  2. Free parking usually at Hampden but the Whisky EXPO is on this weekend so it will be busy. There is an Asda in Toryglen with a big car park that is a 10min walk away.
  3. These guys seems to be in the right ball park: PowerPoint Presentation (gleventsstadia.co.uk)
  4. Original plans Bing Videos were for c1774 but were changed halfway through the build for the current capacity of...980 (and a Royal Box holding 40). There was supposed to be a South Stand for 500 visiting fans Bigger and better for Lesser Hampden | Queen's Park Football Club (queensparkfc.co.uk) but it has all gone a bit quiet.
  5. Well, we had to pay off our stadium contractor (expensive), spent €2m on an amazing pitch but then halved the Lesser capacity to build a Royal box and copy Tottenham's changing rooms. So it seems we have no cash to further develop the stadium and had to end up with an arrangement with the SFA that lets them use Lesser and us rent "big Hampden". Masterful. At least we are back in the Southside but the future is very unclear.
  6. Looking forward to this game. We have had some good contests with Raith over the last year or so. They are a good footballing side, easy on the eye, and have added a goal threat that was lacking last year. They are certainly worth their position in the league. Key thing for us is how we handle their aggressive press. We struggled with that and lost posession in dangerous areas at Stark's Park. We certainly have goals in us again but still prone to costly gaffes that lead to goals. A tidy game at the back and I am optimistic we will come away with a point or more.
  7. Fitba eh, why do we follow it? There's got to be less tortuous forms of entertainment surely?
  8. The radio silence from our club about the future suggests the answer is not in doubt.
  9. We dominated for spells in the first half without really creating many clear chances then did our usual (1) give ball away in the middle of the park and (2) get ourselves into trouble at the back, give away a silly foul which leads to a goal when blootering the ball into Sommerset Rd would have sufficed. That said, bags of skill and spirit on display. The team overran Ayr for much of the second half. Wave after wave of attack. Dom rampant. Robin's subs added a threat as well so fair play to him. If we can find a way to stop having a costly gaffe in us we will win games.
  10. Not a great set of results today with Morton and Inverness both winning. Sharpens the mind a bit about turning draws into wins. Good thing is the league is still tight. The bad thing is the league is still tight! Here's hoping there are more favourable results on Tuesday and that we pick up points at Somerset Park.
  11. Try £12.50 for two bovrils and a poke of chips! They should have served me wearing a mask and holding a gun! Never thought I'd miss the wee pie shop at Ochilview but the Hampden prices are shocking.
  12. Aye. Let's hope he grows in confidence as he looked a bit of a rabbit in the headlights as wasn't really giving Longridge any movement or options ahead of him. Heavy touch in the box when he was wide open cost us a chance to score too. Let's hope he gets control of his nerves and we get to see the best of him.
  13. Yup but you haven't seen what went before it! Trust me that was an improvement. Still a long way to go before teams fear playing us but signs of encouragement are there. Conversely that was the poorest showing I've seen from the Jags in some time. They simply didn't turn up, unlike your support, for which .
  14. Well that was a bit unexpected. A very understrength Thistle who played poorly. No press and our guys got some room to play. We created plenty of chances but our finishing was really poor and cost us three points. Think Dom should take a rest from set pieces for a bit. Defensively we still have a calamity in us but overall a better performance from the guys.
  15. I don't see us keeping a clean sheet so we are going to have to go for it and shoot on sight. Who knows...we might even score!
  16. Over the last few days there have been some very interesting and thoughtful exchanges in the forum on the struggles the club is enduring. Looking across the posts I think most folk agree on the facts i.e. we have talented but inexperienced team that is underperforming and struggling to adapt to a new system, along with coach still finding his feet and DoF insistent on youth recruitment when perhaps a few more older heads would not be a bad thing. The disagreement I see seems to be more around perspective: for some their cup is half empty. For others recent results suggest it might be half full. I am in the latter camp. That might be wishful thinking on my part but I think the season is going to feel a lot longer for those who think their cup is half empty.
  17. The team I saw last night displayed passion, aggression, pace and attacking intent. That suggests to me there is plenty of buy-in. A sub-par performance from Thomas perhaps but he was up against a defender that had the measure of him. That happens sometimes. I agree we have been a boring watch in recent weeks. That is not in doubt. I was even mulling over making Airdrie my last away day for a while but I saw welcome improvements in the team performance that if built on, will see me at Somerset Park.
  18. Watched a bit of the BBC coverage this morning. There was a lot more sympathy for Tizzard on the TV commentary last night than was in the stands with the fans. The poor lad had a bit of a stinker. Harsh taking him off yes but he had given the ball away three times in dangerous positions and eventually cost us a goal. How many more chances should he have been given? There would be no way back from being two down.
  19. That was the most encouraging performance since August. Good attacking intent, moving the ball quickly and a good press and a bit of dig about us that saw us dominate the midfield at times. The downsides were giving away some silly and unnecessary fouls that put us under pressure. Harsh for Tizzard to get pulled early but he was honking. A good performance from everybody else. Best I've seen McPherson play. For me I saw improvement tonight and that gives me hope for the season.
  20. No cash and no assets is not a good place for a football team. Could be a make or break season for the Bairns. And if L1 is a diddy league then what does that make Falkirk given you can't get out of it?
  21. A Falkirk friend who is well up in one of fan groups that is putting money in the club pretty much admitted they will be part-time next season if they don't get promoted this time round.
  22. And let's not forget our Academy which was awarded Elite status. One of only two in the Championship. Club Academy Scotland | Performance| Scottish FA
