  1. None of them have turned into bad players overnight, but it is clearly a significant concern ignoring the Patterson/Hickey windup shite that several of our key players are going through a tough time at their clubs. That said, this is realistically about as good a time as you could pick to have a collective shite spell. None of them have turned into poor players overnight. In Tierney's case, there are almost certainly going to be enough games for him over the next 4 months to keep him fresh and indeed given his past it might be beneficial from a Scotland point of view. I also agree that McGinn probably needs a bit of a rest. I think he's a good enough player that he'll force his way back in at Villa and hopefully in a better position. As long as these guys are involved every week in the matchday squads and getting at least some minutes then I don't think it's a huge concern. Gilmour is the one I'd most like to see getting more minutes but he's behind 2 excellent players who seem to be pretty robust. At least one of them is likely to move on in the next 6-9 months though and that will be the big test for Gilmour. He has time on his side and Scotland and Brighton can afford to be patient with him. Ultimately, what matters is how they play when they turn up for Scotland and none of the players listed have shown any significant cause for concern in that respect.
  2. As someone who doesn't really make any away games now this is the only reason I renew and it's 100% worth it for this alone.
  3. Muirhead and McMillan did OK first half v Queens, one poor goal conceded but think Hodson probably carries the can for that although not seen the replays. Our defence has only really gone to shit in the last 3 games once Akinola and/or Brownlie makes an appearance (although by all accounts Muirhead was having a nightmare against Aberdeen). Muirhead is a decent defender at this level when paired with a good CB like Holt but he's nowhere near good enough to carry Akinola or Brownlie. Has to be Muirhead and McMillan centre halves and Hodson RB.
  4. I think there's some rationale to your question but in fairness, Fitzpatrick has only started 3 of the 8 games Fuctifano listed, we've won 2 and the third was the Falkirk clusterfuck which largely rests with McCall. Continually playing Tiffoney both risks Tiffoney's fitness and prevents Fitzpatrick getting anything close to a run in the team. Anyway it's all moot if Holt is out for 8 weeks. Any word on Docherty?
  5. Irish girl also stealing yards at every one of those monster throws.
  6. The extra time points rule is a joke, Portugal basically had an interest in seeing the game into extra time assuming Iceland weren't offering any forward threat.
  7. It's really not to be fair. You can't score with your hands.
  8. Bit disappointed in the crowd despite the record, Wales got 5,000 more to the Bosnia game.
  9. That states 1 point for a penalty shoot out, do you get 3 points for an ET win?
  10. Unfortunately not. If we win in normal time we need one of: - Portugal beat Iceland (by same or less margin) - Wales beat Switzerland If we win in extra time we need one of : - Portugal beat Iceland in ET (by same or less margin) - Wales beat Switzerland Think that's right but happy to be corrected.
  11. Saw that out brilliantly. Need one of Portugal or Wales to win on Tuesday and get the job done against Ireland. Think I'm right in saying any win would be enough if Wales win.
  12. That has to be the worst var decision I've ever seen.
  13. Dowds couldn't really be doing any more to demand a starting spot, the only man in the country with a better strike rate than Haaland. Still feel we're a better team with Graham starting though, even accounting for his one missed sitter a game.
  14. Anyone read any good articles digging into the situation with the Spain women's team? Seems bizarre that the association are sticking with the manager in the face of 15 players seemingly effectively saying he's a bully, can't imagine the same happening in the men's game if a manager had so spectacularly lost the dressing room, regardless of the root cause. Not even a hint of looking into the issue.
  15. Can anyone remind me how the last two games have gone between these two sides?
  16. Next stop is David Weir's "oldest Scotland player ever" record which Gordon should smash through (40 years 116 days).
  17. Would like to see Lindsay given a shot here, played every minute for a Preston team that has 7 clean sheets in 10 games in the Championship, I think he's a better option for the next few years than Gallagher. Limited value in continuity given the length of time until we play our next game and the high chances of rests/calloffs anyway, might as well get a look at a few of the fringe guys - Doig, Morgan etc, would also like a look at Gauld but that seems like a pipe dream.
  18. I was going to write 10 years but I actually think 5 is realistic. His conditioning seems excellent, you'd struggle to imagine he couldn't play spl level until then and he must have a huge desire to stick it out with this Scotland squad and see how far we can take it. I imagine in the back of his head he must be eyeing up the 2026 world Cup.
  19. Anderson apparently likely to switch allegiance, presumably to give him a better chance of getting games.
  20. The exciting thing is we now have a core of guys in early/mid 20s who are already top class players, we only need a few of the young guys coming through to fulfil their potential to have a really good side for some time.
  21. Tribunal clearly been watching his appearances for Dundee this season.
