  1. In the event of a No result in 2023 when do you think the next referendum should be?
  2. What's a good way to prepare for marathons? I've never done one or anywhere near, been working at 5ks and have got myself down to 28mins but after that I'm absolutely knackered. Would like to try and do some more long distance stuff.
  3. I'm not a legal eagle by any shot so if you're confident this is something set in stone that couldn't happen then fair enough, I'm lead to believe this is a route they could potentially go down. https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/lack-snp-councils-could-scupper-27075824
  4. I'd be absolutley stunned if SBC partook and engaged.
  5. You do see how ridiculous this reasoning is? Like if you were 90% confident you could do something risky where the consequences were massive you wouldn't just do it all the time especially not to prove some infantile point.
  6. Lmao I'll have some of what you've been smoking please.
  7. You guys are like vultures on a corpse here, I'm a mobile poster and already have 10 replies I can't get to and I've got stuff to do so will leave it there for a wee while still.
  8. Remaining in the UK? It's fairly simple, not one part of the UK should be able to unilaterally negatively impact the others. Comparing this to our current set up with Holyrood is disingenuous.
  9. Yeah I agree regarding the public but on your first part you can believe what you want, the fact of the matter is Scottish election results don't mean we have referendums every 4 years presently even if you find this unfair, I doubt Westminster would change on this stance. Unless of course they win a legal argument over this then that changes.
  10. Of course they are, equally I think it would be unfair on Scotland, Northern Ireland and England if Wales had referendums every 4 years.
  11. Obviously not, what a ridiculous position, who the f**k would make that argument? Let's have a referendum and ignore the results....
  12. Have fun telling that to people from those countries. Here, this wee diddy Scottish administration can potentially f**k up you and your children's lives for generations and generations every 4 years... Doesn't wash imo.
  13. I do broadly agree but from the posts made since your response it's clear not many people on here feel the same for whatever reason that is. My one condition is that the question has to be "Should Scotland Remain in the UK" - seeth levels alone make it a fun position.
  14. Sounds really fair for Northern Ireland, England and Wales
  15. So then this is where the discussion would move on to how often do we "test" this thing that we have "tested" before and we all actually already know the answer to. I don't believe for one second a 2023 would put anything to bed and by a lot of the logic on here it shouldn't and we would have referendums every cycle of government the SNP win. I wasnt aware I actually did that, perhaps you read too much into my post. I wad just using it as a general point to reply to, nothing personal. Also as an aside it's hilarious to see anyone saying that at someone like myself who almost never ever has the ball played fairly on here.
  16. Silly post. Why would they agree to this anyway? Saying "you're too scared" is a primary school level argument, Unionists can be confident and not want to have referendums every second week.
  17. I thought we were having a referendum in 2023? Unfortunately for people like yourself you're still hooked on the copium that Westminster being shit will lead to people supporting SI. It just doesn't quite work like that. Your side needs to start convincing people on the arguments that have if anything got worse since 2014. "Toaries bad" doesn't explain away currency, pensions, borders, EU entry, Brexit issues, nuclear arguments etc... At this point it's like advising someone with a broken arm to hack it off with a rusty saw.
  18. I agree with all the sentiments about how shite the current state of UK politics and how much of a c**t Boris is I just can't agree that the silver bullet to this issue is SI. It's extremely radical and a bit of a gamble in the same way Brexit was imo. I'd support more devolution and similar things but full Independence right now isolating ourselves from the UK and the EU for the next decade is not what I think is best for your average person living in the UK. Stopped reading at "Britnat". I'm nowhere near a British Nationalist. You're larping right now.
  19. I don't think it's particularly embarrassing just journalists being journalists. Generally speaking as a Yoon it's not really much though is it? It's essentially what we've heard for the last 8 years. As @Detournementsaid the timing if they were to somehow have an ace up their sleeve and have a referendum is bizarre anyway. Cost of living crisis and Brexit problems makes further turmoil and potential further generations of austerity quite unappealing, the uncertainty of their arguments is not a good sale at this present time. I'd actually be interested to hear from some of the more sensible Indy supporters that would only support a referendum when they think they can actually win it what they think about having one in this climate.
  20. I've been a casual, sensible small time buyer and have sold at some profit but at least 2 of my mates that are pretty dumb went mad on the NFT stuff and have both lost a couple grand by joining ridiculous discord groups where they spent time promoting for the chance of being on a "whitelist" they both got 2 NFTs that are now worth effectively f**k all. I don't think the majority of posters on here that have put money in fall into this category but I deffo think there's more dream chasing morons than serious moderate trend analysts.
