Some incredible head's gone performances in here, fair play.

There's clearly no silver bullet to fix the run Rovers are on at this moment in time, but for us to play the team that's sitting 5th in the Championship and have one shot at goal, and blame the defence for us losing is quite interesting.

The fact of the matter is, Calum Smith was so anonymous I forgot he was playing, Kyle Turner was terrible and was so was Dylan Easton.

What needs to happen, is that Ian Murray needs to pick a 4-2-3-1 formation, and select the players that most suit that formation, rather than what he seems to be doing now, and picking his favoured eleven and selecting a formation from there.

I agree to some extent the goal was totally avoidable but that’s on the defence and Midfield/brown not clearing their lines and no one looking and simply not picking up Todorov.

I agree the attack has let us down tonight but it’s been like that 3 times against Airdrie this season, Matthews not even getting on the pitch was criminal as you said and I agree that Turner and Easton were absolutely horrendous and he should’ve been on for one of them at least..

Murray needs to find something that works even if goes brexit 442 and shithouses a win anything would do

Pretty much, Turner offers nothing in that ineffectual midfield. Good player Wrong “team”

Jack Hamilton right player wrong time he’s feeding off of scraps at the moment and I feel sorry for the guy he was 1 of 2 to get pass marks from me same with big Kev who kept the score respectable

Murray and Watson so so slow , Yet again Liam Dick contributes nothing so out his depth , Sorry happy clappers you see why Easton has played for the teams he’s had and not at a higher level too inconsistent and definitely a confidence player who’s either unplayable or contributes nothing and frankly since the game at Tannadice he’s done nothing,  Feel sorry for Dylan corr at least he has pace . We would have been better playing a 5 4 1 at least we would have been hard to break down and we probably would have still created more chances .

Murray has this Hardon for playing 4132 so he can have as much attackers on the park, but at this moment in time it’s No working get us more defensively sound first, bring in better full backs and play corr what has the boy genuinely done wrong?

Turner looks a pointless signing however. Been very poor so far and with Stanton returning soon and being a better player, I don’t see where he fits in with the midfield options we already have. Seems like a waste of probably quite a sizeable wage which would have been better allocated to centre back/full back.

We need 2 full backs before Dundee United both are rotten and both are very upgradable and I’d get Corr in next to Watson, Murray has been pish for weeks is he still injured? Playing through injury? Or is he done? These are questions that needs to be asked before

So anybody now starting to agree Murrays 3 year deal was a really bad call? He can't manage to save himself. Clueless, and a one trick pony. I've never changed my tune on the guy.

That was absolutely brutal tonight, all over the park. Could have played all night and not scored.

Euan Murray needs booted, worst centre half I've seen for a long time. What does he actually do? Can't win aerial challenges, can't push a man off the ball, can't tackle and simply can't read the game. His fault for the goal and other mistakes he made, we were really lucky not to get punished for. If Corr can't get in front of that then why the hell did Murray sign him. Every time Airdrie went forward, they looked like they'd score.

Absolutely pathetic. We will get murdered by United in 2 weeks.

    Back to basics 5-4-1.

As the guy said in the smoking area last week McGlynn 2.0

Another poor poor performance. The season is in danger of drifting away from us. Never tested the keeper, never created anything, look a shadow of the team from before Christmas. Huge game coming up against Utd with the pack also chasing us.

Dundee United will absolutely pump us with the way we defend and are playing they’ve got the players to hurt us

  7. That was absolutely PISH, Get Liam dick away to f**k on Monday morning to a league 1 side he’s the weak link in that defence he let Todorov just waltz away from him on the goal….. we created next to f**k all again, Murray has to change something because we’re still trying to play the same way time and time again, we’ve well and truly been found out

The requirement for me was another CB, preferably in the mold of O'Reilly as I'm shit scared of the exact scenario above in bold.

I can't see how so many championship teams (ICT, Partick, Arbroath etc) have managed to find defenders and we haven't. O'Reilly's departure to Partick leaves us weaker whether Watson stays healthy or not.

Were always looking for the “right one” to “improve” on what we’ve got why don’t we look down south at defenders look at Inverness, Ayr etc getting folk from down south and has worked out but we’re seem to be stuck in the domestic market

    4-6-0

Tbf I’d match Airdires 4312 System I would go with Big Kev, Millen, Watson, Murray, Dick, Brown, Matthews, Turner/Easton, Vaughan, Hamilton and Rudden, give the likes of Byrne a rest, Connolly, Mullin and Smith has been aff it for weeks, the only 2 I was debating was turner or Easton who’s also been aff it for weeks

Tried to find same the other day with same result. However came across an article on Daily Record which claims the Scottish deadline is 11:30pm.

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/exact-time-spfl-january-transfer-31947102

Yeah the deadline is for all 4 divisions to make permanent signings but not sure what loan system is after the 31st, where L2 can loan from L1, L1 from Champ, Champ from Prem…

I think Dick has been terrible the last few weeks, these “experienced” players are making mistake after mistake yet getting away with it every week.  If the other laddies were to come in and make these mistakes they would be the “boo boys” and we would be demanding they were dropped

Been getting away with it because there’s literally no one else to challenge for the position so they’re comfortable

So it looks like Q1 & Q2, teams dont know how to handle us, and is it by the time Q3/Q4 start they've changed how their formation is set up to face us, whereas we seem to stick with the same formation come hell and high water, which was understandable during the McGlynn years as he never seemed to have a plan B, although he seldom shoehorned square pegs into round holes, I thought better of Murray but it seems hes just as culpable, as shown in 3 games already this season against his apprentice who knows exactly how Murray sets up his team to play

Anyhow theres not much we can do about it except hope that the players themselves can turn it around

At the game at HT was in the smoking area and someone called Murray McGlynn 2.0

  13. In the summer we’re gonna be needing a full new defensive rebuild in  we’ve only got 1 defender on contract Guaranteed and that’s Murray, I can’t see Masson being here, same with Dick and Millen tbh and ngl I’m not arsed if they left I think both are very upgradable, McGill? Well no clue what’s gonna happen there, Watson is 50/50 same as Corr but Corr might not want to stay because he’s getting hardly any game time.

midfield could also be an area we would need in the summer, No guarantees Byrne will sign same with a Matthews extension? Turner goes back to county, and we’ve got 2 guaranteed next season brown and Stanton… there’s a lot more work to get done than what people think this summer.

Why do you think playing terribly would enable him to get a move?

Based on recent weeks nothing but someone on here who’s a put in the thread a saints fan was saying players could agree PCAs in December and Easton was on fire that month maybe it was agreed then? I dunno but as said that’s my opinion, but he doesn’t look right maybe players have found him out and nullify what he’s good at 🤷‍♂️

I've not read all the posts today but can see that at last a few folk have finally started questioning Euan Murray. He's been awful for months now and not really sure what he does. He's not commanding, he doesn't win strength battles (as shown today by getting absolutely bullied again) and he's not a ball player....so what are we actually getting from him?!?

Folk have been questioning Murray and granted he’s been poor but maybe the injuries he’s been either having or playing through them and they could have an impact on said performances?

The issue with Kev is his match fitness as oppossed to ability. Early in the season he was making great saves where he got his giant frame down insanely quickly. Today he went down for the second goal like a pile of bairns building blocks getting knocked over by a dug wagging it's tail.

The 2nd goal could have he done better? I dunno because i wasn’t right behind the goals but it looked to me from where i was there were so many bodies in front of him that he saw it late but I would have to see it again on the highlights because I genuinely don’t know

  17. 8 minutes ago, raith1974 said:

I'm saying his decision making at times, not coming for balls etc does not inspire confidence and defenders must also feel that. Great shot stopper poor in the air and at balls across the face of goal.

He needs to dominate his area.

That I agree with, I thought you meant today apologies, he does have to command his box better come for a lot more balls in the air but I can also flip it does he have confidence with a different back 4/3 playing In front of him seemingly every week?

  18. 4 minutes ago, raith1974 said:

For all his plaudits Dabrowski is at times a bombscare and as a fan I sometimes don't have confidence in him never mind what the defenders must think.

What did big Kev do wrong today? First goal was on the defence and he done what any keeper would do, 2nd goal was right in the corner and 3rd goal same with a crowd of bodies in front of him and probably saw it late, unless it’s the other way about ( I can’t mind)  but he done absolutely nothing wrong today or do you mean in general?

I dont get this oh he was bad, oh he was worse. The whole back line including Murray were atrocious today, no ifs or buts.

Murray never got near his man and when he did it was a foul. He certainly never ever went in aggressively at any point and actually looked lost at times. I will point back to the Airdrie game, who was meant to be marking Todorov for his goal, Murray, where was he, about 2 yards behind his man. He looks 2 yards short in every aspect of his game at the moment. Maybe he's been rushed back, I don't know but he is not playing well, certainly for an experienced centre half.

Corr, Masson and even Hannah must surely be getting a nod soon? If they aren't good enough in people's eyes, why are they on the bench and why have they been offered contracts? Something isn't right there.

I may be out here but I'm wondering if Murray is losing the dressing room, cause the fight and dig has all but gone.

We’re all entitled to our opinions I respect yours and kind of agree with most of it but imo Dick was the worst out of the 3 he looked lost, didn’t know whether he was a FB or CH at times (this ain’t me picking directly at him) as I’ve said all 3 were shocking someone could easily put the case up for Millen for being the worst

but as I said in my opinion he was awful, when he went to full back crosses were bad, got caught out with decision making to ultimately getting hooked for McGill

  20. 16 minutes ago, Mr.Reeee said:

I disagree with that kind sir.

For me Dick playing reasonably still defends better than Millen on most days and his issue seems to be confidence currently and given that he is more competent at centre half (today excluded) I'd prefer him in the squad. All in all I would start with changing Millen ASAP and then also change Dick at the end of the season if possible.

See I have to disagree with you here, out of a bad 3 he was the worst imo he looked lost out there today, constantly targeted and there was a reason he got subbed I thought that was his worst performance in a rovers shirt and he’s had some howlers but today was terrible.
Millen isn’t a CH he refuses to header a ball, Murray is aggressive but that can also be a negative and he’s not really an organiser at the back the set up today was all wrong from the start
