincibles! Can’t wait to be back.
  10. It’s okay big fella. The Invincibles will boost that figure next season.
  11. Alloa made us absolutely shite ourselves yesterday. Any Falkirk fan saying losing didn’t matter because we’d won the league anyway were about as convincing as a Tory on TV this morning talking about “the plan”. If Sammon had killed the invincible dream it would have been ulcerous. We must be honest about that. Alloa is the most improved team in the division. Genuinely hope they go up, for various reasons, but primarily because I like the pubs and the view of the Ochils. If not them, then Montrose, for similar reasons (principally the pubs). Had some great awaydays in this division and some class acts as hosts.
  12. Nice club Annan. Guard of honour AND wearing our heritage strip.
  13. On the upside, that’s Leon got his goal now.
  14. Can’t believe this season is going to be over soon. I really don’t want it to.
  15. What a lovely dilemma to have! Fair question to ask though Yes, I think it is the right way to go. First of all, it was a promise made and a bit of a social contract with fans to back the club through thick and thin (it felt thin at the time, mind) which we did. Second, folk still aren’t rolling in it so this gives an affordable minimum buy-in for those who are finding finances tough, so it’s inclusive. And third, there are now several options for folk to contribute more if they want, and some of these more tax/VAT efficient. So I think we’ve got it spot-on.
  16. This is just part of the transition into fan ownership. If you buy into the idea, are willing and (most importantly) able to pay more, then there’s a range of options. If it rankles to be asked to contribute more, then the immediate following thought has to be “I won’t” which everyone has the freedom to do without any come back. I’ve heard it argued that some feel under appreciated if they don’t contribute beyond tickets, strips etc but I don’t buy that as paying more is discretionary and anonymous. There’s of course a legitimate debate around how the funds are raised, but a) we elect our own directors to come up with these ideas and b) the doors are always open to volunteers to help devise and deliver new ideas. Bottom line is that it’s our club now so up to us how we fund it.
  17. Give it to them all. Sophie’s Choice
  18. He’s a cracking player. 100% every week and covers more ground than a hungry cheetah. I know we have a dozen POTY contenders but he deserves to be quoted.
  19. Exactly the reason we want them to go down and Alloa or Montrose up
  20. Because we made an utter c’nt of it for years. Back now though.
