  1. 4 points clear with 3 to play and we are the in form team in the league. A good position to find ourselves in after being poor for the majority of the season.
  2. Squad is really down to the bare bones this weekend, the gaffer being 1 of 2 outfield players on the bench.
  3. All ambitious WOSFL teams including Darvel and Talbot should have ambitions of reaching League 2. The Pyramid system is a good thing for the Scottish game, it's just a shame it has been somewhat tarnished by a number of LL teams and their voting policy of self-protection over sporting integrity. Both Talbot and Darvel will fancy their chances of promotion to League 2 if they find themselves in the LL next season. Surely that is worth more than any grumbles that teams may have against the current LL set up.
  4. He definitely screams and shouts, there is no doubt about that. However you can't argue with 2 promotions, regional cup success, continuous commitment to developing a youth team from toddlers to under 19 level who now find themselves in the Scottish Cup Final, managing to keep us in the WOS Premier in a season where so many teams will be relegated, and so on. He is an angry fella but has done our club well, in my opinion.
  5. Strain isn't everyone's cup of tea but he has worked wonders at our club, both on and off the field, and I think he is integral to our ambitions as a club. And his mental behaviour on the sidelines only adds to the entertainment value
  6. What is the general opinion on Reilly? I played with him as a teenager and there was plenty of potential in him to do reasonably well.. was often in the Scotland under 19s team and playing for St Mirren in the Premiership as a striker, but his career seemed to dissipate a little following some injuries. I am sure he done well at Forfar and got in the League 1 team of the year from memory, but then moved on to Kelty during the following summer to play in the LL. Hopefully he can stay fit and be a consistent starter for you guys next season.
  7. Popped over to Amsterdam a couple of weeks back with a ticket to "De Klassieker" between Ajax and Feyenoord. After a lifetime of going to Rugby Park with the odd trip to Hampden, this was a whole different level of fan experience. The air was full of flying pints of lager and clouds of cannabis smoke when young Antony got an 86th minute winner in a thrilling 3-2 victory for Ajax.
  8. Can’t deny that he’s been a fun character to have in the panto that is Scottish fitba.
  9. Only 0.06 goals per game behind the great Andy Kerr. An impressive return from Lafferty considering 6 months was spent in a relegation battle. I am equally impressed at your ability to pull that stat out the bag in under 25 minutes.
  10. We can't underestimate how good the big man has been for us. With 20 goals in 24 games, he most likely holds the record for best goal per game ratio in our clubs history.
  11. They will be well aware that there are a fair number of WOSFL clubs that would give them a run for their money, which explains the vote against opening up the promotion and relegation spots. However I am surprised they would want anything to do with the B teams. Money talks, I guess.
  12. Shambles. As a fan of "the juniors" I was excited by the prospect of the introduction of a pyramid system, however the format of the leagues and the inclusion of the ugly sisters B teams in the Lowland has been a huge let down. Did the Lowland League teams get a vote on this? Does anyone want them there?
