Great to see big Holt back and almost scoring with his first touch .Some great individual performances ,however, more pleasing was team cohesion ,spirit and dare I say a bit of gallus swagger which only comes from a growing confidence in one’s abilities. Inverness are rank awful and a big surprise how far they have regressed ,worrying times in Teuchterville .

Play like we did against Ayr last Saturday then we’re in with a shout .Best performance since our Post Aberdeen Cup exit slump .Hopefully Doc and Tiff back as added bonus .

Looks like he’s sporting a croissant cocked at a rakish angle .

Real blood and snotters cup tie feeling about the game today with both teams having something to prove .Impressed with some of our passing play and resilience in crafting a win.Milne is a different class ( we’ll be lucky to hang on to him)and thought Fitzpatrick ,Lawless and Turner not far behind . With Tiff,Holt and Doc hopefully back playing soon who knows what’s in store for us . Also a big round of applause for the ground staff(and USH) in getting this game played ,couldn’t handle a snarl up of mid week replays again .

Not sure how this will go today .Our recent results suggest we’ve turned the corner,however,performances say otherwise.Two week break has certainly helped get some battered bodies back on bench ,off field news a big psychological boost and a definite feel good factor, long missing at Firhill, now beginning to grow . A clean sheet and a gallus brace from BBBG would be magic……is that asking too much Santa ?.Anyhoos should be infinitely better compared to last flat ,wake like atmosphere against Kelty .

It was gritted this afternoon and guessing will be again tomorrow before game if needed .Covers now off and pitch looking good .

Whoever the new Chairman is can we should expect ,as a minimum ,transparency and regular updates on matters the fans want to hear .The last few years have been woeful on both fronts .

We seem to have rediscovered the art of winning games ugly going by our last two efforts .Not pretty on the eye but gets the points /results.In saying that our almost non existant midfield is a big worry again now Doc is out . 2-2.

Scoreline flattered us and thought Arbroath played the better football .Anyhoos nice to get back to basics ,winning ugly,keeping cleansheets((Harry Milne’s sublime goal line clearance a standout ),clearing our lines and showing a lot more spirit .Too early to say we’re back on track but a good day at the office….Cheerie bye now.

Thistle need to rediscover the are of winning ugly and grinding out results again ….do it for the fans today who have stood by you thick and thin if for nothing else . 1-1 .

Forecast says dry with little to no wind at kickoff .

No arguments with result, beat fair and square and have now gone from Title contenders to league whipping boys in the space of a month .I still believe there is a good team in there,however, most of it is languishing in the physio suite with no sign of coming back match fit anytime time soon .

5m difference is significant when using wingbacks /wingers as we do v a team of hoofers like Imrie’s ….take that as a positive on your narrow pitch .

Any narrower and you could pass if off as a squash court …pun intended.. Re our pitch ,it was in perfect order when we scudded you last last time around without getting out of first gear .

Play like we did in first half against Dundee we should be fine especially with Graham and/or Tiff back .Play like we did in second half we may as well turn not up .In saying that Morton’s horrible ,wee narrow pitch is a leveller . 1-1 .

Fair play to Dundee who took full advantage of our tactical ineptitude ,lack of fight and general Dugmeat attitude in second half .At this rate any team in Championship should and will be taking the points when playing us . Sure we have important players out injured,however, when two up and looking comfortable in first half to going 2-1 and *hitting the bed and losing in second is unforgivable against a bang ordinary Dundee . Thought the Dundee contingent in Hospitality were well behaved but have to say are there any slim people in Dundee ?…just asking like .

Would settle for the Estuary glue sniffers to draw at Ayr and Arbroath/Accies to spank the Northern Deer worriers and Raith respectively as I have no idea how this game will go today given our woeful injury list /alarming lack of fight.Can only hope Grahams back in squad at his bad assed best if nothing else but to give his own team pelters when needed .

It’s a fair point,Thistle really missing a bawbee or two here .Accies had a cash gate at recent Thistle game so not sure why other clubs can’t do the same.

Holt aside what’s the skinny on Doc,Tiff and BBBG getting back fighting fit ?

Ok ,a string of key injuries,back ups that are hopelessly out of their depth and a team spirit and fight that seems flaccid at best .Only four points off the boil, however,can we afford to wait until Holt,Tiff,Graham,Doc et al are back and team turning the corner ? Methinks not ….big change needed now before we become lower table Dogmeat .
