  1. Scotland were literally up there as one of the biggest benefactors during the British Empires slave trade time. Of course countries may choose to break away as they have historically done so but if Scotland were to do so it would have nothing to do with old school empire building which Scotland heavily partook in.
  2. Agreed. I think there was a point perhaps a decade ago when "woke" had different meanings. The first time I saw it was from conspiracy types that would call everyone else "sheeple". At least from my experience and perceptions it then changed to being a term from generally 'Murican black people, probably about the same time as the Ferguson riots and the first BLM stuff and with Twitter being in it's early stages it got a lot of traction. Being aware and sharing evidence of racist police and being on the good side was considered "woke". Somehow and I'm not sure how or what made this happen but now it's suddenly only used by gammon types as some silver bullet argument to anything they perceive as virtue signalling such as the existence of gay or black people on the telly. I would like to live in a world where I could call some horoscope crystal flat earth preacher as "woke" without it being taken the way it is now. I believe the term to use if you don't wanna be lumped in with the racists in that example is "based" until the nutters steal that from us. EDIT - It would actually lowkey be hilarious if in a few years time people referenced general left wing policy as "based".
  3. Joe Budden actually said he wanks his dog off and I still don't know if it was all a joke or not.
  4. I saw something in the shop the other day that was vegan chicken. Why even call it chicken, surely you're just perpetuating the concept of eating animals as acceptable? I get why you'd call something "chicken flavoured" or why you'd have vegan sausage rolls or burgers but calling it vegan chicken struck me as a bit odd they should come up with their own names imgho.
  5. I can't like this but I like this at the same time. I quite like ye both but I appreciate the pure forum colloseum type of challenge this is. Do you ever pop your collar cutting about the house?
  6. Nothing really changes with your actions other than the greetings and some cut scenes near the end. You can do a bad guy playthrough and it'll be 99% the same on the face of it. If you're like me when playing games you can get immersed enough to crack on anyway and it still feels different in a way. I enjoy being a c**t on the online stuff, I rarely mess with someone if they're doing a mission or selling goods but I do like to use explosive ammo, you sometimes get pop ups if you're a bounty hunter saying that you can get a reward for killing and delivering other players to the sheriff that have bounties which is a good laugh.

  8. I've never had any conductor mentioning not being allowed alcohol on a train before, I think similar to what VT said when it comes to individuals it's disproportionate. Basically if you look like a scrawny wee jakey they'll probably chance it but if you're a handsome tall hard c**t they'll not chance it. Some very revealing outcomes being shared right enough.
  9. Lmao, I stopped here considering the amount of time that goes towards what randoms on Twitter and grifting journalists talk about. Your reasoning isn't strong. You've missed the bigger reason it's barely been mentioned and people are keen to move on and laugh at a stupid politican being stupid.
  10. I tried this game at a mates house the other day, I shot at a pedestrian and they started running away (very slowly) then bumped into something and did a 180 and walked past me. 5 mins was enough. It looked absolute garbage.
  11. This article has spoilers up until the end of episode 5. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/15/obi-wan-kenobi-episode-five-recap-the-empire-strikes-back-again I found it quite interesting as I hadn't noticed the parallels between the films, do you guys think this is a reach?
  12. As the OP this is depressingly on the nose. I've never really watched family guy for the above reasons and enjoyed the South Park episode where they ripped the pish with the manatees deciding the patter however this is just a mild fun thread, nobody posting here is claiming to be the best patter merchant.
  13. Perhaps, I can't recall where but was reading an interesting article this morning about the timing being an apparant issue with regards to actually getting the relevant stuff through parliament to hold one whatever method they choose for when they've said they will. I agree about the strategy behind dropping all your plans at the same time but it could also come across as a bit "trust me". They evidently need to seriously impress people or convince then on the major issues, pertinently the economic argument needs to be made with enough time for people to digest it and come on board. If not it comes across as quite Brexity and sentimental which I don't think will help with the few undecided voters we have.
  14. Been playing Dying Light 2 over the last few days. Really good fun, not too dissimilar from the first one and I can't see any massive improvements but generally speaking graphics wise and smoothness it's worth making. Couldn't really care less about the story but the free running combined with melee zombie combat is fundamentally fun. It reminds me of a Ubisoft game but like they've actually tried to make it enjoyable to play.
  15. When's the meat coming? Have they set out a time frame for the detail coming out?
  16. She was a psycho from episode 3 or something and we were shown this at shitloads of opportunities.
  17. Yeah, I actually posted it there first but thought it was more applicable in here. You can rest assured I'm not going to get drunk and spam this thread with shit tweets though.
  18. You're looking at the wrong tweet. Sometimes embedded tweets shows as others, perhaps refresh your screen, the tweet is a link to a breakdown of the state of play from an Indy supporter who's laid his position out very clearly and methodically, not Murdo Fraser sound bites from Twitter...
