  1. Just read on twitter on the Agent Scotland feed (I know!) that Falkirk have accepted a £130k bid from Rotherham for Lyle Taylor.
  2. In today's Greenock Telegraph, it says that we've offered a two year deal to 20 year old Belgian born striker Kabba-Modou Cham, who scored twice in Saturday's 3-1 win over Motherwell. He is a Gambia under 21 internationalist. We have also offered one year deals to Slovakian defenders Michal Habai and Thomas Peciar.
  3. Both played a lot of games for Rangers last season, I'd be surprised if they were sent out on loan. Hutton is a very decent player though, would be more than happy to sign him.
  4. Excellent, i have tickets for Augsburg's opening day match against Dortmund, so pretty chuffed that it's a saturday afternoon game and not on the Friday night. Free tickets though work by the way. Got to love the fact that the Augsburg MD used to work for us
  5. He only played the first half. I too would be surprised, based only on what I've read on this thread.
  6. James Creaney is playing as a trialist for Morton tonight against Sheffield United.
  7. Anyone got any idea why the Morton forum is down? Not been working since early this morning. Have the admins chucked it in protest at Tidser's sale?
  8. Davie Hopkin has a lot of work to do to get himself fit before the season starts.
  9. 3 Slovakians will be joining us for pre-season from Wednesday onwards, and they are all expected to be thrown right into the action in Wednesday night's game against Sheffield United. The players in question are centre halfs Tomas Peciar (25) and Michal Habai (27), and attacking midfielder Tomas Kamenca (19).
  10. I see it hasn't been mentioned on here anywhere, but Moore is after Andy Barrowman. His wage demands are currently too high but Moore was hopeful that he might accept less the longer he goes without a club.
  11. Tidser has said in today's paper that he believes that Rotherham have come in with an offer of the £50k up front, which is I believe, a very poor sum to have accepted. We should have been holding out for at least double that in my opinion, regardless of how long he has left on his deal. Disappointed to lose him, but I do wish him the best of luck down there. We'll at least get to see him off when we play Rotherham in a pre-season friendly in a couple of weeks.
  12. In better news, we apparently have Dougie Imrie in doing pre-season training with us. Would be a very decent signing, and right midfield has been a bit of a problem position over the last couple of seasons for us.
  13. Someone over on the Morton forum is saying that James Creaney trained with us yesterday. Any opinions? I must say, a player released by Dumbarton is not really one to whet the appetite.
  14. From today's Greenock Telegraph "TWO women will stand trial charged with posting abusive Facebook messages about an Inverclyde man. Stephanie McLaughlin, 24, and Kimberley McGowan, 28, are accused of using the social media site to write messages of an 'offensive and abusive nature' about the male after his photo appeared on a Greenock-based Facebook page which was set up to mock and taunt local residents. The charges are understood to be linked to posts made on a page titled 'Greenock's Biggest Daftys'."
  15. Morton will move their training base from Quarrier's Village, where they've been since 2004, to the new £6 million sports complex at Parklea in Port Glasgow. The Port Juniors currently play there on an artificial surface, but there is a grass pitch there too so the club can train on both surfaces, which will help considering that 4 of the 10 clubs next season with play on plastic.
  16. Any idea on what the compensation received was? Yet another player to come though the ranks at Falkirk and get sold on for a fee, and as we've nicked a guy from your community programme to head ours up, I'm crossing my fingers that we'll begin to see the same things happen at Morton in the next few years.
  17. Moore also mentioned that we will have a couple of goalies in for pre-season traning, as we need some competition for Derek Gaston. One is an un-named Frenchman who trained with us last season, and the other is Stuart Morrison, who was with Bradford City's reserves last season.
  18. Nae chance! He just finished second top goalscorer in the Austrian Erste Liga (2nd tier) as his side SV Grödig won the title. Hoping to catch him play next season in Innsbruck, he was great at Morton in his loan spell with us.
  19. They are also in talks with a former Portuguese internationalist by the name of Gomez (surely not Nuno Gomez?) and a current Ligue 1 player.
  20. Well you never know. A season spent playing abroad on loan perhaps could do wonders for the boy's development. You don't ask, you don't get.
