  1. Needing to take an advance from the next decade of season ticket sales isn't helping your argument that you're a massive club.
  2. These "reports" are identical to the press releases that the 'journalists' are printing verbatim, there's no actual details in them. B-T run a service that do credit scores for companies then release reports like these as a contrived marketing exercise. A broken pdf link seems appropriate for the lack of effort that goes into this.
  3. They suggested sponsors were put off by the "fake news". Whilst I suspect that was intended as a cheap shot at fans on their way out the door, it just as equally reflects how little clout the board had with potential sponsors if they had lost control over that so called false narrative.
  4. During the covid seasons, it was increased to four players from one club in a different league. I wasn't sure if it was decreased again, but a quick skim of the current rules states a max of: So, three players if I'm reading that correctly.
  5. With such poor judgement, you must be the scout who recommended Rovers sign big John.
  6. I believe his point was that even if Celtic have around 30,000 people paid up on their cup scheme, if only 20,000 attend the game then we're getting a cut of that 20,000.
  7. I imagine most teams would declare their cup match income based on actual attendance rather than the theoretical number of tickets "sold", so this probably has no impact on the amount Morton receive. We'll get a decent amount I'm sure, but I wouldn't expect it to be a season changer.
  8. Almost put the ball into your own net, to be fair.
  9. Morton aren't playing in hoops. You've missed the target, just like Griffiths did at Falkirk and just like whoever brought back the low effort Griffiths rumours from pre-season.
  10. Commiserations to the FC Edinburgh fans. Both of them.
  11. https://www.gmfc.net/a-message-from-the-board/ Time for a bigger and better club-owned Norseman?
  12. Bet365 first scorer odds suggest Morton's second most likely goal scoring threat is a lad currently on loan at Annan.
  13. I think his brief stint playing in Australia overlapped the end of the transfer window in Scotland, so he can't register for a club here until the next transfer window.
  14. Didn't we get a win awarded to us against Hibs in the cup this year for fielding an ineligible player? Would be frustrating to make the same mistake ourselves this time.
  15. Things weren't looking too great this time last weekend, but what a turnaround since then.
  16. I think they implied Low is in a huff because he's paid less than Allan.
  17. Transfer window has closed so if he's leaving before January, it's either on loan or because Arbroath terminate his contract.
  18. I no longer have them unfortunately, but once owned a smashing set of Morton egg cups, complete with little knitted blue and white bonnets to keep boiled eggs warm.
  19. Would be pleased if there's some truth to that...
  20. Younger than almost all starting keepers in the premiership then. Still has time.
  21. Hamilton would be a decent starter for most Championship and League 1 sides. Good deal for Livi since he'll probably be on loan the whole time and might turn out to be a better prospect than Schwake. Maybe not the best deal for him, but that's the risk of holding out for so long and I'd be surprised if we were the only ones to offer him a contract after last season. Crawford looks a decent signing. A bit more experience will hopefully have a positive impact on what is quite a young squad.
  22. There was a comment at the MCT EGM that the budget was originally going to be lower than last season, although sponsorship helped improve that slightly. Given the number of players to have left and the middling quality of some of the signings, you'd surely hope there was still a bit of money left over and that the budget wasn't that bad. Hopefully he was just being careful with his words and not wanting to promise too much. Maybe he was just playing fans to try encourage more season ticket purchases, or playing the board to try get a better budget, but it didn't seem like the right context for that. Surprised the supposedly imminent arrival of Kabia hasn't materialised yet but hope it does, he seems like he'd be a decent shout for a starter.
  23. https://www.gmfc.net/greenock-morton-squad-update/ Ugwu, McLean, Oliver, Russell and Ledger all leaving. Not disappointed by any of those tbh, though our current strikeforce of Muirhead and Easdale leaves a little to be desired.
  24. After those daft rumours about Imrie going to Hamilton, it's good to see him committing to the club by promptly starting to build his own squad (rather than, say, holding off to see where he ends up).
