  1. To be fair I think this has been a tactic by McGlynn to keep players fit because when we go 3 up we tend to take the foot off the pedal. No reason to risk going in hard and injuring players when you are already far ahead. To me I'd rather keep players injury free and keep winning having gone 2 or 3 up than score 6 in one game!
  2. Winning at home against Paul Hartley to then go as champions to Hamilton though... Something sweet about that.
  3. Cool, calm and collected. Mackie was fine, Ross was excellent I thought and Shanley looked alright although not a match for McIver.
  4. Would love Scotty Arfield to come play for a season, retire and become a young manager for us with McGlynn stepping into DOF. Having someone with Arfields playing experience being guided by McGlynns recruitment and management experience seems like it would go extremely well. But that's probably a pipe dream.
  5. Maybe. But where I sit seems to be mostly season ticket holders that I recognise and they were all up for it more than usual. Think credit goes to the whole stadium for yesterday but it stems from the ultras and radiates out.
  6. They seem to think that because they managed to get equal on points having played a game extra for about two weeks that counts as us having been below their standard as recently as our last game in December.
  7. One of the first times I've heard the main stand catch on to the songs from the ultras. It spreads through the whole stadium now and is getting everyone up and buzzing.
  8. The second goal was also from a corner that shouldn't have been a corner. Both their goals come from poor ref decisions...
  9. Sorry but this is a wild take and cannot disagree more. There were even new songs today since the weeks before. They have more songs than many many singing sections I've seen. Yes there will be favourites but that's what we want otherwise no one knows the words.
  10. Something about hard fought wins like that that feels so special. Can't decide who deserves more plaudits, the attacking players who scored 3 in 30 minutes or the defence who gave us the win in the end. On another note, Callum Morrison scoring his 50th goal for Falkirk FC today, massive congratulations and will be sad to see him go. I hope we somehow manage to keep him.
  11. Can't decide if I'm extremely nervous or extremely excited... But as others have said, this team deserves my trust. COYB.
  12. You can use your phone, just scan the QR code
  13. Surely it's impossible to offer PATG when there are only a couple hundred tickets left - if it sells out 20 minutes before the game you are getting people turned away having travelled all the way there. I think its better fans know in advance before travelling if they will be able to watch the game or not.
  14. I agree with this. We all know what happens when clubs artificially bankroll their way into climbing the leagues. They fall flat on their face when the cash disappears with no real fanbase or infrastructure to fall back on and that just does a disservice to the whole league not just the team it happens to. This seems a sensible precaution for teams who are in the leagues to do so sustainably.
  15. Exactly what I thought... echoes of the same sentiments. Fans shouldn't be shouting at the players. It's not the managers fault the players aren't performing. It's not the clubs fault other teams are doing better. Deja Vu.
  16. Imagine trying to make a government initiative that puts football clubs back into the hands of the fans sound like a negative. Weirdo behaviour.
  17. I do this often and works well especially for home streams. You can also pay for one month rather than a rolling subscription if its not something regular for you!
  18. I vaguely remember Jamie Swinney saying on the podcast they were budgeting hoping we were only going to drop a couple hundred from last season after the horrific end it was. I think this was the conversation about how the football budget will be directly correlated to season tickets and fss to encourage sign ups. We have since surpassed last season I'm sure but no idea by how many.
  19. This is all fair and as I said all funny re the DaftFalkirk comment. The picture I mentioned was because you had retweeted it. The comments about best team in the league and the annual falkirk bottle job (that might have been someone else but on your podcast?) As well are both fair discussion on your podcast. My posts are mainly just to highlight that I don't think most Falkirk fans mean anything nasty and are mostly just returning the jokes and banter to the comments you've made.
  20. This and other teams using the "well should have done it 5 years ago as a full time team" comments to downgrade it. Or that the league this year is so much easier. All an effort to devalue the success but I don't for a second believe any of it. The league seems easier because we are a level above. I don't believe the teams that were here last season are weaker and I think there is maybe 1 less strong team. But we have still been exceptional. There are many full time teams that have been here for years, it's not as cut and dry as full time vs part time. But the fact we have been here as long as we have just makes it sweeter the way it's going so far.
  21. It was a combination of Ben's tweets, comments he has made on the Falkirk Daft podcast and comments on the Only Accies podcast. I think the reason it's been brought here is mainly because of the mass block of Falkirk fans from the twitter and the fact they've declined to come and do the usual prematch guest interview on the Falkirk Daft podcast. It has just fanned the flames a bit and people are having a bit of a laugh since it very much appears a "can dish it out but can't take it" type scenario. Don't think anyone is meaning anything nasty. As I said all the podcasts in the division are great and I'll often have a listen to others if I know Falkirk is mentioned and Only Accies is no exception. And if you get that engagement across fans it's inevitable there will be jokes and comments afterwards.
  22. Note you skipped all the other comments. But as I said, the play on words is funny and a bit of a laugh. And the same is being returned. Don't think he is being dug out because Falkirk fans have literally just made note of the fact that there is no match reaction video? Also a photo of the Falkirk Daft guys was also used on twitter and applauded by the Only Accies guy so can hardly be acting superior now.
  23. To be fair I think the reasons are due to the OnlyAccies comments about being the best team in the league, awaiting the annual falkirk bottle job, superimposing their faces on the Falkirk Daft guys pictures with snidey comments and the Daft Falkirk joke. All of this is in good fun but should be prepared to get a bit of shithousery back when things go the opposite way as they have done to us. As for it being here... seems almost all falkirk fans have been blocked from the twitter so not much option. In all seriousness the podcasters across the division do a great job and OnlyAccies is no exception. I don't think anyone is meaning anything dark/malicious. Just a bit of shithousery/having a laugh in return for earlier in the season.
  24. Yeah there is that risk. It is hard to judge though because we will have much larger away supports coming and we do seem to have grown the fanbase so we don't really know how many would stick around. At our lowest we got down 2500 in the Holt/Sheerin/Rennie season. If we have that as a worst case scenario with away supports of 500-1000 then we are still getting 3000-3500 which is still very good. I also think championship football will be much more attractive and doubt we would drop attendance to the same level as THAT season.
  25. I'm sure way back the board said that to compete at the top end of the championship we would still run at a 400k operating loss. I've interpreted that as our current budget would compete at a break even level for lower end championship (as we would have more prize money and better gates to fill in the current 400k) but if we wanted to compete at the top end we would need another 400k over and above that. So if we maintained our current expenditure we would have no operating loss, a full time team but only one that was competitive at the lower end. Don't know if that's right though, just my interpretation. If someone has more info then please correct.
