  1. Except they're not 2 separate issues as this tournament is the thin end of the wedge. Get the fans used to the U21 sides and then force it through into the league set up. Anyone thinking otherwise and believing attending these Cup games is harmless needs to think again. The only way to get the message to the SPFL is a full on boycott of games. Given the Falkirk fans can't even manage their own season ticket boycott then their attendance for an U21 match is about right. Anyone worried about their club missing out on income through a boycott, that's the whole point because the clubs are the SPFL and ultimately they're the ones who can do something about this fucking sham. Force them to do something by making sure they know it's a pile of shite.
  2. Airdrie game tonight and I'll not be attending. Haven't been to any match in this tournament since SPFL brought in the U21 or U20 sides and won't be back until they get them to f**k. Always enjoyed attending the challenge cup games previously, especially against teams outwith our division. Even if by some miracle the current side manage to emulate the sides who made it to finals and indeed won it I'll not be endorsing it.
  3. Had they bothered to turn around they'd have seen it was the section they were standing in.
  4. Of course the players that Murray doesn't want and who were still under contract are being marginalised, that's because they weren't (aren't) wanted. Make them aware that they have no place in the plans of the manager and that they should seek employment elsewhere. That way they get a move and the club won't have to pay up the full terms of the contract although dependent on where they go some compensation may have to be offered. I'd rather the club didn't have to use the limited finances available on paying off contracts where possible. If Page is happy to get paid a wage with no prospect of game time then that's entirely up to him and if he chose that option I'd be happy to see him further marginalised. If he doesn't set a foot on the field this season it will be good for my overall health as I was having at least one heart issue per match that he was on the ball. None of this is bullying, the players were still welcome at training and able to keep their fitness up, just told that they didn't feature on the managers plans. I'd actually say that such honesty is the opposite of bullying.
  5. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/ex-airdrieonians-midfielder-ryan-conroy-18322252 Ryan Conroy having a wee greet aboot being publicly transfer listed. Maybe my memory is more affected by this whole old age thing than I would like but I'm fairly certain that in the history of football clubs, at the end of a season there have been numerous announcements of player x, y and z having been "made available for transfer". And the wee lamb didn't enjoy the last 6 months. Never mind us who endured the entire 3 fucking years of it.
  6. Side issue, did you see the fucking size of Jordyn Sheerin (14) when he came on. He's clearly been on holiday somewhere on an all inclusive deal and spent the entire 2 weeks at the buffet. I'm 51 and in better shape than him (apart from the fucked ankles and knees). How the f**k any club allows a player to get in that shape and still pay him is beyond me.
  7. Prefer it to the black and red. Always liked the sky blue colour, brings out my eyes.
  8. We, Airdrie, have predominantly younger laddies on FT deals and the more senior pros are PT by the look of things.
  9. This is the only decent thing I'm going to say to you lot over the forthcoming season. P&B has a facility to mute posters, it was made for c***s like VT. Use it. Don't give the c**t the oxygen he craves. You're all welcome. x
  10. Too early to decide how teams are going to fare when the scramble for players is really only beginning. How I'd like things to shape up is different. If I had a soul I'd go find myself a crossroads and see if there is someone there to make a deal. 1. Airdrie 2. Don't care 3. " 4. " 5. " 6. " 7. " 8. " 9. " 10. Falkirk
  11. How do you ensure that there are no returns to the trouble of 2001 or the well being of the club when it's run as an autocracy and there is no oversight from other parties or for that matter no differing opinions allowed in the boardroom. I'm the same as everyone else here in that I want a decent side on the pitch to watch and not at the expense of the general well being of the club. ST's go on sale and I'll be in there for mine, the wee guys and his pal's but it doesn't mean I can't voice concern at how I see things being run. The days of fans burying their heads in the sand about the running of clubs should be a thing of the past.
  12. Says the person who has displayed a very selective viewpoint regards recent events.
  13. The breakdown of a relationship as a result of the trust just not handing over cash when demanded? I refer you to my original comment about controlling abusive relationships. Only one person in control at this club and it's seemingly his way or the highway. See the list of other directors jumping ship for an indicator on that. Dictatorships generally aren't very conducive to long term positive relationships between the dictator and the populous. Having seen a few shysters at this club over the years and the standard of some of the other closed door boardrooms in Scottish football I'm taking the cynical view about ours.
  14. It was a good thing already being done by the supporters trust so why the need to have everything "in-house". A need to control everything isn't necessarily a good thing, just ask any person in a controlling abusive relationship how that works out for them.
  15. I couldn't have been any more obvious, down to using the actual fucking headline. See what I was replying to.
  16. You'd like to think the club would consider releasing some news of the players released, on the website, maybe under the title "Contracted players made available" or something similar.
  17. We're having part time players too so the staying part time wouldn't be the issue. By the sound of it the issue of staying part time on his current deal which the club want to renegotiate (probably in their favour) and he doesn't. Which he's entitled to do seeing as that's the whole point of a contract.
